Tharnik finally seems to fully shake himself out of it, shaking his head back and forth like a dog shaking off water. He clears his throat somewhat sheepishly.
"Er . . .sorry 'bout that. I kinda have a bit o' history with dragons, ye see. I took an oath, and I, uh, sometimes overreact."
His eyes narrow on the cultist.
"Aye, I'll help ye with that 'un."
He'll help chain him to the door, and when he's secured he'll attempt to slap the cultist awake. Not too gently.

Kar simply nods to his companions as they attempt to rouse their companion. Cadogan was tending to the civilians. He was not a good speaker, nor a likeable face. He takes a spot near the back corner of the bedroom and watches the proceedings keenly. He didn't have high hopes, but it was a start. Meanwhile he retrieves a small sewing kit from his back, and begins magically stitching his bite wound closed.

Most of the captured civilians look almost shell-shocked as you let them out of the caged wagon, allowing the elven Cleric to coral them into the tavern and tend to their wounds. As you all enter the tavern, Fat Mar and another man begin stacking barrels and crates against the door to bar it shut.
Aleyd follows the adventurers into the room with the cultist, barely containing the fury on her face. "I'll watch if you don't mind." She says, leaning up against a wall out of the way. While Kar'a'nach begins to heal himself, the cultist's eyes flutter open after a few rough slaps from the dwarf. It takes a moment for his senses to come to him, woozily looking around the room. As the particulars of his situation becomes clear to him, he spits out of a mouthful of saliva mixed with blood, and begins to laugh. "Doesn't matter what you do to me heroes." he says mockingly. "Your little town is done for."
Outside the room, where Cadogan has gathered the previously caged townsfolk, a female elf with pale golden hair and bright green eyes speaks up. "D-do you know who that was? What that was?" You can hear the anxiety in her voice and see it in her eyes as she speaks, trying to hold down her panic. "That was Vorgansharax. A true dragon, and not a young by any means. Our lives - all of our lives are forfeit if we remain here any longer. You've got to get everyone out!" One of the men begins to weep openly, while a fresh sense of dread settles over the rest of the tavern.
"Excuse me. Vorgansharax you said? So you know this dragon? What else can you tell me about it?"
Of course, we plan to leave. Cadogan looks around the tavern, trying to count the number of people in it. "We'll do what we can to get as many people out as possible. Perhaps we can use the docks."
A halfing man trying to console his family - his wife and three daughters, speaks up timidly. "Ah don't think we'll be able to do that. We saw more of those things you killed come off some boats in the harbor. They were dragging everyone away on the docks when they caught us."
The elven woman gives you a look, as if to say "see?" You notice now that she's in scholars robes, and decidedly out of place with the rest of the townsfolk. "Vorgansharax, is large for his age. We think he should be around eight centuries old. He is a scion of Claugiyliamatar, an ancient green dragon that resides in Kryptgarden Forest. The only positive thing we have going for us is that Vorgansharax has a marred wing from a battle in his youth, he doesn't fly very well. So if we can put enough distance between ourselves and the town, we might be able to get away from him."

"Town schmown. You have more pressing things to worry about now buster." She pokes his shoulder with the pointy end of her dagger, applying just enough pressure to cause discomfort. "What's your stake here? Time to spill the beans elfy boy, I'm not one forpatience."
Kar cocks his head. His interest was piqued. The dragon didn't come for one man. It came for the town. A part of him wondered if it might be profitable to scavenge a little bit. A small part, but a part nonetheless. He turns to his greatsword, producing an oilcloth and wiping it clean. The blade should never tarnish, but it was still making a mess of things. Iniphi seemed plenty capable of asking pointed questions, so he was content to just listen.

Advantage roll for Iniphi's intimidation check due to Tharnik's help: 10
The half-elf flinches away from the dagger as much as he can, baring his teeth at Iniphi. "Your threats mean nothing to me. Vorgansharax will come and lay waste to you all just as he has done to the Lord Regent. Even your guildmasters and the noble heads were at Valjevo when the Maimed Virulence struck. I suspect they've long since drawn their last breaths." He laughs, wincing as the movement makes the dagger pierce his skin. "You truly lost before this even began. We've been receiving reinforcements from the Cult by ship for weeks, your harbourmaster was too easily bought."

"That's enough, then."
Kar'a'nach scowls at the cultist. They had information, but little that was actionable. With no hesitation, he steps forward, bringing Silver Edge in an arc, over Iniphi's head and crashing down onto the half-elf captive.
Hefting the greatsword back and letting the gore drip off its blade onto the floor, he sighs.
"Well, the harbormaster was bought, so leaving by boat is no option. But it will be difficult to leave by land. Have to get through the city that way, and I think you all want to save the civilians. Even harder then."
Attack roll if needed: Attack: 20 Damage: 22

Cad takes in the information given to him, inwardly cursing their infernal luck. "Right..." He says slowly, staring at the elven woman with a carefully neutral face. "You seem to be very informed. Are you from this town?"
The half-elf roars as the gith moves forward, abruptly cut off as the great blade splits his skull. At the back of the room, Aleyd's lips are pulled into a tight thin line. "So the Lord Commander is dead?"
"We're going to need to find more allies." She walks over to the cultist's corpse, spits on it, and then leaves the room.
"My name is Aya, I'm a scholar from Mantor's Library here in town."
As the black fist exits the makeshift interrogation room, Aya looks over, her eyes widening slightly. "I think I might know someone who can get us a way out of here. You know of the Welcomers yes?"
