Gotur, you recognize the symbols on Thorvin's shield to be the Holy symbol of The Mighty Valkur. With your roll of 20, you would know a lot about this, and feel free to google it as your character would totally be aware of this deity.
(Ctleath, No roll is required to find the brewery, will be posting shortly! Also, you can get notifications from the thread by subscribing to it. Scroll to the top of the screen, at the top right hover over 'Tools' and then select 'Subscribe')
(Snake, thanks so much for using the dice roller. It really helps. Let me know if you need help using it)
You all gather in the city center and share your greetings and pleasantries. Gotur, the large half-orc who is slick with the woodwork, seems to likely know about the job from his experience as a bouncer. It seems the half-elf Venovar is pre-occupied with something and in a hurry, although seems eager to get going. Then we have the strapping dwarf Thorvin seemingly from a far away land adorned with powerful armor and weapons looking for work. Lastly, a mysterious cloaked halfling emerges from the shadows of the alley going by Alton, and he seems to know the town like the back of his hand as he is a local.
You all follow the directions that are listed on the job, with Alton and Gotur likely leading the way as it would make sense they would both have an understanding of where the brewery is. You all trudge maybe a mile or two out of town along an old dirt road that winds its way up a low hill. As you near the top, a large stone building comes into view, flanked by a couple of barns. By the door is a brightly painted sign that reads:
‘The Wizard’s Tower Brewing Co. For the Freshest Pint in the Realm!'
You all head in. The entire building is infused with the smell of hops and beer, but is clean and well-organised. A few humans and halflings wander about, checking on barrels and vats of bubbling liquid with no sense of urgency. You are greeted by a fairly young gnome who nevertheless sports an impressive beard, as well as a blue shirt and brown trousers. This is Glowkindle, the owner of the brewery. After a moment of confusion he notices Thorvin and Venovar’s weaponry and the sheer size of the half orc Gotur, and realizes you all must be adventurers. He doesn’t initially notice Alton, as he kind of slips in between the larger party members.
"Ah yes! You must be the hired help! Greetings adventures, the name is Glowkindle. Come, follow me, let's share a pint together and I will tell you the details of the work." The gnome leads you all into a small bar set up in a corner of the brewery. He hands you all a pint of the brewery's finest pale ale, and goes through the details.
"My brewery is doing well and I am looking to expand operations. In order to do this, I need to expand the beer cellar. I hired some muscle to help dig out the new section, and in doing so, we uncovered an old wall. Seems to me it's some remnant of a long-forgotten ruin, presumably. Me being a curious cat, I told the guys to knock a hole in the wall, and well didn't a bunch of huge black rats come out! The size of dogs I tell ye! Big dogs too, not poodles, ya know? Anywho, we all got the heck outta there unscathed, but with those blasted rats down there, the entire celler is completely unusable."
He continues:
"I have no idea how in the blue hell those varmints got in there, but I suppose I should tell ya that this here brewery got its name from the old Wizard's Tower that used to be on the site, so it may be something to do with that. Anyways,I'll give y'all 25 gold each if ye can take care of those rats for me and find out what the heck is going on down there so I can expand operations and brew more beer for everyone!"
The party can ask any questions they might have to Glowkindle, or continue to talk among each other. Once everyone is ready, Glowkindle will lead you all down to the cellar entrance and the dungeon will start.
Thorvin downs his pint. Foam on the edges of his beard & mustache he says: "Aye, that was a fine ale but, I do prefer a stout. Huge rats you say? Well I'm not above going on a rat killin'. Lead the way good sir."
Venovar takes a sip of his ale and says "I very much agree with Alton, but I have one question. Will we be able to keep anything else we find in these ruins? There could be a lot more to this than it seems..."
Glowkindle strokes his beard and ponders for a moment. He then looks at Venovar and says:
"To be honest my good elf, I'd feel a heck of a lot more comfortable if ye showed me anything ye might find down there before ye go off takin it, yeah? I mean, I don't mind all that much, but the missus may give me a hard time if somethin's a down there that we didn't know about."
He then looks specifically at Alton"I can trust you to do that, yes?"
"You got it friend! We'll keep it in mind!" says Venovar with a warm smile. "Also, I just wanted to say that the ale is quite exquisite, Glowkindle. Very good stuff." He then turns to the others in the party and says "I'm ready when you are, friends."
Gotur has a look at any carved ornamentation in the brewery, trying to figure out the best way to approach offering his services. Maybe after they finish the rats...
He sets his empty down and gathers up his carved staff and leaf patterned shield.
"Got some stuff I'd like to leave up here, if there's somewhere I can stash it?"
Glowkindle smiles at Venovar"Perfect then. I do appreciate that. And I'm glad you like the ale, we work hard around here to make the finest ale in Neverwinter."
Gotur, as you glance around the establishment, you see numerous elements of it that are made of wood, including a few beautiful bars, cabinets, and railings with some really nice carvings. Glowkindle says to you "Aye, big guy, I can keep some of your belongings behind the bar. You have my word it won't be touched. What ye have?"
Glowkindle giggles at Alton and nods at Thorvin.
"Right then! Let me show you the cellar."
Glowkindle leads you all to the cellar entrance which is a hatch in the floor of the main brewing area. "Well, here it is. I'll open the hatch for y'all and ye can all head down. Once you are done we will all have another pint together. Thanks, and may the gods be on your side with those rats!"
The wooden stairs creak as you descend into the cool, dry air of the cellar, which is infused with the smell of beer and damp fur. The cellar is completely dark, so anyone who can't see in the dark will have to produce some source of light to be able to see anything. For the folks who can see in the dark, much of floor is taken up by barrels and casks of beer that make it hard to see the entire room at once. The only relatively clear area is towards the far side of the cellar, which has a dirt floor littered with stones and workman’s tools.
That is the hole in the wall that Glowkindle told you about. It's around 4 ft. high and 3 ft. wide.
You also hear the scrabbling sound of claws on floorboards and faint squeaking noises.
"So, what do the rest of you do when you're not taking on odd jobs at breweries? I'm a woodworker, myself, carve all sorts of stuff."
"Not as much demand as I'd hoped, so been taking odd jobs, mostly labor and occasional bouncing gigs. Can't say as I recall throwing any of you out, so glad we can start on good terms."
Gotur chats amiably before Glowkindle gets around to them.
He'll excuse himself after the briefing to go put on his leather armor.
Gotur considers leaving his whole pack, but makes a tidy pile of his bedroll, iron pot, mess kit and most of his rations and torches. He figures there's a chance that his tools and shovel might come in handy.
((I don't know as we needed to hold up cellar, folks can respond as they'd like (or not), I'd just meant to post more last night and didn't get around to it.))
"Thanks, I appreciate it."
((Does it look like they use any kind of light source while down here (lanterns, wall sconces, etc.), or just do everything in the dark?))

There is no light source in the cellar other than the light that comes in when the door hatch is open. During the day when the employees need to access the cellar, they just prop the hatch door open and access the barrels of beer that way.
The previous workers that glowkindle hired either had night vision or brought along a torch while they worked.

To Thorvin: "May the winds blow in our favor.", Gotur says with a brief nod
At the brewery, he accepts his pint gratefully, and sips on it as Glowkindle describes the job, letting the others do the talking for now.
