Ink muses, "I don't know about you, but given how much larger she is than the others, I'm guessing she's a pack leader of sorts. If not a clan leader of the Grey Wolf then, at least, someone up in the ranks. I have no idea who runs the clan now, if this one turns back to her human form, perhaps we'll find out."
Ink looks up at Quill and says," Keep a keen watch - let us know if you get a hint of the pack's return."
Then to the others, "I'm going to see if I can make sense of what happened here before the wolves arrived and what clan these slain barbarians were a part of."
As Flint and Crownsguard work on tying up the lycanthrope, the sun is setting fast. Distant howls can be still heard, calling and responding from various point northward.
Then to the others, "I'm going to see if I can make sense of what happened here before the wolves arrived and what clan these slain barbarians were a part of."
Once the stag dissipates, Marav walks over and begins to go through the bodies. Looking for loot, weapons and anything else that could be useful. Especially identifying marks. He sends Steele up into the air to keep an eye open, warning him to stay away from the vultures.
Ink traverses the ridge and finds himself looking into a natural recess in the hillside, with 20-foot grassy slopes that steeply declines into an area about 50 feet by 100 feet. The area has a floor comprised of fine dirt and is littered with detritus—mostly human remains and broken equipment.
The vultures and crows keep their distance from you, flapping away if you approach. There seem to be over a dozen dead bodies as far as Ink can tell—14 in total—in this alcove by the lakeshore. There was obviously some sort of battle here; the signs are all over, with smashed shields, splintered spears and bows, and bloodstains in the dirt. Also in the alcove is the sign of a huge bonfire, with massive charred logs piled in the middle of a scorched area, 10 or 15 feet in diameter.
There isn't much skin left for Ink to get any sort of identifiers from these carcasses. Marav, on the other side of the ridge, is able to discern similar-looking tattoos on each human that attacked—a ferocious-looking, slashing design that runs from the left side of the face all the way down the shoulder of each barbarian. The stylized red tattoos are reminiscent of scars from a huge, clawed animal.
The howls from the north are still fairly distant, but more lupine voices are beginning to join in the cacophony.

"Massive logs? I doubt that a tribe of Uthgardt would have a bonfire this large - does anyone see the footprints of a giant in the area? If so - what direction do they leave for?"

... Assuming Marav shares what he found... Ink suggests, "I think those are the remnants of the Red Tiger tribe - or at least a group of them. The wolves may have finished them off, but something else caused this destruction."
Ears cocked at the sound of the howls, "We need to get going - preferably in the direction of that giant, but regardless, we NEED to get out of here. Throw that white wolf on the cart, we could use the collateral should the pack catch up."
The werewolf corpses, as is made clear upon a brief glance, have tattoos that are revealed once they transform back into their non-werewolf state: a swirling, dark design on their faces and arms.

Responding to the crowd, "Red Tigers were the ones we were looking for - and these wolves are likely the Gray Wolf tribe. I get the feeling that they came over after the Red Tigers were decimated. I'm going to look over the older battle scene and the big bonfire - if someone helps me, I'm sure we can get it done quickly before the wolves come back. Speaking of - we still need to see about that white wolf. And don't worry Rip - we'll find a clue here to lead us to your family!"
Ink investigates the old battle site and bonfire.... // Investigation11, and advantage should someone help Ink 22 //
Flint and Ink are able to uncover some uneaten flesh belonging to some of the scavenged human corpses. There are traces of tattoos on these as well, the same stylized red "claw marks" that you saw on some of the barbarians who attacked you.
Not being experts at tracking but knowing a thing or two, Flint and Ink can also ascertain that there are signs of a large creature leaving the scene, leaving huge divots as it climbed the northern slope and bounded off in the rough direction of Everlund.
Ink relays the information to the others, "Follow a giant to Everlund then? Let's be quick about - my need to investigate everything caused us to dawdle about here longer than I expected or wanted. The howls make me uncomfortable. At least we have a prisoner of war." Ink nods in the direction of the White Wolf.

Ink might know of the curse of lycanthropy, but not necessarily the specifics or exact mechanics—if you like, we can determine what he knows with an Intelligence (Lore) or (Nature) check.

Crownsguard will consider for a moment, “Rip is acting odd for a victory. He is normally cheerier than this, correct?” Crownsguard will try to remember what he can from his history on werewolves (assuming Lore is History: 20). “Maybe he had a dog once. Killing animals that remind one of pets can be extremely traumatic.”
