Following the tracks across the causeway, Marav easily determines that the tracks were made several hours ago by eight humans wearing thick, furred boots.
The causeway ends before a stone dome carved from the mountainside. Six 30-foot-tall, snow-encrusted stone pillars support the dome, which soars to about 60 feet at its apex. Each pillar is carved with a wraparound bas-relief, depicting certain scenes having to do with giants.
At the back of the dome, a 40-foot-wide, 40-foot-high hallway heads into the mountain. Wind has blown the snow far into the hallway. The tracks of the humans continue east into the temple complex.
"Not sure what to expect here," says Harshnag, drawing his greataxe. "Best to be prepared."
As you walk through the entrance and proceed down the long, unlit, freezing hallway, you notice that the snow continues for a good long ways into the mountain. The snow has settled and hardened, and your crunching feet echo against the frost-covered walls.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As they get cross the bridge, Ink walks up to Rip, "You look tired, mind if I use that collapsible pole for the time being?"
--------
As they cautiously approach the dome, Ink asks Marav, "Discern anything from those tracks?" However, when he turned around he lost sight of him. "So, it's trouble then."
Ink releases Quill, asking her to fly as high as she can and fly ahead like silent death ( // Stealth Check 4 // ), and mentally implores her to report through their psychic connection what she sees. ( // Perception Check 11 //)
// a^2 + b^2 = c^2 .: if forty feet high, she can be about 90' ahead and still be within 100' of Ink. //
Ink moves off to the side opposite of the one he thinks Marav went. Quietly, he stalks forward, only guessing at what Marav surmised was ahead of them. ( // Stealth Check 8 // )
Ink purposely carries no torch, but both his blades are drawn.
As you move further in, the ceiling in this hall begins to slope up from 40 feet all the way to 60 feet as it moves further in. Characters can only see with darkvision or artificial light here.
Overlooking the hall to the north and south are unguarded 20-foot-high ledges that have no railings or battlements. You can’t see on top of the ledges from where you are, but Quill flying in the air can.
For Ink: from Quill’s vantage point, you see that atop the south and north ledges are niches carved, with unlit iron sconces mounted in each niche. Past each niche carving is a passage that looks like it goes further north (from the north ledge) and further south (from the south ledge).
From where you stand now, you can hear the echoing grunts of several humanoids off in the distance. Quill, who is closer, can see the flickering light of a single torch off further to the east, further into the mountain hallway.
Marav walks next to CG pointing upwards to indicate what he saw to everyone. He points out gaps in the ceiling to those who can see in the dark. He takes CG's hand and places it on his shoulder. "Walk with me, bright light will just draw their attention and if they haven't seen Harshnag yet we might have a better chance of surviving this."
Ink hushes the group. "Agreed, there's a group ahead. They have a fire. Let's not announce ourselves to them with our own.... I'll guide Rip until we get closer. When we get close enough, I've a spell that may give us a surprise."
" And Flint, at least try being quiet..."
Ink cringes at the heavy footfalls everyone seems to be making.
Ink stifles a sigh. Still in a whisper, "Fine. Let's have a go at them then."
Ink charges forth with the rest of the group. Ink still tries to remain along the side somewhat obscured, helping Rip forward. He tells Rip, "I think I'll try to blind them with some pyrotechnics once we're within sixty feet of the torch they're holding."
"AH HA HA! YES!!" Harshang bolts forward, his boots pounding the gigantic flagstones as he charges toward the torchlight. "SURRENDER NOW! LEAVE THIS SACRED PLACE AND YOU WILL NOT BE HARMED! ELSE...TASTE...YOUR...DEFEAT!!" His axe is held aloft as he runs.

Everyone with darkvision is able to see the 20-foot gaps in the ceiling that Marav pointed out. (These are marked by the red T's in the map)
These gaps suggest the presence of two hanging blocks of stone.
