Flint would like to continue searching counterclockwise  while the camp is being prepared, looking for patterns like the one he spotted.

 After finding one secret door and being aware of the rather symmetrical nature of the entry hall area, Flint is easily able to uncover another nearly identical secret guardroom with a frozen lever. This room mirrors the southern one, with a frozen lever on the south wall.

Ink takes the adamantine rod out and uses it to cast locate object searching for a "gigantic axe nearby." 

He also tries to locate other similar adamantine rods. 

Ink says that if the party wishes to continue he needs at least a second short rest after that hail storm, but he'd be without his most powerful spells. 

"Naw, we need th' rest, just figured ah'd get a few things out o' th' way."

Flint gathers the group together and casts prayer of healing twice 16 "Moradin, we took us a good thrashin' today, give us yer healing.  Ah'll  owe ye  another tankard when ah meet ye!"

He then settles in to rest. On his watch he'll  continue to search the walls but won't open any doors.

Ink asks Crownsguard, "Err, Crownsguard - how's Cat doing?" 

After the locate object spells resolve, and the hut created, Ink settles into his books to take his mind off the day. He casts as a ritual COMPREHEND LANGUAGES and goes through sections of the transfiguration book that it might helpful in.

He tosses Volo's Guide to Rip and suggests he read the sections on giant lore and see if there's anything of use. 

Crownsguard turns to Ink and

JC says, “Cat is perfectly fine. Don’t you do this to me, Jr.”

Crownsguard says, “Thank you for your concern, Ink. I have kept Cat perfectly cozy and safe. Thankfully, my armor took most of the blows. He is just a little wet.”

 There are no other similar rods of adamantine near you.

When Ink usea the 100-pound rod to locate a gigantic axe, it locates Harshnag’s greataxe.

Harshnag says, “I could touch the rune, but maybe you should find someplace to take cover, just in case we get another ice storm.”

While mulling this puzzle over, At Ink’s request, Harshnag lifts the heavy adamantine trident from Stromnaus’ hands. It looks gigantic, even in Harshnag’s grip. He then hefts it, and then carefully replaces it in the hands of the statue. Nothing else happens. “Yes, it can be removed. I would bet this is what happened to Thrym’s weapon.”

 “I believe so, yes. However, I would suggest poking it with the axe first. Just in case that it may have a similar effect as before.”

“With my axe?” Harshnag says dubiously.

“Axe, yes. These weapons seem to correspond to the runes, along with the giant type. It is possible it is a verification system.”

"No! Crownsguard dammit. Stop it everyone!" 

"Yes, the ise rune touched by THRYM's axe makes sense. Harshnag's axe is NOT Thrym's axe. We have to find Thrym's bloody axe!"

"You know what - I don't trust the lot of you to sit still and not touch anything for eight hours."

Ink gets up, packs everything away, heads for the northern doors, disappating the hut, pushes the doors open and exits the main room. 

Crownsguard looks to the rest of the group, “I am beginning to feel that Ink distrusts me.” Crownsguard’s posture slumps a little, “It is difficult to adapt to organic races in the future. Free will is difficult...”

Crownsguard looks down, expecting to find Cat wet but unharmed, and instead discovers that he is missing. He can’t quite remember the last time he was by his side.

Harshnag, oblivious to this, says, “I’m not sure what we should do, and I don’t want to kill you all with falling hailstones. But I like the idea of rest. I’ll take first and second watch...I don’t need much sleep.”

Crownsguard mentally blinks, “Huh. That’s a problem...”

Crownsguard will clap his hands together in a spell, he casts Find Steed, and as the light coalesces, it is much smaller than before. Standing roughly at Crownsguard’s waist, a metallic mastiff woofs happily. “You are Dog. Nice to meet you. I require your assistance in locating my organic friend, Cat. You should have specialized senses, correct? Please locate them.”

Dog gives a tinny “woof!” and begins his search.
