When Jiali finds the warehouse locked and with boards on the windows, she is hesitant. After reading the note, she approaches the door several times, just to retreat into the shadows of the building across the street seconds later. After some time of observing the building she scrapes all her courage together, moves up to the door and knocks.
OOC: Thanks again to everyone for their enthusiasm. I suppose we should we should stop recruiting and make this thread private. Please advise.
I have created the first page of the campaign content, and can post that link whenever it’s appropriate. I’m not sure if we should move to a new thread first, though, so please advise.
I would like to welcome everyone to the campaign who has so far expressed interest, since I expect a high death rate for your 1st level characters, however Raise Dead should work again now that the death curse is lifted. So be nice, and your friends will bring you back to the temple.
Before we enter the jungle, I want to have two teams of 4 adventurers, operating like well oiled machines and ready to work together in an 8 person super squad. The danger in the jungle is real and ever present, and stupidity will result in quick death, with no help nearby.
(Woohoo! I can't wait! I haven't been around for very long, so I'm sure others can correct me if I'm wrong, but I would recommend making another thread tagged Private. The idea would be that then new people wouldn't join because they would understand that you've stopped recruiting.
Interesting about the the two teams. Should it be up to us to create our teams? (I think I've counted 8 people that have expressed interest), or perhaps a roll of the die to assign us to one of the two teams. Hmm, it appears to me that either way, the way everyone's going, we're bound to bump into each other soon.
Excited!)

It is up to you to run it here or a different thread. Most use a different thread, and reopen this 'recruiting' thread when/if they need to open up recruiting again. I would suggest going that route, and create a new thread for the actual game, but it is your choice.
I would suggest getting a campaign set up on here though, and sending us the link to add our PCs to it. Then we would have a better idea of who/what is in the eight player characters. That would allow us to make teams that can support each other with various roles in the group. I can build the campaign if you want me to do so.
Nolla is a jack-of-all-trades sort of build I am playing with, so is mostly a skill-monkey and rogue to start.
OOC: Maybe wirte a private message to all players, it makes sense to have a group chat for discussing all the OOC stuff and answering questions, you'r players will certainly have plenty of them.
the banging inside the warehouse stops, and a short while later, the door near the waterline opens, a shirtless dwarf emerges and snatches the hiring sign off the wall, immediately disappearing back inside behind the locked door. A few minutes later, the sail cloth wall facing the water lifts, and a keelboat slowly floats out and rides the tide towards the mouth of the harbor. Before long it is gone from sight.
rumors at the thundering lizard tavern nearby indicate that the owner of the now closed Oceanic Trading Company warehouse in the harbor district, also used to have a farm on the outskirts of the Tiryki Anchorage. Outside the safety of the city walls.
OOC: I’ve made the thread private, and posted the link to the campaign page at the top of this page.
(So we've all kind of gathered around the warehouse...I'm excited but unclear on our next steps. Do we all meet each other and find our way to the farm?)

Rain is perching on top of a nearby stone wall. She leaps down, gives a slight bow, and says, "Good day to you, Otwin. I'm Rain, and yes, I was hoping to find employment. But it seems we are too late to apply here. Perhaps we need to look elsewhere. Are you very familiar with the area?"

A rather aged and rather rotund man quietly stands off to the side. He is not unpleasant to look upon but he does seem to be out of place. Although he is currently equipped for adventure, he appears that he would be more at home in a monastery or as some officiant in some clergy. He clearly has some physical strength due to the ease in which he is carrying his load (equipment and his own girth). His eyes are kind and his demeanor is mild. He notes the individuals that are near with a nod of the head and the beginnings of a smile. He can be seen to be silently mouthing words, which are in fact blessings and prayers for each individual that has answered the call for this new line of employment.
When there is a lull in the greetings, he meekly adds, "Well met brethren. My name is Brother Maynard. I am pleased to offer my services, not only to my employer but to each of you as well".
A pretty black-haired woman leans against the wall nearby. She has a lute in her hand, playing softly. As the group starts to talk to each other she stops playing and puts away the lute. "Well met." She says in a rich voice. "Name's Nolla, and it seems like the job offering here has just been taken down." She sighs as she moves towards the gathering group. "Any idea why they stopped hiring?" She asks with a frown towards the building.
"Pleased to meet you, Nolla. I believe I saw no more than you: the dwarf pulling down the sign and the boat heading out into the harbor. I was assuming the fellow was on the boat, but I suppose he may still be inside. Or someone could be. Did anyone try knocking?"
Rain is a tall figure, slender with tawny fur. Her clothes are fine, but currently a bit rumpled. It's hard to miss the battleaxe at her side along with her chain mail. She lopes gracefully over to the door and gives it a few good loud raps.
"Tried that already." You can hear from the shadows between two building close by as a lean half-elven woman with short black hair hesitantly approaches the group. She is wearing a long, light brown coat over clothes that look presentable but are clearly made for travel. Otherwise, she does not seem to carry a lot of equipment. A subtle smell of pine leaves fill the air around her.
"They don't seem to feel like answering the door. My name is Riali."
"Surely someone in the area knows where they've gone." Rain looks around. "Isn't there a tavern near here? Thundering Lizard or something? There's always news and information in a tavern, right? Shall we try there?" Rain sniffs at the air absently and smiles a little.

"Does it matter?" Nolla asks, running a hand through her raven-black hair. Her eyes, a storm gray in color, glance to the vacant building. "Clearly they are not hiring any longer, so why try to hunt them down?" She glances back to the others.
