Baerdin charges into the mix war hammer drawn shrugging the shield on his back into defensive position. Moving to get in between the kobolds and the family he swings his hammer in an arc towards the nearest kobold.
Karen's hair stands on end when she sees the bullet comes flying at her. But her armor does it's job. It deflects the projectile and protects the owner.
Karen grasps the hilt of her partner. When unleashing the black blade, Karen feels surge of power in her limb and bloodlust song ringing in her head.
She assaults the Kobold who stands beside the commoner like a giant bird of prey. Thrusting her rapier to the chest of the little beast.
Dead: Kobold A, Kobold G, Kobold D, Kobold B, Kobold C Injured: Linan Swift, Cuth Swift, Galdrum
In the span of six seconds chaos reigned. One kobold after another were taken care of with ease until only two remained. Gavoi's staff hit one of the kobolds hard enough to snap his neck, the loud crack and twisted angle clear for all to see and hear. Galdrum's swing of his own dagger is dodged easily enough, which the kobold gives a vicious equivalent of a grin. High above Pixel searches for any change in the atmosphere and sees only more fires and the dragon circling higher overhead. There is the occasional lance of lightning from its maw, arching toward the ground over by the center of the town.
Baerdin's charge of his war hammer catches a kobold straight into the chest. The blow crushes the creature backward, physically throwing it back a good five feat into a crumpled and bloody mess, dead. Following Baerdin, Karen's thrust of her rapier finds the one chink in the creature's armor that gives her just the right spot to slip her blade between the fine boned ribs and into its heart--a quick and clean death, after everything. Almost immediately after that a haze of magic seems to settle in the air, surrounding the last standing sling-bearing Kobold. Instantly it drops to the ground, a loud snore drifting from its snout. Almost immediately following the kobold does the woman drop, hands tight around her spear, struggling for a second, before she to begins to lightly snore. Behind her follows her husband, and the children.
Only one kobold remains, looking harried.
Back to top of the round since sleep has taken out the family and Kobold F.
Seeing nearly everyone drop peacefully to the ground, Pardot walks over to the woman on the ground, shakes her awake and slips 5goodberries into her hand. As she blinks awake he looks to her, his silver eyes flash, as he speaks directly into her mind saying "These will help you feel better from the ice. We should move. The danger has not passed."
He then looks around at everyone around him, quickly measuring them up and looks to find the nearest safe area.
Dead: Kobold A, Kobold G, Kobold D, Kobold B, Kobold C Injured: Linan Swift, Cuth Swifth, Galdrum Asleep: Kobold F, Children, Cuth Swift
Linan is not sure what has happened, but she takes the berries offered her with wide eyes and surprise. Cautiously she eats one, especially after the voice skittered across her mind. She looked to her husband. She eats another two more when they prove to make her feel better, and then moves over to Cuth. She shakes him awake, quickly, hands moved toward the wound on his side. Linan gives Cuth the remaining two berries.
In front of Galdrum stands the only remaining Kobold who shudders, looks around frantically, and then bolts with a shriek. He is fast, but very clearly aiming to flee. One kobold remains out cold on the floor, near Linan Swift and Cuth swift. The children remain asleep behind Cuth Swift and Cuth is waking under the attention of Linan.
Linan Swift heals 3 HP. Kobold E attempts to flee. An opportunity attack is available for Galdrum on Kobold E.
Gavoi sees the civilians taken care of and gives them a nod and a slight smile; He also sees the last standing kobold at the mercy Galdrum. Though in the case of him missing, Gavoi would aim his staff toward the fleeing kobold and mutter to himself ancient words which would make his skin start to take the hue of brass. From his staff, a Ray of Frost would flash toward the draconic creature, all the while he is walking toward the sleeping kobold (F) to restrain it.
Attempt to hit Kobold E with Ray of Frost: 18 , 7 Cold Damage if hit. (If Galdrun lands a successful hit make it so they both hit at the same time)
Galdrum sees the creature tries to flee and quickly moves to attempt to halt its attempt to flee. Seeing as they still had one alive to possibly question he aims to put the blade of his dagger into the kobold's back.

Baerdin upon seeing the last enemy drop pulls out rope and begins to tie up the last sleeping kobold making sure to stuff an old sock in its mouth to keep it quiet. “Best be getting off the main roads don’t want that dragon or any more o these rats popin in to give us a nasty surprise.”
Pardot looks to armored dwarf and nods in agreement. He then looks around to the nearest building that seems safe and points to it, indicating that they should go there. He then quickly goes to the kobolds on the ground and riffles through their gear, taking a pouch of sling bullets and doing a quick check to see if he can find anything else valuable, though expecting nothing, and not spending more than a few seconds. He then follows as the family leads their children to safety.
Gavoi would look around from the center of the main street to observe the damage and chaos around him. He'd keep an eye out for any other enemies, people to save, and mainly if that dragon is still in the area.
"That dragon gone?" He'd ask to the strangers around him that assisted with the kobolds as he walks off the main road and into the building to avoid being seen. He is dragging the tied-up kobold behind him by the leg.
Karen feels the weight on her weapon suddenly doubled. The Kobold's eyes which filled with pain and fear now become two glassy bolls.
The voice in Karen's head (it always reminds her a little girl. Young, pretty and cruel) sings a song of pleasure. Driven by horror, Karen pulls her rapier from the body of dead beast and finds that there is not even a single drop of blood on it's blade. It only makes her more horrified.
(What is this! What kind of demon I made a deal with!)
Karen sheaths her blade and erases the song from her head. Hiding her wings and tail under the cloak, she runs to the family.
Please don't die! Please don't die! Oh they are just sleeping!
Karen feels relieved, noticing the Halfling who possibility used Ice knife spell. She got one or two things to tell him. But seeing he healed the woman, she decided to put that aside for now.
“Best be getting off the main roads don’t want that dragon or any more o these rats popin in to give us a nasty surprise.”
"Agreed. We can listen to the locals too"
Karen nods to the armored Dwarf who helped her fighting the Kobolts. She moves to the children and trying to awake them up. At the same time, Karen looks at Linan and says.
"Lady. Tell us where did you heading for. Are there any emergency shelter in this town?"
Galdrum's dagger slips between the ribs and scores a deadly hit against the fleeing kobold, swiftly ending its life. Mere seconds as the kobold begins to fall to the ground, removed from Galdrum's dagger, does it's body frost over thanks to the creeping ray of frost from Gavoi. There is silence for a moment, and then the sound of children crying as they are woken up and gathered together by Linan and Cuth. Both humans quickly move to comfort them, even as one eye is kept warily on you all. Cuth seems to say something under his breath to his wife, but she abruptly shakes her head.
Pardot you do find roughly 10gp worth of treasure that the kobolds had gathered together, and gain one full pouch of sling ammo in total from the remains.
Dusk has begun to settle, making it hard for Gavoi to determine the exact location of the dragon. From the occasional streak of lightening to the north Gavoi at least figures that the creature is so far keeping its attention further into the town. For a moment though Linan looks to Gavoi, confused by his question, before she abruptly shakes her head, attention drawn to the tied up kobold with pursed lips. Before she can say anything Karen steps toward the group. Her presence seems to calm the children, a little, and you can hear one of the giggle. As everyone begins to gather up and start to discuss their next plan of action, Linan finally speaks up a bit tiredly.
"Thank you. Without you I fear--" she glances toward her children and Cuth, who nods his head sharply. "We were trying to get to the keep." She looks at each of them, and then squares her shoulders as Cuth gathers the children back to standing. "The keep of Greenest is the most fortified place in town. It will be the safest to go to and is our best defensible position." She gestures up the road, then over toward the trees. "It rests on a hill, just past the trees and river. If we take the road here further in we can take a right at the next cross-street, that will put as at the gates of the keep." She looks at each of you, and tightens her grip on her spear. "Will you join us?" She looks to Cuth and her children, then steps closer. Her words are softer, trying to be kept from the children. "I...am afraid without you Cuth and I--our children, we have...we might not make it. Especially if there are more of...those things on the way."
Karen trys to remember what her father did when his people were in difficult time. She put his confident look on her face, patting Linan's arm to comfort her.
"Rest assured brave lady. I will accompany you and escort your family to the keep"
Karen turns to other adventurer and says.
" I can't force you to join us. You have already risked your life for helping this family. But the governor of this town wil be certainly pleased if he knows that you saved his people. And you might be rewarded if you take the prisoner to the keep"
Galdrum returns the dagger to the sheathe on his belt before stooping down to pick up his crossbow. He looks it over quickly to make sure that the bolt is still ready to fire, setting the weapon in a resting position in his hand. "While I appreciate the thanks, it would be best to wait for doing that once you are safe. If you can lead the way to the keep I will come with you and this one to protect your family." He said nodding his head towards Karen.
Standing up collecting the sling bullets from the fallen Kobold, Pardot looks to the group, and to the children. He then looks to the keep trying to judge the distance, and watching the road for places they could seek cover should the attack from the sky continue. He then nods, calmly thinking “I will unlikely be able to complete my trading now... but I should not be on the road...” then looks to the others and starts walking towards the keep, keeping his eyes out for danger.

To Party: "Well, I don't think those kobolds stood much of a chance. That dragon...is another matter. I will join you to the keep. We must weather this attack and learn what plans the kobold had for the family. Surely these conniving creatures are the pawns behind a greater evil."
To Karen: Vitre nods and smiles, "Nice work with the rapier. I need a bit more practice myself...and a steel blade." He winks as he flicks his wooden rapier. "My master has begun teaching me the elven bladesong. Have your heard of it?"
