To Linan and Others
"These people (Baerdin, Pardot) have a point. The sun is setting and night will come. It will be harder to protect you from creature of darkness in open place. We better barricade ourselves in that building and wait until once the situation calms down. Lady ......Ah!"
Karen covers her mouth with her left hand.
" My apologies. I haven't heard your name. And I didn't introduced myself too. Let's have a simple self-introduction while we move to nearby shelter. I am Kaluma the Scarlet"
Karen licks her dry lip. She clenched her fist under the cloak. It is sweaty and cold as ice. This might be the most important moment of her career as adventurer.
" I am an adventurer summoned by the Governor of this town. The reason why he summoned me is unknown. But since I am a Warlock. I guess he was going to ask me to investigate those cultists. But ......."
Karen looks up to the sky and listening carefully to the distant havoc and dragon roar.
" ......It looks I am bit too late "
To Lord Vitre
" Well met Lord Vitre. And Thank you. I mostly trained it on my own. I used to use wood sticks at first"
Though smiling, Karen feels sad inside. She couldn't say it is her father who taught her swordsmanship. Nor she could say how good he is at sword.
Some of the tenseness as each person agreed to help get her, her husband, and her children to the keep began to leave Linan's form. She took a breath and nodded once, sharply. Together she and Cuth gathered up her children. To Karen--Kaluma--Linan smiles and says, "Linan Swift, my husband Cuth, and our children. Anything more can wait until we get to the keep." She seems a bit lost about the 'cultists' that Karen mentions, but pushes past that as she gestures to the road.
Karen is not able to discern anything strange about Lord Vitre. Lord Vitre sounds like a name she might've heard, once--some noble line she may have had interactions with? She can't be certain, but it certainly sounds noble enough that he could bear the title of Lord. All nobility are a little strange, so any strangeness is to be expected, accepted, even. To hear of this 'bladesong' however--she knows that there is some elven magical arts that had begun to creep back into the world. Something about magic and weaponry, but the exact specifics she never bothered to learn. It is some form of wizard craft, which is all that she really can recall if she thinks about it.
As this goes on, the sleep cast by Vitre on the kobold finally begins to fade. The creature awakens, at first slow, and then sharp and quick. It flails in its bonds, a loud shrieking escaping from its snout. For a moment its just noise, "Gathraaaak null, gathraaaak, null!" although Galdrum, Vitre and Karen can understand this to be 'Let me go, let me go!' in draconic. Seconds later it shrieks clearly, "Let me go, let me go, let me go!" in common instead. It is loud, and making quite the racket.
As the kobold shrieks, Gavoi is keeping a close eye on the surroundings for any strangers to reach them. Its shrieking is making it hard to focus--almost every twitch of sound or brush of plantlife has him jumping at the thought of more creatures to come running. The shrieking will surely draw attention too, just like the leaves surely hide some hidden kobold in the bush although a check reveals nothing there.
Conversely Pardot can see nothing around them, although the dragon's occasional burst of lightning illuminates the now darker sky and the treeline just in the distance. His keen eyes do catch sight of something, not sure what at first. Upon the shrieking however he sees in the distance one lone kobold, and a human dressed in robes with a dragon-like bone mask settled across his face. They seem, for now, to not notice the sounds of the kobold.
Looking to the talkative tiefling, Pardot wonders to himself what type of person would so openly announce selling their soul for power... “clearly someone to watch” he thinks, and shudders. Pointing ahead to the human and kobold he quickly alerts the group, speaking for the first time in a voice just barely audible over the chaos happening around. “Ahead.” He then refreshes the shine on the bullets in his hand, but tries to lead the family off to the side into a safe looking building, wanting to avoid danger.
It was my fault! Karen-Kaluma bits her lips. She should have help the Dwarf to bind up the Kobold.
" Quick! Silence him before......"
Kaluma's word was died in her mouth. Because she finds him. A man with a dragon mask. The mask which imprinted in her memory with iron and fire. Kaluma forget to breath. Her heart stops to beat. Then next moment, her blood boils.
"■■■■■!"
No human words that Kaluma has learnt can express her anger and hatred. So she uses the speech of demons. It is impossible to translate her words literally in human tongue. But someone understands Infernal would know that it roughly means murder in common language.
Kaluma draws her rapier. It starts to sing in her head again. But she doesn't afraid this time. Kaluma accepts the melody and voraciously absorbs its power, concentrating the destructive energy into her palm. Then she runs toward the masked man with blinding fury.
Galdrum walks over the the kobold, drawing his dagger and moving to slam the pommel of it into the side of its head in order to knock it out before it can draw more attention.
Going for Non lethal damage, just want to knock it out.

Gavoi walks along with everyone silent and stern until he sees kobold yelling bloody murder and squirming all around. Seeing Galdrum had it covered, he ignores it and instead focuses on the masked figure not too far away and follows the dwarf who is charging.
Pardot, the Swift family, and Vitre make their way quickly off the road, around the edge of the nearest house to the north, until they reached the shadows of the trees where Vitre pulls up the illusory rock to cover them. As far as Vitre and Pardot can tell the kobold and masked stranger have not noticed them still a ways off down the road that passed between two lines of gathered trees. Linan and Cuth work hard to make sure their children are silent as they can get so as to not alert the danger of their presence. She gives a thankful nod to the halfling, and another to Vitre.
As this happens the kobold's sudden yelling for attention was abruptly cut off by the pommel of the dagger straight into the side of its head. It goes limp in its bindings by Galdrum's feet. While Galdrum's attention is focused on the little guy Kaluma's scream of rage cuts off as she races toward the two. A sickening, building of power in her palms is let off as soon as she is close enough and slams into the back of the masked stranger's back. The kobold turns and lets out a shriek, now aware to the threat at its back. It glances to the stranger and then back at Kaluma, Gavoi, and Baerdin with wide eyes.

Seeing his two companions attempt to stop the suspicious masked figure with their kobold companion, Gavoi's skin starts to turn brass once again as he twirls his staff around his neck and points it toward the masked man, muttering under his breath which would cause a ray of cyan coldness erupt toward the masked figure in attempt to help halt his movement and any chance of getting away. He is not looking to kill this figure, just hopefully take it out.
Using Ray of Frost on Masked Stranger: 113 if hit and movement is slowed by 10 feet.
In seconds the masked human falls to the ground, blasted into the stomach with a second round of cackling, eldritch energy that knocked him back and down, followed closely by the creeping cold of frost that begins to coat his form. The kobold glances to the now downed human, back to the group who gained Vitre now, and then shrieked out and bolted. Those who speak draconic can hear clearly the, "**** THIS!" that came from the kobolds snout as it turns to run. It's even dropped it's dagger in the attempt to flee.
Dead: Masked Human Turn order: Kaluma/Baerin, Gavoi, Vitre, Kobold. Attack of opportunity for Kaluma/Baerin on kobold as it turns to flee.
Kaluma didn't realize the Kobold. She was too focused on the Masked Stranger. But when little creature trys to flee, the Tiefling warlock turns to his direction with speed of rattle snake.
“ The one sides with the murder is a MURDER AS WELL!! "
Kaluma curses with infernal. Her words grow fangs and talons and leaping toward the Kobold like a shadowy beast. Then a cackling energy bolt is unleashed after the curse.
With the sudden rage in Kaluma's heart, the terror of the memory of finding bloodstained halls and the corpses of friends--servants--family. It tugged at her with all the rage in her heart--and the voice whispered softly in her ear to now, kill it, consume--feed. It is a raw sort of hunger that gnaws at Kaluma's anger, gnaws into her heart until all she can see is the raiders on her home. Her attack is vicious, and within a seconds heartbeat the kobold is slammed into with eldritch energy, black as night, and a sickly purple light streaks across its skin. It drops to the ground, dead.
I want a wisdom save from Kaluma.
Baerdin's attempted attack failed almost the second he swung, thanks to the furious actions of the teifling next to him. By the second he swung his hammer the kobold was already tumbling over smoking and Baerdin met only air. The air fell silent as the kobold collapsed dead. Kaluma's heavy breathing loud in the sudden silence. It almost felt like it rang--except in the distance there were still sounds of fighting, of raiding, and fires and smoke and a dragon afoot. Linan hugged her children close, lips pressed thin, as Cuth looked on worriedly to the teifling girl.
Baerdin nods to the others “Well looks like we’re ready to jump in on this party and look I brought a hammer! Let’s go!” As he follows along with the others.
