Looking at the alter, you can see there is a skull in the center of it, smaller in size, about that of a goblin. and you hear a voice coming from it, "I am Yugg-Gug, please release me by smashing this Alter."
Kraven can't help himself as curiosity overpowers his rational thinking and he goes over and picks up the skull, looking it over upside down and this way and that way. "Not every day find talking skull. Instead of bash, want to go for ride?"
Kraven the skull is fixed to the rest of the shrine.
"When my ship was captured this is as far as I was able to make it, while laying dieing Kalvikodas came and trapped me, I do not know what lies ahead. Should you aid me I will do what ever I am able to after the shrine is broken. I do not really know what will happen after the shrine is broken."

Annoyed that he can't take the talking skull with him, Kraven will inspect the shrine to see if there are any buttons or knobs or any fine lines suggesting a hidden hidey hole.
There are not. But with that roll, and the creativity, and not giving up on this, I will tell you that you do find a way to break the skull off and destroy the shrine. And probably most importantly to Kraven you see gold inside the shrine.
Kraven fiddles with the shrine a bit more and then pulls out a dagger, inserting the tip to the base of the skull. Wiggling the blade a little bit, you hear a pop as Kraven casually tosses the skull over his shoulder to Vlar. Then he wedges his dagger a bit more into the crack he just made and wedges the shrine open some more, eventually splitting the shrine open spilling out some gold pieces. Turning around he takes the skull from Vlar and moves off a bit, "You can come with me, now what you have to tell."
Vlar catches the skull as it is lofted to him, and gives a bemused smile as the gold spills out of the shrine. "Guess you found something after all." He comments as he hands the skull back to Kraven. Moving in he looks over what spilled out of the shrine, touching nothing just yet.
Jecob picks up the goblin-sized breastplate, with a puzzled look. Then, in all seriousness, he holds it at his waistline, to check if it is a codpiece.

"Why should we release you?" Vlar asks, stepping up to the skull. "What is in doing so for us?"
"I have little to offer. I am being tormented for all eternitry by Kalvikodas and just wish for this to end."

While the others speak to the chatty skull, Varlan examines the corpse of the caster then the others, looking for anything of interest.

Vlar frowns and steps back, watching as Kraven begins to study the shrine. "See anything worth our time there?" He asks Kraven after a bit.
