This setting looks very cool! I Just heard about the new crowdfund and was exploring the creator YouTube channel. I'll wait for the 2024 update or new version to drop here on DDB.
Calling everyone involved "scamming lowlifes." as if this is some kind of rug pull is pretty nasty not gonna lie, it's not like they've gone radio silent on all of their socials and shut down their discord or something, hell I don't even think 2024 content was promised in the product buy page, it just wasn't not promised and out side of that all of the other content provided work perfectly fine (I think I didn't check them all).
It's not on there anymore, but when it was released, the product page did promise 2024 compatibility. A lot of people (including me) bought the book expecting this compatibility and have been waiting to get what we were promised and paid for for a few months now. I agree that "scamming lowlifes" is a bit harsh, but after 3ish months, it's starting to feel like an empty promise.
According to the 1985 team, a 2024 update for DND beyond content is in the works. They're tentatively hoping for a fall release.
Do remember that the current content is still 2024 compatible, as all 2014 based content is. Compatible isn't the same as being built on the 2024 rule set.
Being truly compatible would, however, definitely include being able to use the Obojima subclasses with 2024 classes. If you can't do that in Beyond (although it would be pretty easy to do ourselves pencil and paper), then it's not compatible in practical terms.
Is there a reason why the Map of Obojima still has no MAP KEY provided in the book? Why do I have to go to REDDIT for something already paid for and seemingly cannot find anywhere easily online? Is there some kind of update to the missing content in the Digital Copy of this book?? Thanks in advance.
Don't know what else to tell you. Beyond has made it quite clear that all updates to the third-party sources (aside from bug fixes) have to come from the third-party devs. Beyond can't unilaterally update the materials to the other ruleset.
To add on to Athanar's pointLIt's not a mechanical matter:It's most likely a copyright, licensing & legal matter.
Hasbro doesn't own Obojima or any Partner's original content, as they learned during OGLgate. & they've clearly been going out of their way not to just buy or claim Partnered Content. Heck, they enforce other Partners' copyrights if public homebrew violates it.
They CAN take it. They just know it's not profitable as they learned during OGLgate.
So Beyond's programmers can't just snap their code editing fingers & implement 2024 Obojima.
There's legal hurdles, as well as the issue of demand, that need consideration.
I think we should demand from all parties involved for Obojima 2024 to be added as a freebie to those who paid for 2014, & paid otherwise.
The anti-2024 crowd will demand abstaining on behalf of 3PP, tho, on the grounds of OGLgate never being over(Despite almost all of the major ORC license partners(Green Ronin Press being the only one left) having posted Partnered Content on Beyond, Critical Role having not ditched Hasbro for Daggerheart, & a certain eyepatch-wearing ex-DMsGuild dev who was one of the main OGLgate poster children having lied about AI art usage & having used OGLgate to promote his own game while abstaining from making 3pp).
So it becomes a matter of "Is there enough demand & are the legal hurdles clear to jump, or is there enough anti-hype where we check for hype(Unfortunately, this means social media) talking this further collab down, & thus potential revenue is reduced for all by ongoing bad press?"
If Beyond tells us to talk to 1985, and 1985 tells us to talk to Beyond, then both are at fault and I am happy with neither. They advertised the Beyond version of the book as working fully with 2024 rules, which would logically include working fully with character creation and so forth on the site, not just at our tables (which we could probably figure out). So unless that's implemented before the end of the year, I fully intend to invoice them for a refund and ding their credit if it's not forthcoming.
It, as of November 2025, has been 3 months since the release of the Obojima: Tales from the Tall Grass updated 2024 rules and yet there is not even a single acknowledgement of the update by Wizards of The Coast anywhere on this app and/or website. This alongside the lack of almost all updates to the book since its release this is utterly disappointing the entirety of the Obojima community. The Obojima team have allerted WOTC multiple times about this issue yet have gained no recognition. I too have personally contacted WOTC about these issues previously to similar effect. Obojima will soon be releasing their new book "Obojima: Tales From Yatamon" and I, alongside all who know about this 2024 update will be very unlikely to buy this book through D&D Beyond. I hope that posts like this bring issues like these to the D&D Beyond team. Thank you for you time.
When leveling up a bard to lvl 3 for College of the Masks - the options to choose what masks does not have any drop down options just the place holder -Choose a Level 3 Option-
Are you referring to the Tools of Performance feature in the character builder, or the Wear Mask feature on the character sheet? If you haven't chosen anything for the former, the latter will be empty.
Did you purchase the book yourself? If so, is it listed on that same page under Current Product Licenses?
If the book is shared with you instead, is this character still assigned to the campaign that's sharing it? Does the person who activated Content Sharing still have an active subscription? Is the person who bought that book still in the campaign as well?
Do you still have 1985 Games enabled for that character?
I purchased this book the day it arrived in the DNDBeyond marketplace, while it was advertised as 2024 compatible. It’s been ten months since then and we’re now two weeks into 2026–and I still can’t find any of the Obojima player options when using 2024 classes for my characters.
Am I missing something or has this still not been fixed? Just want to make sure I’m not overlooking anything!

Subclasses haven't been updated. All other features have been available since release for both systems.
Given that it's legal issues and it seems there's not good communication between teams on it, you're better off copying subclasses to the 2024 classes as homebrew.

1985 Games has the 2024 update ready to go.
WotC is waiting for 1985 Games to make the first move, & vice versa.
Likewise, 1985 Games has been under a LOT of bad press on Reddit, Tumblr & other social media for lack of AIPoC staff, poor understanding of the anime they're referencing beyond Spirited Away, & general clumsiness w/comms.

Hi there!
I'm referring to the Tools of Performance Feature - I cannot choose anything, I just have -Choose a Level 3 Option- in the dropdown.
I purchased the book myself and all is synced correctly in Account Entitlements. Not sure if there is something else that needed choosing prior to levelling up but I cannot see anyting if there is!

It’s exciting to finally have these subclasses available for 2024 classes. I did notice, however, that some are not working as intended.
The Lantern subclass for Warlocks is not granting the expanded spell list correctly. “The magic of your patron ensures you always have certain spells ready; when you reach a Warlock level specified in the Lantern Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.”
As of right now, it’s simply adding them to your selectable spells to choose from during level up like a 2014 Warlock subclass—but the text in the description of the subclass states they should always be prepared.
Also excited for finally having the subclasses in 2024! But I would like to report an issue with the Waxwork Rogue subclass where the only available enchantments options are "Bocha Glue Wax", "Maker’s Mark" and "Delicacy" (The last one only after you select Bocha Glue Wax and Maker's Mark first for some reason). But all other enchantments do not appear no matter the level of the character. This is quite a total blocker to use the rogue in D&D beyond properly.

As 2026 is approaching soon…any updates from WOTC or 1985 Games about the 2024 rules updates?
Thanks!

Still waiting for the 2024 update I have confirmed that the corporation is sitting on for no good reason.
1. Are you planning to charge for it? Or is it going to be free like the 2014 versions of The Crooked Moon content?
2. Is it the bad press that 1985 Games has that's holding back the update?
3. Are you waiting for a release that's thematically/seasonally appropriate?
4. How low on the priority docket is it?
5. If none of these, then what in blue blazes is holding Beyond devs back from implementing this 2024 update?
I would like some answers to these questions, & I'm sure I'm not the only one.
