I am working on a subclass for monks called Way of the Sentinel. As Arcane Tricksters grant a limited amount of spellcasting to Rogues I'd like to do the same with cleric spells to monks. How do I do this when making it in D&D Beyond. I can't seem to make it work.

you need to give it a feature called spellcasting
then you need to change spellcasting to yes set their spellcast mod to wisdom set 1/3 spell progression and have it prepare like wizard all of these are boxes you will see in the homebrew subclass menu
You actually have to leave the dropdowns labeled “knows all spells” and “spell prepare type” completely blank. Those are for base class Spellcasting and can only mess up your homebrew. The ONLY Spellcasting feature that WotC has used for subclasses is the version for Arcane Trickster (and Eldritch Knight) neither of which prepare spells (and even if they did they would be 1/3 casters, not “half casters.”) Since that is the only version WotC ever wrote for subclasses, that’s the only version DDB programmed to function for subclasses, so that’s the only version we can use.
Hi!
I am working on a subclass for monks called Way of the Sentinel. As Arcane Tricksters grant a limited amount of spellcasting to Rogues I'd like to do the same with cleric spells to monks. How do I do this when making it in D&D Beyond. I can't seem to make it work.

I really can't seem to make it work. Spell slots or the spell menu for that matter, won't show up on a character.
you also need to give the subclass a feature called spellcasting and also their a third caster not half and they should not know all spells

They should use "Know all spells" if the subclass will be preparing spells from the set of all spells they have access to, like Clerics and Druids do.
And there needs to be a subclass feature called "Spellcasting" to get the third-casting spell slots.
