So, my character became a vampire modeled off of one of the vampiric strains in the Elder Scrolls games. My dm home brewed some mechanics and I was wondering if I could get some help with incorporating them in to D&D Beyond. Below are the abilities and what not that I gained.
Vampiric Stages: There are 4 stages and for every stage you gain a +1 to your spell attack modifier and a -1 to your highest level spell slot. You gain a stage by completing a long rest without consuming blood from a living humanoid. Should you reach Stage 4, you become feral.
Vampiric Spellcasting: Gain access to all of the spells under the vampire section in the monster manual. The spells have to be prepared and are not added to the number of spells you know or have prepared at any given time. The exceptions are the cantrips which can each be cast once per long rest.
Running Water: Still affected by running water like a normal vampire.
Undead: Also classified as undead.
What is the best way to incorporate these abilities? Subrace, feat, subclass? Is there a way to make a drop down or check boxes for the stages so my spell attack mod is auto-calculated (same with my diminished spell slots)? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Currently, assuming your character race stays intact, I'd create it as a feat.
With regards the stages - set each stage up as an option, with modifiers etc attached to the option. You can then select the stage and have the appropriate modifiers/actions kick in.
Unfortunately, there is no way to affect spell progression (-1 maximum spell slot level), nor is there a way to add anything that will let you specifically prepare vampire spells like that.in short, I’m mot sure how close you can get to that Homebrew on this website. And I doubt a Feat will suit your needs.
What race is your character? If I were attempting to make this I would likely do it as a homebrewed version of your race.

One cannot yet attach Modifiers to Feat Options.
