Hey Sposta. I read this thread and a bunch of others, so first of all, thank you so much for all your work in the community.
I don’t know if this belongs here but I made a homebrew version of Order of the Profane Soul (INT) for the Blood Hunter class. Since I copied from the original subclass, the Pact Magic feature is there and it just works. But can I add the Eldritch Invocations feature to this subclass? The long way is to copy the feature’s text and add each invocation as a class feature option. But is there an easier way to do it?
how do you add the "can cast spells" etc to an monk subclass? I can't seem to find it and I have looked like three times over the whole thing image if possible

Okay, so about the weird an whacky Pact Magic/Spellcasting thing.
It turns out, you can give subclasses Pact slots by naming the feature pact magic instead of spellcasting, although this behaves strange:
The slots gained this way are regained on a short rest (as they should), however, they use the normal spell progression of a 1/3 caster (2 spell slots at lvl 3, 3 at lvl 4, etc.) unless you multiclass into a warlock (or bloodhunter who gains their own pact magic through a subclass), in which case the spell slots are calculated correctly.
This also works in reverse, as spell slots gained from a spellcasting (not pact magic) subclass from blood hunter (and i assume warlock as well) are correctly regained on a short rest, but follow the pact magic spell progression unless multiclassed into a "normal" spellcaster.

Yes, I am aware. It gets weirder than that. Add Pact Magic to a subclass for any full Spellcaster such as sorcerer and pump it up to 11th level.
Let me know if you figure out how to build this out for a 2024 class, the code you have and copying the text from the 1/3 caster tables didn't work
I'm having the same issue. It only adds a pick list for cantrips (under add spells) but no ability to learn a cantrip and it shows nothing of first level spells or spell slots

What didn’t work exactly? The code I provided is simply to embed the table, and that’s all it does. It doesn’t actually do anything else. So when you say it “didn’t work,” I’m not sure what you mean exactly, and therefore can’t tell you how to fix it.

subclass creation screenshots above here is what I see in the character sheet
The Monk is not part of the new updated Basic Rules, so that might be the problem, but it might not. It could also be because of other reasons as well. Tell me, are you writing this subclass for the new updated version of the Monk, or the old Legacy version? Did you just start it today since the last DDB update, or had you started it before?
I just tested it on a fighter subclass and it’s all working as expected: (https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/131344502/hes0xT). That’s a character you can check out, and here are screenshots of the relevant portions of the Basic Information portion and the Spellcasting feature. I copy/pasted the exact code for the table from this thread.
I suggest trying three things specifically in the following ordert:
Resave your whole subclass, wait 20 minutes, then test it on a brand new character.
Try starting over from scratch with a new subclass specifically for the new updated monk class.
Try it on a Fighter or Rogue and see if that works.
If re-saving works then you’re golden. If it doesn’t, then it might be because your subclass is stuck halfway between editions, so starting over should fix it. I know that sucks, but unfortunately it might be the only solution. If that still doesn’t work then trying it on a subclass for one of the classes that has such an official subclass might indicate that it now only works for those classes now as opposed to before when it worked for any non-caster class.

I'm trying to recreate this homebrew class for the old monk on to new monk chassis
I have already tried creating it on the new monk several times. But per your suggestion I will try again fresh in the morning and after that I will try on fighter/rogue
I'm trying to add the same subclass and running into the same issues. I just tried it on a fighter, and it works. I feel like Beyond his having an issue with adding spellcasting to the Monk class. I've tried it on both the 2024 Monk and the legacy Monk. Neither were able to learn spells or have spell slots.

I can get it to work with the old monk still, but I (also trying to recreate the arcane hand lmao) tried building it on the new monk and it didn't work.
Was able to make the subclass with Fighter and Rogue and not for the Barbarian, so it might be one of two problems. Either it only works on free content (I'm a basic user, if that matters) or it only works for classes that already have a 1/3 caster class. Hopefully it'll get fixed soon because the alternative would be building a Legacy Arcane Hand subclass that overwrites the Legacy Monk class features to make it into the 2024 monk, which I was struggling to do.
Yeah, hopefully it will not be that way permanently, but I hate to say it that it might. If WotC doesn’t publish ⅓ casters for those classes then creating such subclasses might never become possible on DDB. 🤷♂️
I tried copying and pasting the code for the ⅓ spell progress using the code insert thing and it just shows as text any way to fix this?
Thank you for the help, ^^^ this was resolved

The same way you would for a Barbarian, just like I described in the first post in this thread: (https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/119032-how-to-add-spellcasting-to-subclasses-for?comment=1). Yes, there’s even a picture.
