Heyo, I recently got into DnD beyond and loved how clean and smooth everything on character sheets are. However, I want to start making homebrews based of the World of Warcraft universe, and I am copying the Warcraft 5e handbook and trying to implement it into DnD beyond for personal use. Yet, a few issues have arisen, mainly the base class features when creating subclasses. For example, the Warcraft handbook's Warrior has an Inner Rage mechanic, which is a more complex version of the Barbarian's Rage, and therefore they clash and don't really work on a character sheet together. I asked a friend, and he told me about optional class features which can disable core features, I don't know if that is true or not, but apparently I need Tasha's Cauldron of Everything to access it in the first place. So I was wondering, is there either a blank class that I can make subclasses from or does the method my friend suggested actually work? If so, could I buy the optional class feature separately from the full book. Also, if none of this can be solved, would someone want to help me convert the handbook into DnD beyond at all? Maybe someone who has much better knowledge about this website than me.
This does not exist, and your friend was probally lying, because it is pretty well known that this does not work.At least not the way your describing it, and just not very well in general.
I asked a friend, and he told me about optional class features which can disable core features….
Your friend was mistaken. Some people thought that was possible for us (regular folks) to o do that right at first, and then everyone discovered that it was not true. It is technically possible, but not for us, wWe only have user-level privileges in the content creator (aka “homebrewer”). To create optional features capability of replacing base class features, admin-level privileges are required. Basically only staff can do that, and they’re only allowed to do what WotC publishes, and apparently only what they publish in English.
Tasha’s allows you to create subclasses with optional overrides for features in that subclass, but not for base class feature overrides. Your friend must’ve been mistaken. Tasha’s does include base class overrides, but only the published WotC overrides are reflected in the character builder. Sorry. Id love to be able to create classes, alas.

We don't facilitate homebrew classes, or homebrew variations of the core classes, at this time, sorry!

Is this something ya'll are considering?
I honestly think this is a huge and kind of hard-to-forgive hole in the service. I mean how would you not have identified this as a need early on?
