I have been trying to add custom items from Adventure League modules to my A.L. characters. Such items are usually pretty close to regular DM Guide content due to WOTC guidelines. Trying to make homebrew items is regularly blocked by
'Your item is too similar to existing items to be shared.'
I regularly wish someone else had entered these when I try to enter them, so I think removing this restriction would be helpful?
It would be against the rules to share those items anyway since they are not your own personal creations but instead the work of someone else. That’s a violation of the rules you are essentially attesting to, by hitting that button.
You know how every time you sign up for something online or download an app or whatever that thing pops up and makes you cross your heart and electronically pinky swear that you read some massive document (that nobody ever reads), and that you understand it all (which nobody can because it’s written in Internal legalese), and that you agree to all of it (which nobody ever would if they could read and understand it)? And even though it’s a boldfaced lie you hit yes you just want to get on with your dat (which everyone does because everyone knows they’re all out to screw the bejeepers outta aall of us anywhichway they can). The popup for sharing homebrew here is waaayy less formal about it, and it doesn’t make people check little boxes or anything, but it does politely tell people to go look at the guidelines via a convenient link (which nobody ever does because they assume it’s just like everywhere else).
DDB’s Shared Homebrew Content Rules and Guidelines are actually not like everywhere else. They’re not too interminably long to slog through, nor were they intentionally written in a way so as to be specifically incomprehensible. Turns out they actually want people to read and understand the whole thing. (It’s actually a little eerie in that “yeah, a little… too quiet” kind of a way….😰 Or maybe it’s an honest to goodness proverbial unicorn….🤔 The world may never know….🤷♂️)

I heard that Adventure league was getting rid of the PHB+1 rule. Is this true or an internet non-truth thing?
If true it would be awesome!
They got rid of it mon the ago.
