Hey all, I'm sure there is an obvious answer to this that I've been overlooking, but I've been unable to solve this riddle.
I'm trying to help my DM out by creating a homebrew item he awarded recently. It's a longbow that does can do other stuff, but the issue I've been having is that it is a +2 to damage, but NOT attack. For the life of me, I can't get it to include the +2 AND the damage from dexterity. If anyone has any recommendations, or even just an example of an "official" item I can use as a base to see what the settings should be, I'd greatly appreciate it.
After you add anything to, change anything on, or remove anything from any homebrew, you MUST re-save the entire thing using the main [SAVE CHANGES] button under Basic Information or the system won’t pick up your changes automatically. After that it can sometimes take up to 20 minutes for those changes to push through to the character builder/sheet.
It might just be a thing. Making those changes seems to reflect correctly in the notes column on the character sheet, but the damage column doesn't show the +2 damage. Ultimately, I think I'll just settle for customizing the item to override the modifier.

Thanks in advance for your time.
I believe it should just be the following:
Modifier: Damage->Subtype: Piercing->Fixed Value: 2

Yeah, that’s about the best it can do.

At least that means I can stop beating my head into the wall. Thanks!
