Hello, I am trying to create a subclass feature that allows for a choice of damage type. The third level feature, Blood Smite, allows you to choose between cold, fire, and lightning damage, however I am having issues getting it to be selected in the character builder while testing it. I select the damage type and the selection bar remains highlighted in blue and the choice does not show up on the character sheet all of the time. Sometimes I can get it to show up on the sheet, but it will say no choice selected above where it shows the choice.
I am sure Sposta will be along to correct me if I am wrong again, but to my understanding of the problem, you could try verifying that the separate options do not have the "option is granted" box checked.
Alternatively, you could have only one option (leave the damage type blank) and have the damage choice as flavor text.
Only mods/staff are able to look at the homebrew subclass itself, but if you post the url to a character sheet that uses the subclass, we might be able to get some idea of what's going on and make suggestions. Either way, don't publish the homebrew.

You most likely did not set up all of your Options correctly, one (or more) of them has something a li’l “off” about it. It’s pro’ly either something minor or l something only on some of them or it wouldn’t work at all. I gave an in-depth tutorial of how to properly set up Options here: (https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/131411-a-homebrewers-how-to-faq). Look under “Subclasses & Races” #1 for the tutorial.

I did have the damage types set as "is granted" removing that from each of them solved the issue. Thank you!
