New to designing hombrew on DDB and I'm trying to make sure all abilities translate onto the character sheet correctly. One of the abilities allows a player to replaces the monks Ki save and Unarmored Defence modifier with CON instead of WIS. Is there a way to properly represent that in the calculated code on the sheet? Or will it always default to WIS for the core class features?
It will always default to Wis for the core class feature, please see the Homebrew Subclasses & Races FAQ #6: (https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/131411-a-homebrewers-how-to-faq). What you can do is add a subclass feature that is also named “Ki” and it might (maybe, possibly) overwrite the base class feature on the character sheet. Even if it doesn’t, the sheet will display them near each other so the player will be able to see them both. That’s the best you can do. The snippet you would use is {{savedc:con}}.
Awesome thank you very much. I think instead of making a new block if text I will just let it be and then use "CON (DC XX) or WIS (DC XX)" when referring to the saves in the snippets, that way the player can decide innthe moment.
