I play a "path of the wildfire" barbarian in a game with my friends. I was curious about something. So at level 4 i took the sentinel feat and the subclass gives this:
"You can use your bonus action on each of your turns to summon a fiery weapon in a free hand and immediately make a special melee weapon attack using it against a creature within 60 feet. You are proficient with this attack, and it adds your Strength modifier to its attack rolls, but not its damage rolls. On a hit, it deals 1d8 fire damage. After making this attack, the fiery weapon fizzles out."
So i was wondering if sentinel applies to this because that would be pretty op and i would definately need to talk to my dm about this.
No, the Sentinel feat would not interact with that class feature RAW, because the Sentinel feat only deals with Opportunity Attacks, which are made using a Reaction, and that subclass feature only creates that fiery weapon only as a bonus action.
