I wanted to play a Lore Master, which is UA, but D&D Beyond hasn't added it yet. How would I go about adding it via homebrew? There is a homebrew Lore Master available, but it is different than the UA version (it removes stuff I want and added a bunch of stuff I don't care about). I just want the UA version (until D&D Beyond finally adds all the rest of the UA content).
As the lore master was released before January 2018, DDB will not have it in the system as UA. You can create a homebrew subclass and use it privately. As it is UA, you should not publish it as it will be taken down.
"The relevant equation is: Knowledge = power = energy = matter = mass; a good bookshop is just a genteel Black Hole that knows how to read." - Terry Pratchett
Following on from what Astromancer said, it is very unlikely that the version of the Lore Master already published on Unearthed Arcana will be published on D&D Beyond.
Unearthed Arcana is released by Wizards of the Coast as playtest material and thus once they have completed the feedback period for that UA content, they consider the content to be expired and no longer relevant.
As of January this year (2018) D&D Beyond started adding in the contents from each Unearthed Arcana article as it was published.
There are currently no plans to go back and add expired content from prior to that date.
It is, however, very likely that you'll see a new version of the Lore Master in an official release sometime.
