To preface, I'm attempting to create a variant race from the Compendium of Forgotten Secrets(COFS) for private use (although i'm new and accidentally shared it with the public, hope i don't get banned or something).
I have a free account (I know, I know) and I cannot see the homebrew in the campaign's character builder that I am in. I can see other's in the campaign's homebrew, and I can see other spell, feats, and subclasses that I and others have created. I have placed the variant in the "human" category, I have ticked the checkbox in edit to force variant, but I still cannot see what I am missing. If I'm not mistaken, I need not fill in age/physical stats, etc because this is not a subclass or a new race but a variant. That being said, I'm certain I'm missing something as other races/subraces/variants from others are showing up.
I have even attempted to use the existing copy of Variant human as a template to add the class in by just adjusting the name, description, and traits to see if that works, turns out it does not for me. Does anyone have any guidance?
Sorry, actually figured out the reason and couldn't find my post to change it.
So, it apparently is some sort of dndbeyond thing, because it showed up in the character creation and worked fine for a few minutes. I altered the variant again, and now it's gone again.
Every time you alter anything you have to re-save the whole homebrew using the main save button. The time it takes to push things through to the character sheet/creator is anywhere from instantaneous to 20 minutes.

Did you tell the variant which traits replace which other traits?

Re-save your homebrew and be patient.

I will remember to hit that Save, I was thinking I had been, but you're right patience is key.
Saving the Modifier (or whatever) is fine, but the system is only triggered to pick up the changes when the main save button is hit.
