I don't get it...in order to view a spell's details, the user has to have purchased the spell (with the exception of what's in the basic rules). Same for subclasses. Now, if I create a subclass of a sorcerer, it's restricted to users who've bought the PHB as sorcerers are not in the basic rules BUT I can still share the homebrew sorcerer subclass for those who have.
But if I add a spell like Flock of Familiars (which I've purchased) to a subclass, I can't share the subclass at all.

Is this intended or am I doing something wrong?
The Sorcerer Class (and all the others too except for Artificer) appear in the SRD (which is just as free as the basic rules), so everyone on DDB can play a Sorcerer for free. Therefore, you can share subclasses for it.
The only spells you can include on a homebrew and still be shared are from the Basic Rules, the SRD (DDB groups them together under Basic Rules) and the Elemental Evil Player’s Companion which was also published for free. You can find the complete list here:

This is intended. The original intent was for someone who hasn’t purchased the same products as you can use the subclass to the fullest extent.
Side note: sorcerers are SRD material and Flock of familiars is not as official as other spells.

PS- You don’t need to share it to use it. If you are in a campaign, everyone in that campaign can use each other’s homebrews.
