Speaking quietly again to his comrades, Randall repeats, "Let the retreating archer go--we need someone to go back and report to the main horde that the town is heavily defended."

Randall answers, "I say we set up torches behind the barricades being held up by our erstwhile "defenders" and set the rest of the scene as best we can to make it look like a large force is ready to defend the town as nightfall approaches. Then we ride off and circle the army at a distance." Thinking for a moment, he says, "If they stay together as a large group, we may want to lay low for awhile--they have the advantage at night, after all. If we can catch some stragglers at the fringes of the army, we can make it seem like the cavalry is flanking them as their main force heads to attack the town, and that could delay them more. What do you think?"

“Put the torches outside the walls. No sense in letting them see inside to learn the truth more easily. And I think it’s time to go. We can’t stand against the army. We’ve given the villagers a head start. It’s time to get our own distance before we’re badly outnumbered.”
Syvis nods at Randall, "Yes, we shall draw them toward the barricade while we ride out and flank them on the other side. We better get going, the scout already went back to report."

"I think we should get some distance aswell, maybe help another village and get some barricades up there as well. Staying here seems like suicide. Better to plan some flanking attack with the army in the city if we want to do that. Guess we will slow them down quiet a bit with our latest move."
