GOBLIN HORDE

Randall:

Making a noise of disgust, Randall says to any in the party who will listen, “We stand here playing games while the refugees stand helpless outside the walls of the city, the goblin horde getting closer every minute.  Let us at least find someone in authority who will help them instead of wasting our time with games!”

Randall’s temper flares as he is unable to understand the city leader’s apparent plan to leave their neighbors outside the protection of the walls to be slaughtered by the goblins.

Bow having been quiet for some time shrugs at Randall. 

"I don't understand either why the refugees haven't been let in, but lets not fight each other. Who knows maybe the halfling there can help if Ceo beats him, or maybe Ceo is so good he can earn enough for hiring boats. However, while Ceo does that let us talk to some merchants. Who knows, maybe they can let the Refugees enter in exchange for some help from us in other matters."

Randall:

”Thank you, Bow.  Voicing my frustrations won’t help anyone anyway, and your suggestion is a good one.  Let’s go,” responds Randall, following Bow towards a likely looking merchant.

”If we get word the goblin horde approaches, though, and the refugees are still kept outside, I will go join them to fight off the goblins for as long as I can—perhaps an example of one of Lathander’s faithful will shame the city into protecting their helpless neighbors,” he adds with a determined voice.

“Bow, Randall… I think the spires are the way to go. But I’m afraid those fat cats might be a bit too disconnected from the people. I’ll follow your lead.” Petcan looks nervous staring up at them. Perhaps a bit of fear, as he looks at his dark Drow’s skin and the people around him who are so clearly not like him. 

May I please join the campaign?

Yes, I’d like to play the way the game was originally intended, and use Perception to watch the ball, and the halfling’s hands

Ceo, having a past with crooks, knows to be sceptical, but is still quite intrigued. He'll bite. Placing four gold on the counter he says;

"Eyes that are quick see that which is moving, but eyes that are careful see where it is going." Bardic Inspiration on self: 5

Then, as the Halfling moves around the cups says;

"Quick hands are a good trait, but rarely take the prize." Cutting words: 6 is taken off his Sleight of Hand check

So uh… what now?

Bow will walk up to one of the richer looking merchants.

"Hello good sir, my name is Bow, and these are brother Randall and Petcan. We were wondering if we could take a bit of your time for some urgent matters?"

"I can fully understand good sir, and I wasn't planning to place an order. However, we were wondering if you, and maybe some friends/acquittances, could help us out to get some refugees, we were able to save from the goblins, into safety. Unfortunately it seems the city won't let them get into the city for a bit of safety. Therefore, we went to see if we could find some ships that could stow them for travelling to a safe place."

Randall:

“Indeed, though the bulk of the credit belongs with the refugees themselves, who remained calm and left their homes quickly, then traveled carefully and swiftly even as the goblin hordes approached.  Mayor Reeves kept them together and had us scout ahead to deal with dangers along the way, but now they have been denied entry into the city.  Can you help us, or direct us to one who can?” Randall asks on behalf of the refugees.

Petcan looks excited at this smallest bit of headway. 

“Yes! I mean, yes, that can be arranged. We’ll come back tonight with him.” 

Ceo, catching up to everyone else, says; “hey, so the Halfling was a dead end, like you said. I hope you guys had more luck? Maybe we can find a smithy for these Hook Horror things?”

Randall:

”Sounds good, Ceo, let’s do that, then go get Mayor Reeves.  Hopefully he can convince the merchant Mynash to help his people,” responds Randall.

"At least he seemed impressed, so maybe if we tell him we could help him with some things he might be inclined to help as well."

(I’d like to get Petcan geared up once we get some money. Still pretty broke at this point, starting money only)

Petcan goes looking for someplace to sit down, get a drink, and let the stress out of his neck even for just an hour or two. 

Ok but can I find a place to turn the hooks into tiger swords or is this a way of saying “stop asking you can’t have that yet?” If it is I totally understand, I would just like a definite answer.
