Woe has been silent through it all. She was prepared to fight. But she hadn't engaged. She had been very aware of how quickly situations can get out of hand from her own experience on the first day on the boat.
She is struggling if she should use the sending stones to get a message across. She should probably try. But she won't be able to tell anyone that she did! Then again, it was out of the question that she would use the stones inside their room...
Woe can hear the thunder roll closer. This is not good, this is not good...
"Can you all hear that thunderstorm coming closer? Make sure everything is fixed in here. Get your stuff sorted so that nothing can fall around." Then she uses her rope to tie that spare water tank with the weird in it to a bed post.
Then she reaches in her backpack and takes out the sending stone. She makes sure no-one is watching. Then she'll head out to the privy...
There she takes out the Sending Stone from her pocket. She thinks long about the message, but then speaks into the stone:
"Signore, help! Send Nixon from the kitchen to Lord Viscardi’s guild house. Message: Polly found as stowaway on our ship. She is safe! Greetings Woe"
A little nervous she stays hidden in the room to wait for a reply. This better work...
“That’s something I wouldn’t ask of him. Remember the Captain is his boss and I letting you down to talk to Lera would be a direct act against orders. I don’t want to get him into any trouble. I might be able to convince him to send a message down to her. That is if I see him again.”
Singe stand up from his hammock and folds up a piece of paper. He walks over to a lit candle and use the melted wax along with Viscardi's pin as a makeshift seal. Singe summons Barry, there's a long pause. He opens the window and Barry flies out, letter grasped between his talons. Singe turns to the group, "Shortly after we arrive in Chult, we will have a reply to our dilemma." He nods to Polly.

There's a long silence for Woe as she waits for a reply. The ship rocks and thunder is heard in the distance once again.
Will message tomorrow. Same time.
That's all that Signore says. His voice and tone are exactly as she remembers, somewhat uninterested and annoyed at being disturbed. You get the feeling he'll be telling Lord Eltan before he tells some kitchenhand.
Woe walks back into the room and finds Polly asleep. Everybody is on edge. Woe sits down and takes the lute out. She'll just pluck a few notes here and there, starting to produce a soothing melody. Something to calm everyone down and to take their minds off the storm outside.
The guards took Lera into custody, chaining her hands behind her and gagging her. They led the teenager below deck, and down the hallway toward the officer quarters. As soon as Lera saw Polly being released to her father's arms, all of the fight went out of her. She complied quietly, taking in the individual cells of the brig. They were small, with no benches or furnishings. The only thing she could see in the cell were chains on the wall. They carefully unchained her arms, and began to chain her to the wall of your cell, her arms above your head. That's going to be sore later, she thought to herself. They stepped out, and closed the door behind them. Lera was left standing awkwardlt, no way to sit or get comfortable. "You will be unchained for food," one says, peering through the bars at the sorcerer. "And to relieve yourself. You will not have any visitors. Consider yourself lucky."
Honestly, all things considered, she did find herself lucky. It was probably especially lucky that they had left the gag in her mouth, because she had some great comeback lines that they probably would not have appreciated.
Zamar nods as he looks at Perrin. "That's fair. I don't want to get him in trouble, but the captain merely said she was under arrest. She never said no visitors, did she? I know it seems like a loophole, but imagine if it were your daughter. I'm trying to go about this the right way but my mind is full of all sorts of bad ideas right now. Like putting the brig guard to sleep." He sits on the bed and his shoulders slump. "I can't even be mad at her. She was doing the right thing. These animals were going to hurt a child. If Lera didn't stand up for her, I'd have been disappointed." He breathes slowly, centering himself. "I wonder if Garsalfan has gadget or trinket I could borrow."
Zamar turns to Polly and smiles at her. "Hey, Polls. Feeling any better? Let's not worry about trouble and apologies for now. Want to tell us how you got here and who your new friend is?"
“I wouldn’t try that Zamar. Like I said I’ll see if we can messages across. Also, I think no visitations was implied when we were basically locked up in our rooms. We’re also in under arrest just a different kind than her.” He explains to Zamar.
Perrin will then turn to Polly and try to put on a bright smile. “Yeah Polly. Tells all about how you got on board. You must have been super smart and clever to sneak on like that. But, I’m also curious why did you decide to sneak on?”
Polly sniffled and looked away, shyly. "I-I didn't wanna be alone. E is gone. You all were leaving. It was just going to be Mr. Whistler and me. I asked Lera if I could come along, she she said she couldn't bring me." She rubbed at her puffy eyes. "So, I thought if I sneaked into the boat, nobody could say no." She looked up again at the group. "I don't wanna wait ten years to be an adventurer! That's forever!" Polly looked down at the water tank and continued. "This is Mr. Drippy and he's my friend! I found him at my hiding place, and we talked for three whole days! He said he would keep me safe." She bit her lip. "I thought I had enough food to make it the whole trip, but this morning, I realized I had nothing left. I didn't steal food, I swear! I brought my own! But when I started smelling lunch, I got really hungry. I knew where you were staying. I..." she paused looking away embarrassed. "I spied on you a few times. So I thought maybe if I let Lera know I was hungry, I'd get some food. But that's when I got caught and..." She stopped, tears rolling down her cheeks again. "Please, don't tell E about this! Not now! He's so busy and if he gets worried... things could go bad. Tell him after?"
Zamar rubs her back. "It's true. Things could go bad. But don't you think Whistler knows you are gone by now? He must have told your brother. How much worse will it be if he finds out we could have let him know you are safe and didn't. I am pretty sure this already *is* after. If Lera was missing for days, I'd be worried sick. I know you may get into trouble, but I will do what I can to talk to your brother on your behalf. I'm sorry you got caught. And I'm sorry they scared you. Not everyone in the world is as kind to small ones as Lera."
"NO!" Polly yelled, then looked embarrassed again. "Mr. Whistler wouldn't tell E! Do you know how much trouble he'd get into? E is doing important stuff and mustn't be bothered! Everything would fall apart if he got angry and left Water... Water... Waterdown?" She grabbed Zamar's arm, and began begging. "Please, please, please! If you hafta tell someone, tell Mr. Whistler. Only Mr. Whistler!"
Polly shrugged and gave Zamar huge, watery eyes. "I don't wanna go back! I wanna go on an adventure with you! I have Mr. Drippy now! He will protect me! I won't get in the way and I can help! I promise!" This was emphasized with a huge yawn. "I'm hungry," she whined.
Soon after the being rescued, Polly is fast asleep. As Woe enters the cabin, the ship shakes and another wave of thunder is heard in the distance. Eventually the sounds of a creaking ship get overrun by the sounds of pouring rain. Everyone feels a shift in the normal rocking, and now they're met with a roll as the ship climbs from one large large roll of waves to the next.
Dinner is served rather early. As promised, a large portion of the food, far more than Lera would have ever eaten, has been removed from the platter. It seems as thought the crew prepared food that wouldn't upset the stomach. Most of the meal is composted of hard breads and cups of broth. "A light meal for the night," the crewman says. "Stomachs will be churning..."
Shortly after the meal, Fist Talle stops by. He gives Perrin a little smile before addressing everyone. "Flame Wyre will prolly let her out long before we reach the Port," he says, bracing himself in the doorway as the ship shakes. "She's never actually thrown anyone off the ship. Lera is fine. I took care of her and removed the gag. As long as she doesn't do anything horrible like kill someone or burn the ship down, s-she'll be fine. Was there anything you wanted me to pass on to her?"
Woe is already not feeling too well. She has forced herself to have a few sips of broth but stores the bread away for later.
When Fist Talle announces that Lera is 'alright', Woe feels a little better. She must find a way to talk to Flame Wyre. Just not tonight. Tonight she'll just hang on for dear life.
Zamar thanks Talle for bringing news. "Tell her to be strong and that we will not let anything happen to her. And if Flame Wyre has never thrown anyone overboard, perhaps she needs a new threat. None of that would have happened if we hadn't seriously thought she planned to murder a six-year old child. But that is not your concern. You have been nothing but gracious and helpful. I'm sorry for any trouble we caused you. If there is anything you can do to make this easier on her without getting yourself in trouble, I would appreciate it."
Shanolia gulps down several deep breaths, ignoring the meal entirely. Her mask is around her neck rather than shielding her face; just in case. Once Fist Talle makes an appearance, she decides to send a message to Lera.
"Do me a favour, would you?" She takes another breath. "Give her a solid smack on her arse and tell her 'The Spider sends her regards.'"
