(Painful!). At least it was not a disintegrate spell!
Not very worried. But right after getting drunk from the fumes is ouch. Ember will be glad of a fight where he can feel less like he is in above his head.

This Mug immediately shared with me a transcendental tale of an Infinite Mug that anchors the Universe and keeps it from folding in on itself. I filed this report under "illogical nonsense" and asked why its sign is in Times New Roman font, when it is basic knowledge that Arial Black is a far superior font. I wondered: How did this mug even get past the assembly line with its theistic beliefs and poor font choices?
quote from Romantically Apocalyptic byVitaly S Alexius
The dryad continues to play as she begins to move toward another side road. Her song is beautiful, a lyrical tune that calls to you with feelings of longing and the promise of all that is good. The gathered group follows the dryad, mesmerized. Ember, Kellen, and Triss feel compelled to follow as well. You’ve really never heard music like this and you mustn’t let the dryad move too far from you. Celesta and Tellior, you are finding the music delightful as well. You do notice that of the half-dozen Hedgegrove citizens, one elf and one gnome seem to be hesitating a little. They pull on the sleeves of their friends to slow them, but their friends are determined to follow the dryad. You also notice a large tree growing on one side of the road ahead, next to the hedge. This is the first tree that you’ve seen in Hedgegrove.
(Celesta and Tellior, what would you like to do?)

Celesta looks at the elf and gnome who are trying to get their friends to resist and says . “The music is beautiful indeed- but how do we break the spell? my companions and I are on urgent business and can’t follow- is this a regular occurrence here? “.
she pulls on ember’s arm to try to distract from the song.
If that doesn’t work she calls to the Dryad. “My companions and I are on important business. We would love to hear your song later!”
As he sees the others move to follow the dryad, Tellior steps in front of Kellen to block his path. Meanwhile he tries to get a hold of Triss' arm. "Hey, we're heading the OTHER way! Come on!"
If this has no effect, he then grabs his cornett. Just going for loud, the first note comes out terrible. "Stupid tooth! That's... ugh!"
Tellior is clearly upset but once again tries to play. Again, the goal is loud - though he can't help but strive for a beautiful sounding tone - as he plays a boisterous, angry sounding charge on the horn. He's hoping the noise might break the charm of the dryad music.
Performance check: 19
(OOC - Would we, or Tellior specifically, know of the likely connection between dryads and trees? Roll to check?)
As Celesta calls out, the gnome answers, “I’ve not seen this before. We were just enjoying the music, but now I question this dryad’s intentions.” She continues tugging on her friends, but they resist her pull and keep moving toward the dryad and tree. The elf steps in front of their friend and slaps him in the face, trying to snap him out of it. The friend scowls at them, says, “What’d you do that for? Can’t I just enjoy the music?” He pushes past the friend who slapped him and continues following the music. When Celesta calls out to the dryad, she is ignored. Meanwhile, as Tellior steps in front of Kellen, the gnome just steps quickly around him and continues on his way.
(Everyone, please read spoiler)
Celesta and Ember, roll to see if Celesta can hold Ember back. Celesta, roll Athletics. Ember roll Athletics or Acrobatics.
For grabbing Triss, same contest: Tellior roll Athletics, Triss roll Athletics or Acrobatics. We’ll resolve the cornett performance after we see what happens here.
By the way, Ember, Kellen, and Triss, you can talk and do what you like, but you really, really want to keep listening to this dryad. She is lovely and her music is unlike anything you’ve heard before. You wish your friends would just allow you to keep following without interrupting.
Finally, you all know that a dryad is a fey spirit who is linked in some way to a tree. The dryad’s wellbeing is dependent on the health of the tree. If Tellior is trying to dredge up more details about this relationship, he can roll Arcana.

Listen, Triss has heard some music in their life. Their friends play pretty well, too. But this, this is like absolutely nothing they've ever heard before. And, well, the beautiful dryad playing the music only helps lift the entrancing nature of the music. A smile on their lips, Triss steps forward to follow the dryad. They hear Tellior talking. They're sure he's saying something important; he's usually saying something important. But Triss has gotta keep listening to this music. They try and shrug him off, to twist out of his grasp.

Kellen is drawn toward the dryad and the enchanted music. It is unlike anything he has ever heard before. It calls to him and awakens a song in his heart, filling his mind and soul with a bright, warm feeling. He just wants to get closer. He easily steps around Tellior when he moves in front of him, his eyes fixed on the dryad as he continues to follow. “Isn’t that the most beautiful song you have ever heard, Tell? I wish I could play like that. It sounds like sunshine. We must find out where they are going.”
Ember pushes out of Celesta’s grasp and continues forward. Tellior manages to keep a grip on Triss’ arm. She isn’t happy about being held back. Parolanta is trailing behind all of you saying, “This doesn’t seem right. We should leave.”
At this point, the dryad has backed up just beyond the tree. A satyr and an elf are the closest ones behind her. Suddenly a branch from the tree slams down at the satyr, bludgeoning him badly. It looks like the kind of hit that would take any one of you out completely. The satyr seems to be made of tough stuff, because he staggers sideways, shakes his head a bit, but looks like he will continue toward the dryad. She laughs and says, “Oh, my dear, you can stop here. My tree will take care of you soon enough.” Then she continues playing her flute.
(At this act of violence, Ember, Kellen, and Triss can make another Wisdom saving throw. Also, let’s all roll initiative, just in case this turns into a fight. The tree certainly seems aggressive.)

When the satyr is attacked, the elf who is closest to the tree suddenly rubs his eyes and seems to take in the tree, the dryad, and the injured satyr more clearly. “What? Oh no! No-no-no-no-no!” He disengages from the tree and retreats about 30 feet, stopping right in front of Ember. Seeing that their friend has come to his senses, the other elf does the same. Both pull out longbows and prepare to fire. One of the gnomes also seems to break free of whatever strange charm had fallen over her. With help from her friend, they are able to grapple and drag the third gnome about 10 feet back from the tree.
