OOC: Upon returning to Ruskivek, you learned that a large amount of intelligent undead had been awakening and returning to the city. You met one of these Returned in Ruskivek, who was from a place called Ersetu. Following that lead, the closest large city to Ersetu is Arketh, which would take many months of travel on foot. Mitsi at the Order of Thalassa informed you of a quicker route, that of transporting through the fey to the moon Skogyr (where you are now), then finding a teleportation circle that would take you to Arketh, where the Order of Astar controls access to Skogyr.
The Ranik village was not your destination, but was the first place you came across upon arriving on Skogyr.
Aisha pondered this scenario for a bit. To be honest, all this hard thinking had been a strain on the poor cat, who was used to just acting and reacting, and only thinking when she thought something was dangerous. Regardless, she sighs and offers the best smile she can muster Well be cautious. Let someone take the risk and eat some of the food frrrom yourr crops, and if no harrm comes to them, you can let down yourrr defenses. Aisha is just saying to be safe. But this one and her companions had forgotten something. Beforre we strike out on ourr own again, purrhaps you know of somewhere within your territory that has a circle of magics? Not quite like the one that got us here, though it may not be so different... she said, considering how they got here was basically a hypno-toad teleportation... in a wooded area...
But it might also have circles or other patterns ... she says, drawing a basic general idea that is at best, an apprentices first-time guesswork of what one might look like. We arre trying to get to Arketh. She adds at the end, on the off chance that the Ranik already knew how and that all her previous explaination was unessecary.
"You speak of a teleportation circle. There is one near," the Ranik speaker points away from the village, further east than the forest the party came from. "It is guarded by the Satyr. We could use it. In past years. But no longer. The Satyr have closed it. They say it is dangerous."
"Dangerous? Did they say why it was dangerous? We really need to use it to get to Arketh." Harmony then said back as well, hoping that they can convince these Satyr to open it up again for them.
As Garu asks if the ycan show us the way, an oddly shaped, red-skinned creature approaches.
Aisha cuts in, for once remembering enough of what was going on to point out the semi-obvious. Purrobably the same type of danger we have dealt with already. Purrhaps not exactly the same, but similar. We should still ask for specifics, howeverrr if that is where it is, that is where we will go.
We will have to see if they are willing to open it, even if they have to close it behind us. We just need to make sure there's a way for us to tell them that its 'us' if we succeed... on the off chance we don't get another free transport from we know whos.
But yes, if yo ucan show us the way, that would be nice.. if nyot, simply give us a dirrection, and some landmarks to look out for.
"We do not know why. We were told of danger. And we are not fighters. But I can take you. I can show you to the edge. Of the forest. Where the Satyr guard," the Ranik says.
OOC: If we are ready to depart from the Ranik village, let's establish a new marching order (front, middle or back - if middle rank, any extra traveling activity like mapping or foraging?) now that we are missing Hyperion.
That would be apprrreciated. We are glad we could help with your situation for what it's worth.
Aisha will take middle, with Tsavi joining whoever's in the rear, or BEING the rear if preferred by Harmony. And as Aisha has no cartog tools, she'll forage enough for snacks, but not really for meals.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC: I will assume that Harmony is in the back rank with T'savi.

With your Ranik escort, you are led across the rolling fields of Skogyr's surface, away from the mountains and the forest you have seen thus far, and perpendicular to the mountain stream. The journey is peaceful, with the temperature growing slightly colder as twilight sets in. After a half a day of travel, you approach the entrance to another forest, this one smaller than the one you were teleported into.
"This is as far. As I can take you. You will find. The Satyr within," the Ranik croaks.
"You are welcome. In Ranik any time. Thank you for what. You have done for us."
"Thank you and of course, anything to help out really." Harmony says back to the Ranik, nodding as she smiles. Then she looks to the forest entrance, hoping that these Satyr are nice.
Aisha nods her thanks at the frogman. While she didn't like frogs much, she did still somewhat regret (both now and in the other times) how her mentality to rush to save the worlds left her and the others little time to actually get to know the people, or places they were at. They got to learn little more than the 'need to know' but it was, unfortunately, in her mind what had to be done.
it was nyo problem. We did a thing, and now you are doing a thing. A fair exchange, no? If not for our duty we would stay. We wish you all happiness. So just keep your fingers crrossed that we will be lucky within.Aisha doubts we will crrross paths once more, but it is heartening to know that should we, we will be as frrriends. she says.... once more urging what was left of the band onward into the forest, now (much to her dislike) taking the lead, with Tsavi staying in the rear. Aisha waiting for the Ranik to say anything he needed to before moving in, and deciding to throw caution to the wind. Shouting out one word:
A short distance into the forest, Aisha's call is met with a hail of arrows. The missiles land neatly in a line, at least thirty feet ahead of the party's march; a clear warning shot.
"This forest is dangerous," a man's voice calls out. "And if you have arrived with aggression toward us in your hearts, then even more so," he is answered by a deeper, gruff and firm voice.
Ahead of you, a dozen men emerge among the trees, fanned out in a semi-circular pattern at least 100 feet wide. They bear the bodies of stout male humans with furry lower bodies and the cloven hooves of goats. Horns sprout from their heads, ranging in shape from a pair of small nubs to the large, curling horns of rams. Many sport facial hair, and all are wearing leather armor and equipped with bow and sword.
Harmony was shocked to see all the arrows that had landed in a line in front of them. She then heard and saw the Satyr, stepping up as she shook her head. "No, we would never be aggressive towards you, we promise! We had heard of a teleportation circle here and we desperately need to use it to get to our destination." Harmony called back out to them, trying to come off as friendly and not hostile in any way.
If the arrows were within ten feet of her, Aisha while letting harmony respond initially, would collect HER new arrows and slip them into her Quiver. Claiming the missiles as her own. It is as she says. This one is simply tired of beating arrround the bush, and chose the least subtle way to get yourr attention. Either you would be hostile and we'd know where we stood, or you wouldn't. It seems you have chosen a middle grrround. Aisha is more than happy to give you the breif version of why we're here. she said, offering to tell them the gist of what she finally admitted to the people of the world after re-joining the party... about dieties, destinies, worlds, and so forth. As well as why they were going to where they were going. If they declined she would instead simply say ..
Even if you must close it behind us, we need to use the porrtal to reach our destination.
Garu looks around to see for one that looks like a leader and calls out as hospitably as possible, "We mean no harm to you and ask for none to come to us. We seek passage via the portal in your space."

The bows begin to lower as Harmony speaks, but when Aisha approaches the line of arrow to collect them, another round of arrows are loaded and the bows leveled toward the party once more.
"One should not take what does not belong to them," the older satyr states calmly. The younger speaker speaks with a lighter tone, "We are not here to prevent you from reaching Rikirta through our circle, but to prevent you from being slain by the sphinx that has claimed it. Tell your companion to step away from our ammunition, and we can speak on more level terms. It is plain to me that you are no ordinary travelers to be warned away."
"Sphinx? Not sure I have heard of such a creature?"
Moving forward, Garu adds as persuasively as possible, "Dear Aisha, perhaps we should count ourselves blessed that the ammunition did not pierce us and let it be where it is."

Harmony was very glad as they were lowering their bows, only to see them become hostile from Aisha taking their arrows as she heard them. "Aisha, please don't take their arrows." she said to her before thinking of what they said. Sphinx? "Is the Sphinx really powerful? What kind of creature is it?" Harmony had then asked the group, curious.
"It wields the body of a lion, with wings and forepaws capable of easily tearing any of us in half. It has claimed its space in the center of the forest, and brooks no trespassers," the younger speaker answers Harmony without taking his eyes or his bow off of Aisha.
