Despite the bard's best efforts, this time, the enemy's attack gets through Kairus's reactive defensive measures. (The damage and STR score reduction from this post are ratified.)

Kairus's next step is to decrease the chances the evil assailants land any more blows on the team. Playing another magical chord, the bard aims his spell at the ill-hidden shadows nearby. Both shadows grab their heads in discomfort.
One side effect of the bardic maneuver is that Krodhen, who had flown up 20ft to land his killing blow on the Giant Slug of Umberlee, suddenly finds no wind behind his sails. He hits the ground hard and falls prone. (Krodhen takes 9 bludgeoning damage.)

However, after taking some sweet vengeance upon the one shadow, the crunch of a large body hitting the ground finally registers to the kobold, prompting him to instead bark out, "Nevermind by the dead weight! Get over and protect Kairus. Quickly now, quickly!"
With that, she clamors down and narrowly falls over upon setting down, but manages to right herself and hurry along to stand between the shadows she spotted and Kairus, glaring at them menacingly.
Bonus Action(Hun): Command Mrs. Thinn to make a rush order to Kairus' defense.
