With great skill Brix manages to successfully pick the lock on the chest. Opening the chest up you discover the following, 7000 CP, 2500 SP, 125 GP, and.....Liquid Courage, Potion of Healing, Potion of Climbing, Linguist Cap, Wand of Direction, Sleep Pellet, and Headband of Intellect.
Soren: "Dividing the coins seven ways, everyone gets 1,000 cp, 357 sp (with 1 left over), and 18gp (except 1 person gets 17gp - that can be me - I'll take the extra 1 sp while taking 1 less gp)."
"Not sure who should get the magic items. Maybe Ursa or Brix for the Headband of Intellect. Potion of Healing can go to one of the frontliners like Garmuk or Thredash or Thom. Potion of Climbing maybe to someone that might scout like Olin?"
The shepherd druid looks around. "Are there any more hazards here? What was the source of that hideous cackling that the boat captain that ferried us here heard? And do we see any sign of the companions that Olin came here with? Were they the three shadows that we defeated? Or do we need to put more 'wrongteous' tablets in to find them?"
As an aside, assuming the boat captain waited for us and ferried us back, in post 455, Soren made the captain a bet. The captain was betting on us and he won. Soren owes him 10gp and he pays up. Though some of the payment is in silver and copper.
I'm also thinking of working on creating magic items during the down time. Does anybody want me to craft them an item? We only have 30days so it would only be uncommon. You (and others) may need to gather materials as well.
Ursa will also be working on a Wand of Magic Missiles.
(Update) I will start the Scarlet Citadel on Thursday. This module is mostly a dungeon crawl, so equip your character accordingly. I will also provide a Roll20 link. Thanks for sticking around.
Garmuk will spend his first week recovering his strength sapped from the shadow encounter. He will spend the rest of his time off working for the smith.
Working the Forge really does wonders for his strength. Garmuk also forges 2 common javelin for the next adventure. That cost 5 sliver. Have 1 week left to make a common Wepion or armor if anyone needs something.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Soren once again takes to the strange, pristine wilderness surrounding the northern towns. Having studied the healing potion that they found, he looks for find winter herbs that he can use to brew additional such potions using his Herbalism Kit.
He does take a little time to spend with each of his companions a bit, both out of friendship, but also to learn the ways of those he considers "city-folk." Of course, to Soren, any hamlet of over 10 people is a city, so even a small northern town seems to him like a teeming metropolis.
Anyone else interested in the Sleep Pellet or the Headband of Intellect?
Brix's eyes go wide with interest as each magical item is removed from the box. His lust for knowledge fuels a desire to take all the items back to his small shack and study them. In the end, however, he gives way to decorum and agrees to Sorens suggested split of the items. He relinquishes his claim to all but the wand of direction. Being somewhat challenged in that area he finds comfort in knowing he can find his way out of a cavern like where they encountered the kolbolds. He accepts Olins expression of gratitude with a grateful nod and picks up the Linguistics cap (What language?) as well. He scoops up his share of coin and shows it safely away. In an unintededly arrogant gesture he leaves the headband of intelect to the others unconsciously thinking they may need it more than himself.
Brix spends the next month immersed in study. In between his own studies and brewing Philbin Firewater he spends time with Ursa as they work on crafting magic items. As the task of item creation is one Brix is quite familiar with he offers insight and advice to the process while learning a few new tricks himself. A visit from Sorens also provides the alchemist with valuable new inspirations and ideas.
A little advice about the Scarlet Citadel. This is a dangerous adventure. A lot of your opponents will use the environment to their advantage, and fight using sound tactics. So, don't be afraid to retreat if the situation calls for it.
I'm also, going to allow someone to run a second character, I strongly recommend one that can Channel Divinity.
