(History to see if Ivy may know more than what Walf found?: 5 Is it possible to learn whether this curse could be cured? Or the item?)
Ivy squirms, fighting their intense curiosity of the object. But what if they could they fix it? Or what is someone else found it? She rocks on the balls of their feet and even tiptoes a bit closer. It wasn't until Walf agrees with Durnir, even calling the Dwarf smart and sweet, that'd convince the half-elf that they should leave it. Ears droop a little while they pout. Then at Adaban's questions, Ivy's ears would perk again.
(Anything to roll to see if we can answer Adaban's questions about whether the creatures can drown/require air to breathe?)
Davis nods his agreement. "Best if the wreck goes out to sea, but what if it does not?" He asks the others. "I wonder if we should return to town and tell someone more official about all of this." He shrugs. "That way someone with the right level of responsibility can get the curse taken care of if the ship doesn't get swallowed by the sea."
The moon continues to rise in the sky, now up above the ridge and the trees atop it. The light beams down, and the waters have now risen a good foot since you've all arrived here.
Although coming up blank on assisting Walf, Ivy was satisfied with knowing the curse could be cured, even if it was out of their current abilities. Attention hopping, the half-elf moves on to ponder more about Adaban's questions.
Once all the reachable bodies are secured, Adaban looks through the crates and objects recovered from the beach. (( Anything interesting? ))
(To clarify, there is just a single body on the shore.)
You have found two barrels and one waterlogged chest along the shore. The two barrels both have "Cabernet Brewing Co." Woodburned into the top of it. The waterlogged chest is unlocked, and when opened reveals six bulleseye lanterns and 12 flasks of oil, all covered in oil. It appears as though one of the flasks must have broken open.
"Anyone have a bow?" Davis asks as it appears the group is trying to decide what to do. "We could try to see if we can hurt that stone statue guy with an arrow, if you all want to stay around. Otherwise I say we head back to town."

Durnir nods in agreement to Davis and Walf. "We should let the town know."
At Davis's suggestion, he takes out his crossbow. He aims and shoots.
Attack: 11 Damage: 6 If greater than 80ft away, disadvantage. Attack: 20
After he shoots, he looks to the bodies that were found. "Umm, just curious. Those bodies are partially stone now, yes? Are they going to keep turning into stone, even if they are dead? Are they going to be like that thing?..."
Those of you that are well versed in magics may know the answer to Durnir's question. If you believe your character has had prior reason to research curses, or if it was in their curriculum in becoming a magic user, this may be an auto success - I'll leave it up to you and your backstories. If you're unsure, go ahead and make an arcana or history check DC 13.
curses can be lifted by : removal by magic, reversal by a set of conditions being met, or death. Some curses are resistant to these curative solutions, but in general there is almost always at least one way to remove a curse.
(( modified 16 to History role - in DDB campaign channel ))
Adaban looks thoughtful a moment. "One knows of such things... given conditions met, or destruction, one can remove such a curse. One has been cursed before."
Walf speaks out loud to himself "Hmm Walf remember the curse from book. Book called....Curative solutions for old curses....Written by Albus Conifery....Ah Albus nice old man....until he fell out window....so sad....."Walf then looks to the group "Hmmmm Death help cure most curses.....Maybe this one too?"
Durnir nods in agreement to Davis and Walf. "We should let the town know."
At Davis's suggestion, he takes out his crossbow. He aims and shoots.
Attack: 19 Damage: 7 If greater than 80ft away, disadvantage. Attack: 17
After he shoots, he looks to the bodies that were found. "Umm, just curious. Those bodies are partially stone now, yes? Are they going to keep turning into stone, even if they are dead? Are they going to be like that thing?..."
The crossbow bolt strikes its target true and the stone cursed man immediately jumps from the ship into the water in response, disappearing from sight beneath the waves in a splash.

Durnir get's his shield and saber ready. "Huh. What are the odds that I scared it off and it's going to run away under the sea now? Not good, is my bet. Get ready for a fight! Helm, guide my sight!"
Durnir casts Guidance, then looks out to see if he can tell which way the creature is going.
"Guess that got its attention..." Davis says with a grim look around. He backs up out of the water, not wishing to fight where his footing would be slippery.

just an unstable unicorn.
Ivy - go ahead and make an arcana or history check. Also see below.
As far as you're aware, it is capable to reverse a curse, though it does require advanced spellcasting techniques that you are unfamiliar with.
Walf nods in agreement with Davis while watching the boat for movement
The false statue continues to stand ominously at the edge of the boat, facing your direction. Since it has assumed this position, it has not moved.

“I’ve got a crossbow.” Ivy offers Davis.
