Yasmina giggles softly and nods to the brass-coloured kobold. As Bahgtru speaks, a moment later he also appears to the orcs in the clearing as a 15 feet high version of Grutok Doomspear, only even more scarred and imposing, as Yasmina utters fiery words in ignan, tracing a quick pattern in the air with her finger wearing her ruby ring, briefly shimmering with a fiery red light, then smiling over at Neela again with a wink.
(Casting Silent image. Deception if needed: 25 Another roll if advantage: 22 )
All - The orcs stop what they're doing and stare in stupefied wonder at the image of Bahgtru, a few even fall to their knees and prostrate themselves.
Grutok Investigation check: 10 (Rolled in gamelog to myself)
Younger Orc Investigation check: 10 (Rolled in gamelog to myself)
Grutok and the younger orc stand next to one another, weapons hanging loosely in their hands. After the illusion fades, the orcs begin whispering and chattering excitedly amongst themselves. Then they notice Krugh.
All twelve orcs draw their weapons and begin shouting at once. Grutok recognizes Krugh but seems too genuinely confused to say anything. The younger orc raises his greatsword and steps in front of Grutok. He snarls at Krugh, "You stand in the presence of a chosen of Bahgtru, half-breed! State your business! If you move, we will kill you!"
Krugh & All - The orcs look at you with slightly skeptical expressions but have lowered their weapons and stopped shouting. The younger orc narrows his eyes and seems about to say more when Grutok says, "Ogdune, he is an ally. If not for his help, I would have died." Ogdune lowers his weapons and turns to Grutok, "I see." He looks down, obviously struggling with something, then says, "I am sorry to have challenged you, chosen of Bahgtru." He lays his heavy weapon down and kneels in front of Grutok. "My life is yours." He lowers his head and closes his eyes. Grutok picks up the greatsword easily with one hand and with a grunt, drives it into the ground in front of Ogdune. To his credit, Ogdune doesn't flinch. Grutok says, "You were doing what you thought best for the tribe. I understand. I trust now you see the error in your thinking?" Ogdune nods slowly, "I do. As you said, oppression by another name... That is not what I want for our people." Grutok nods and says, "Then we are done speaking of this. Get up, your tribe needs you on your feet Ogdune." Ogdune stands and places the greatsword in the sheath on his back while Grutok looks to the rest of the orcs, "The Doomspear tribe is leaving these lands. We will head inland, away from the Sword Coast. I believe Bahgtru will lead us to a land of our own. Any who wish to stay and serve the dragon may do so." Grutok looks to each of them, "But you will wipe our markings from your face. No true child of Bahgtru will kneel." All of the orcs stay with Grutok and after a moment he says, "Good. Let us return to our tribe."
Seeing their deception work out as planned, Yasmina smiles and gives Neela a low five, getting it a bit better this time. "The sign of the red cross, is it to show their allegiance to the dragon do you think?" Yasmina whispers to Neela, Thelan and Sinak, waiting for the orcs to take their leave.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Neela dances a little jig and high-fives Yasmina, as quietly as possible, lest she give away their involvement. Once the orcs leave however, she can no longer hold in her excitement.
"Yes!! You did it! You got the orcs to leave again and we didn't have to fight them!"she says, grinning and dancing, before coming to a sudden stop and putting a finger to her chin. "The red cross marking is odd. Not something you would associate with a black dragon." She tries to remember if she has heard of any other dragons that associate with a red cross of three lines painted each way, or if she is familiar with the name "Duskbringer".
Neela - You don't recall the name Duskbringer nor any associations between red crosses and dragons, but you do recall a bit of history about orc tribal markings that lead you to believe the red cross is simply the way the Doomspear tribe chooses to identify themselves by.
All - The orcs give nods and grunts of thanks to Krugh for helping Grutok before heading back the other way down the path they made. After a quick lunch, you all press onward, traveling a few hours more. Large boulders and impassible thickets create a natural funnel that leads you all into a narrow ravine, about 10ft wide. The near vertical walls rise to a height of about 50ft of smooth hard stone. The ravine winds and wends as it goes and after one of those bends in the path you see two large shapes blocking the path about 30ft ahead. It appears to be the corpses of an owlbear and an elk.
"No, we did it Neela, and you did the important part, giving the orcs a powerful message from their deity."Yasmina beams down at the brass-coloured kobold, giggling softly as Neela dances around in triumph.
Yasmina follows Krugh, a little bit behind, curious over if this could be the creature she saw in the night. Perception: 13

Thelan lets out a deep breath that he didn’t even realize he was holding as the Orcs leave the clearing. He echoes Sinak’s compliments to Neela and Yasminna “Yes, excellent work by the both of you. Nice touch, making it look like Grutok.” As Krugh rejoins the group, he thanks him as well. “Nicely done, Krugh. That could have gotten messy.”
As they continue their journey and reach the carcass of the Owlbear and Elk, Thelan is uneasy. “Wasn’t Fivin riding an elk? I hope nothing has happened to him.” Thelan scouts around the clearing, looking for tracks to determine what happened here and if he sees sign of Fivin or other survivors.
Krugh - The elk and owlbear are dead indeed. The elk bears obvious wounds to its abdomen from the owlbear's claws and one of the elk's antlers is broken off and lodged in the owlbear's neck.
Yasmina - You see that this does appear to be the same creature you saw while on watch. It is missing the same eye and bears the same scars across its face.
Thelan - The scene is chaotic given the fight that took place in such close quarters, but from what you can tell it appears as though the elk and owlbear both came into the ravine the same way you did. Judging from the impressions, it looks like the owlbear went first, then the elk. It's hard to say how much time there was between the two entering the ravine, but you'd say it wasn't much. Amidst the blood and gore, you find a blood-soaked, shredded gray robe and a pair of crushed half-moon spectacles. You don't see any humanoid prints other than those made by you and your party and there are none on the other side of the corpses, leading deeper into the ravine.
Krugh gets wrapped up in the moment and steps into the clearing chanting with the others ( For Grutak ), joining them in the circle.

Spoken in orcish
I mean you no harm or offense and can be sure that I revere and respect Grutok as a chosen of Bahgtru.
Krugh bows slightly as he puts his fist on his chest.
I was merely caught up in your duel, it was quite a display of the battle prowess of you both.
