“We should follow them”Thelan nods to Yasmina and then turns to Krugh “silently. They may be able to show us a way into the keep. We need a path, especially now that Fivin is missing. If we are lucky, we can grab the children with the dragon being none the wiser and avoid a battle altogether.”

Yasmina listens and nods as Thelan speaks. "Perhaps Kashak is simply their name for the dragon?"She suggests as he finishes.
"Well, we can't be good at everything Krugh."She says with a smile to the half-orc, then ready to follow. "My little helper can follow them more closely, allowing us to stay back a bit to avoid being noticed."She suggests to the others, messaging Razul to follow the kobolds for now and report on their movements.
Thelan - The name doesn't ring any bells for you and you think maybe the kobold was referring to itself.
Krugh & Yasmina - You're able to follow behind the procession of kobolds without being seen. Twice during that time you saw a handful of additional kobolds join the main group and throw armfuls of valuables into the boat. The wizened kobold limps along, exhorting the group to both move faster and handle the hoard of treasure more gently as they wind their way through trees and over logs. You have followed the group for two hours now and watched as it has swelled to roughly a dozen kobolds now. You see that a few of those are well armed and armored for what you would expect for a kobold. They appear to be a bit more stout and have painted their faces and hands black. You also see a pair of kobolds with large packs and a veritable arsenal of crudely fashioned traps and weaponry.
Following some distance behind, letting Razul keep her updated on events with the group of kobolds, Yasmina informs the others on what she knows. "The kobolds numbers grow and they seem to prepare for war. This dragon and it's mysterious ally may be gathering forces around them, like the orcs and the kobolds. Should we just keep on the kobolds tails so to speak?" She asks to check that everyone is good with this plan.
Neela is following along as well, tutting to herself and muttering "...I mean...a black dragon...like the least coolest dragon....maybe if it was a red I would understand...". In response to Yasmine she speaks up: "Duskbringer must be making his lair and that's why he is gathering minions. You can't be a proper dragon without a lair and minions. Thelan is right: without Fivin we will not be able to find the Keep. Remember what he said about the twisting paths? I think we should keep following them. Hey...does anyone have any black paint?"
Sinak has been following along with everyone, staying back from the group of kobolds, speaking in a low voice. "Where did these kobolds come from? I think you are exactly right, he is building a lair and gathering minions. It would be great if we could find Fivin, but until he appears (he says this with foreboding), we should follow these kobolds in. At a point will have to let them go and try to find our own way in, remain in cover. I don't think we have any black paint or the ability to disguise ourselves as kobolds." He looks pointedly at Neela and holds his gaze for a bit, then goes back to watching the kobold band.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
All - The kobolds continue their march through the woods, and you all follow them through the gloom. The path curves then begins to run parallel to a small stream that gradually grows in size as you follow it. After about two more hours of travel, you emerge from the woods into a large clearing. The stream flows thick and fast here, and the sound of cascading water echoes against the tree wall. Striking up for the sky in the center of the clearing is a magnificent butte. The sides of the rocky outcrop have eroded over time and from the flowing water, giving it the appearance of a sitting raven. A waterfall surges down from the top of the butte and pours into a loch halfway up the cliff face. Standing before the loch is Ravenglade Keep, a remarkable feat of elven architecture, barely visible through the spray of the falls. The wooden fortress is decorated with spires, twisting towers and masterfully worked wood. Where the loch overflows, the water passes beneath the keep and out over the edge of the cliff, falling another half mile to the stream below. Despite the majesty of the scene, it’s clear that the keep is damaged; a gaping hole in the central roof marks the point of Duskbringer’s attack. You see a long line of twenty or so kobolds ascending the path that winds up the butte to Ravenglade Keep. It is night now, roughly 9pm and the sky clear. The moon hangs full and bright in the sky above the keep.
"So now we're here." Yasmina says and sits down to admire the architecture of Ravenglade Keep. "I will send my little helper to scout the place out and see if he can spot any other entrances, or maybe even find a window leading to that library." She says to the others and messages Razul to fly around the place but stay very cautious and retreat if he notices the dragon or any other potential threats to him. "And I suppose we should be wary of lycanthropes too." She says, looking up at the full moon above them.
Thelan stares at the towers of the Keep, lost in its beauty until his eyes catch the ugly scar of the attack, bringing the true purpose of their visit back to the front of his mind. “Fivin did say they escaped by the waterfall, but it remains to be seen if that is a way in. Hopefully Yasmina’s little helper can find a way in. Maybe I can help.”
Thelan looks around the clearing, searching for any friendly woodland creatures foraging in the early evening. If he finds any, he will Speak with Animals to find out any information on the ways into Ravenglade Keep or the dragon’s activities.

"It was just a crazy thought I had. Paint myself black and follow the kobolds. But I wouldn't have any way of letting you know where I am and what's happening. And without warriors to come rescue me, I'm just another kobold minion to a dumb chromatic dragon. I'm going to look for tracks, maybe Fivin came this way if he survived the fight with the owlbear."
All - Hewn into the cliff is a stone stairway that heads up to the keep. The stairs look precarious, damp from the spray of the falls and covered in moss. Here and there, destroyed wooden rope bridges that would span the gaps between sections of rock replace the stairs. These seem to have been recently shattered since their remains can still be seen at the base of the butte. As you watch, a kobold slips and falls into the rocky waters below with a shriek.
Yasmina -
Searching for another way up, Razul notices a strange crevice behind the waterfall that seems unnatural. Squeezing through the narrow gap, he notices a second stairway leading upward from inside the cliff itself. This stair is filled with dust and cobwebs, showing its lack of use.
Neela - Any tracks Fivin might have made have been obliterated by the many kobolds that passed through this area.
Thelan - You hear the soft hooting of a great horned owl in a tree nearby. Its large eyes resemble the moon as it turns its head from side to side. Speaking with the owl, you learn the following information:
The owl believes Duskbringer was injured during the fight with the elves and has been recovering
Duskbringer hasn't left the keep since the fight
The owl doesn't know exactly where it is in the keep
The owl is only familiar with the various windows it uses to hunt mice within the keep and is unaware of any other entrances
"I think we have a way inside the keep." Yasmina suddenly says a bit excitedly and gets up on her feet, facing the others. "There is crevice behind the waterfall leading to a stairway going upward. I suggest we use that entrance to the keep." She explains with a wide smile.
"Oh, I think you will have your battle in time Krugh, whether it'll be a good battle is another matter entirely." Yasmina says with a smirk.
“We should follow them” Thelan nods to Yasmina and then turns to Krugh “silently. They may be able to show us a way into the keep. We need a path, especially now that Fivin is missing. If we are lucky, we can grab the children with the dragon being none the wiser and avoid a battle altogether.”
