Thelan picks himself up off of the floor with a muttered curse, sparing a quick glance at the collapsed tunnel behind him. “Well, there goes the surprise. If anyone doesn’t know we are here, they will soon and I guess we will be finding another way out.” He gives the undead half-elf, half-wolf a wary look and glances at Sinak “Looks like there was something to the hag’s story after all. Were-wolves. What do you think it means?”
Thelan makes his way to the other door, staying away from the cage and keeping watch for anyone coming to investigate the noise. Perception: 24.
Once the dust has cleared, Neela looks around to make sure her companions are OK, before looking with dismay at the collapsed passageway. She nods to Thelan: "Our surprise and our only way out. How are we going to sneak the kids out now? But you are all amazing warriors and tacticians, I trust you will work out a way. As for the lycanthropy, let's see what we can find out."
She walks up slowly to the cage with the undead half-elf half-wolf, but not close enough to be within reach of the creature, with her hands held high in a placating gesture. "Hello? Can you speak? Please, be still, you will only hurt yourself more. We won't hurt you. Do you have a name?"

"Oh, no."Yasmina moans as the trap is sprung, not quite as confident as Neela they will still be able to sneak the children out of the keep. She let's out a small sigh and starts to investigate the rest of the room while Neela interviews the thing in the silver cage.
Investigation: 19 Another roll if Razul can help out: 15
All - You entered this room from the north passage, which is now completely blocked. There is another door to the south similar to the one you used to enter, it is locked but the lock is inside the room, and you can unlock it if you wish. I'll respond to your posts later today.
Sinak - You find various alchemical supplies on the shelves and what appear to be mortuary's tools in a bucket near a table with manacles attached to it. On a desk you find a brown leather journal with an eagle feather as a book mark.
Thelan & Krugh - It is hard to hear much with the howling lycanthrope in the same area, but you don't hear anything at the moment. (That may change)
Neela - The werewolf growls and snaps its jaws at you when you approach and its large furred paw whips outward between the bars of its cage. You sense no rationality in this beast and see no recognition in its flat, dead eyes. Unable to reach you, the werewolf resumes howling.
Yasmina - When you pass the cage with the lycanthrope, it suddenly stops howling and sniffs the air. Instead of a growl or ferocious howl it emits a sort of whine. It begins raging again once you step away. You find much of the same that Sinak found before you, but you manage to find a velvet-lined wooden case on a shelf, hidden behind unmarked jars of noxious smelling chemicals. Inside the case are three syringes filled with a blood red liquid. After examining them a bit, you're confident it is blood.
Krugh - You see that the door to the room is locked with a heavy deadbolt that secures the door.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Not sure what this means but I'm certain it's nothing good." Yasmina says and shows the syringes to the others, taking good care with them, offering to the others to examine them closer. She then turns her attention to the beast in the silver cage, studying it a bit closer for any signs who this could be while not transformed into a werewolf.
Perception: 23 Another roll if Razul can help out: 14
Thelan looks at the barred door with Krugh “Interesting that it is locked from this side. Let’s open it and see where it leads.” He looks at the others as they search the room and pauses as it seems the werewolf stops its howling as Yasminna passes by it. “Yes, it seems you made a friend. We should leave it, there is little to nothing we can do for it, but the children can still be saved. We should leave here and continue on before someone comes to investigate this howling. This creature will bring the whole keep down on us.”
Sinak picks up the journal with the eagle feather and looks through it to discern what sort of foul experiment is being conducted here, what knowledge they were hoping to gain and who was carrying out the experiments. He shows the others the journal and begins reading.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Neela hangs her head, upset that, for once, she could not reach someone with her words. She perks up a little as the creature calms while Yasmina passes however. "Hey, how did you do that? It must have smelled something on you. What are you carrying? Something silver perhaps, or magical?"
Turning her attention to the door, she says: "What is in there they wanted to keep out? Something worse than that?" pointing a finger back at the undead half-wolf half-elf. "I'm starting to think these elves were up to not very good things. Let's bring the blood and the journal and get out of here before the something worse finds us."
"Hm, yes, I have this." Yasmina says, taking up the silver chain pendant she was given by Lia. "Is this what you sensed?" She says, showing it to the beast in the silver cage, staying at a safe distance from it's raking claws.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Yasmina - It is difficult to discern who this creature might be in their humanoid form. You don't think it's someone you've seen before.
Sinak - When you touch the journal you immediately feel intense pain in your hand that quickly crawls up your arm, causing you to drop it and the feather bookmark to flutter to the ground at your feet. You fall to your knees, framing the eagle feather between your thighs. You take 16 Necrotic damage and you feel an intense nausea for a moment before it passes.
Yasmina - The werewolf's dead eyes widen a bit when it sees the pendant. It sniffs and whines before turning circles in its cage, no longer howling or raging.
Thelan & Krugh - You both hear the sound of hurried footsteps echoing from beyond the locked door. It sounds like more than one person approaching.
Yasmina looks over at Sinak as he falls to his knees. "Sinak, what happened?" She says in a worried tone, coming over to kneel by his side, laying a comforting arm on his shoulder. "Is someone coming?" She says, looking over at Krugh. "Can you fight Sinak?" She says quicklyto the Elf, trying to help him into cover, ready to fight whatever comes through the door.
Sinak has resistance to necrotic damage due to his lineage as a Shadar-Kai. He is startled and shakes his hand. He consider what this could have been, looking at the journal. He begins to ritually cast detect magic and he looks carefully at the feather, looking over to the undead werewolf. “Beware the feather…”
Hearing Krugh and mention of the footsteps, he stops ritually casting and readies himself.
Yasmina - When you say Lia's name the werewolf whines and clutches its head. The whine turns into a strangled cry that sounds like "....Llllliiiiaaaaaa..."
All - The footsteps outside the door seem to stop just outside it. You hear hushed voices just above the wimpers of the werewolf, "It came from in there! It's father!" says one. Another voice cuts in, "Syllin! Stop, get back here! Syllin!" The first voice says, "The door is locked! Faen, father is in there, I heard him!" Faen says, "Syllin... It can't be father... Look... *Sigh* Syllinn... Father is dead. He died protecting us from Orcs." Syllin interupts, "No! I heard him! He's in there! Please Faen!" Anything else is eclipsed by the caged wolf, howling mournfully and throwing itself against the bars again.
Thelan picks himself up off of the floor with a muttered curse, sparing a quick glance at the collapsed tunnel behind him. “Well, there goes the surprise.
