FROZEN SICK CAMPAIGN MODIFIED - FROZENER AND SICKER
Join me in a cold, harsh climate not lacking in trials and tribulations. Bring with you a character ready to strive or die in tough conditions. Investigate a dangerous mystery as it unfolds in real time. Don't spend too much effort on your character's backstory; you might not live long enough for us to learn it! Be committed to posting frequently so we can finish this campaign, which is short (level 1-3).
-Start at level 1, milestone leveling.
-Any non-homebrew race/class welcome.
-Roll stats in-thread, reroll 1's as you like.
-Your character has recently arrived in Palebank village, a moderate town in a cold snowy Northern climate. Feel free to post (or PM me) your character's motivations and goals, which should not be too complex as this is a short campaign.
-Daily posting encouraged.
-Prefer people unacquainted with the Frozen Sick campaign, but it's ok if you've read it, I haven't altered major plot points too much but I have fleshed it out or altered it in some spots.
-Please note that this will not officially be in Wildemount setting, as I know little of that world/lore. Instead consider the world to be a nondescript generic D&D-type world.
-I'd like 3 or 4 players max. I'm looking for a (relatively) quick and tight campaign. That said, I do welcome conversations (staying game-related) and role-playing.
-I'll be posting frequently from my phone, which means I should be pretty responsive, but I'm also not going to do a lot of fancy formatting or images/maps, etc. Theater of the mind!
It’s a cold, gray morning in Palebank village. Looks like it might snow. Each of you has newly arrived in town and lodged at the Jolly Dwarf Inn last night. You’ve each come downstairs for breakfast. Arl Bortock, the proprietor, has pulled a large table closer to the hearth, where already a fire is going, and invites you all to sit there together.
“So many visitors at once,” he rambles as he bustles about, setting out dishware for you all. He’s an older dwarf, plenty of gray creeping into his long braided beard, but his arms ripple with muscle and his face is criss-crossed with scars. There is a knowing glint in his eye as he waits on you; you get the feeling he knows something about your business that even you don’t know. “That’s good for business, naturally, just so long as I can properly accommodate you all.”
He has set a total of 9 places, and soon 4 other people join the table as a group: a pair of human men and 2 young tiefling children.
Arl Bortock continues to busy himself with getting everything ready while the human men grin and make a point of greeting you all. One says, “Good morning! I’m Irven Liel and this is Fenton Tethwick, and these are our children, Honor and Magic. Sure is cold this morning, wouldn’t you say?”
Faloniir is a male wood elf with shoulder-length, dark blonde hair and blue eyes. He's about 6'2" and 195lbs, filling out his dark brown leather armor with lean musculature. He wears a dark green hooded cloak and a sling with a longbow across his back. You can also see two matching shortswords on his hips. Faloniir replies to Arl, "Oh, I'm not too needy sir. Just some water and a bit of whatever you have for breakfast." He then takes a seat and smiles politely at the two men and their children. Faloniir nods in response to Irven's question, "I would. Greetings, I am Faloniir." He will then offer his hand to each of them and engage in small talk until their food arrives.
A very large woman stands。over 8 feet tall and very dark. She has hair that looks black as coal. But shimmers blue when she moves her head just right. She has skin tight black clothing that moves and ripples with her muscular body. She has a pale face with black stripes arcing to the center like a perfect inverted star. She is massive and intimidating, she is also very beautiful in a way that's isn't easily defined.
Hello, My name is Fro. It is very nice to meet you all. I do not really feel the cold like you do, but it looks very beautiful.
Arl Bortock takes your orders and brings out warm food as Irven, Fenton, and the two children Magic and Honor chat with you amicably.
Irven: "We're book merchants, we make regular stops here due to the influx of strange artifacts from the Eisencross area up north. You never know when an invaluable text from an ancient civilization will surface here!"
Fenton: "Yes, we're pretty familiar with this place. If you need anything, just ask us, we know our way around pretty well and we have connections."
Honor: "Mister Faloniir, sir, could you please pass the eggs?"
Magic: "Miss Fro, you're the biggest and most beautiful person I ever saw!"
Irven: "Miss Gilwynn, you must have traveled far if you're not used to the cold. Would you like a heavier fur-lined cloak? I have a spare and it's yours if you need it."
Faloniir greets Fro and Gilwynn respectively, "Well met Fro. There is a savage beauty about this place. It lacks pretense. It is what it is and nothing more. I can appreciate that." "Nice to meet you Gilwynn. I agree, I'm suited to warmer climes myself, but I have business in the biting north."He will grab another egg from the plate before passing it to Honor. Faloniir will then turn to Fenton and say, "Perhaps you could help me. I'm looking for someone, my cousin Raegrin. I'd heard he'd gotten involved with some unsavory types up this way and I'd like to see if I can talk some sense into him, as a favor to my aunt. She raised us both and he was like a brother to me."
"Hello and thank you for your roof, my good sir. My name is Banyan. I appreciate the food and the rest." The young man lowered the hood on his heavy cloak revealing very place skin and yellow eyes looking out from under shaggy short-cut black hair. After removing the pack from his back, he places it against the wall, along with his quarterstaff and bow, though a rapier and a pair of daggers remain on his person.
Banyan moves over quietly and takes a seat at the table. He nods his head to each of the people there and mutters a quick greeting. Turning to the dwarf he says, "Would you mind getting a few cuts of bacon and mushrooms? Maybe some fresh bread?"
Arl gives a little bow to Banyan and says, “Of course, of course. In the spring and summer we gather many mushrooms in the woods and dry them for use all winter long. They’ll be reconstituted in water, so a little chewy, but I hope you’ll find them satisfactory.”
Irven sends Honor to their room to fetch the cloak. She brings back a high quality gray cloak lined with silver fox fur. She shyly presents it to Gilwynn. It’s slightly used but in good condition.
Irven says, “You’re welcome to it. Important to stay warm in these parts.”

Fro would blush if it were possible for her to do so.
"Thank you magic for your kind words."
(OOC: Is Magic male or female?)
Magic and Honor are both girls
