Zachariah finishes the last of his wine, the only thing of sustenance he has taken from the table. "Good evening, Sir Hensworth. Please invite your employer over. We'll be happy to hear her out."
Jacob looks over towards Zachariah and smiles. "You misunderstood me, sir. If you choose to hear her out you need to come with me to her estate. She has not set foot outside of it in the last few weeks I'm afraid. She will only speak to you there if you are interested in what she has to say and offer you."
Tap looks over at the half-elf and repeats every part of the conversation he had missed in the respective voices, sending a mental image of a pile of gold and a general feeling of anticipation.
You have been invited to the home of Syndra Silvane, a retired adventurer, and merchant. A uniformed attendant leads you up a grand staircase to the third floor, then ushers you into a wood-paneled room with a fireplace, comfortable chairs, and a heavy table bearing goblets and bottles of wine. The darkly paneled walls are hung with maps and sea charts. Racks, shelves, and cabinets hold hundreds more rolled-up maps and charts.
A person is seated in an overstuffed chair near the fire. You can’t discern a gender because only the person’s head emerges from under a heavy blanket draped over the chair, and an embroidered hood and silver mask conceal the wearer’s face. Even the person’s dry, raspy voice provides no clue. “Help yourselves to wine, and seat yourselves, friends — I hope I may call you that.”
"'Whoever hates disguises himself with his lips and harbors deceit in his heart'," says Zachariah just above a whisper, staring at the mysterious person.

(Ahkmenos is still passed out)
"Hello there!" Krav says, then blinks, and glances at Tap. He shakes his head, smiling.
"Getting paid just for listening?" Krav asks incredulously,
"Sounds like an easy job to me!"
He sets down his cup of ale with a clunk, then turns to Ahkmenos, who he seated next to himself.
Krav gives him a slight shake, hoping to wake him.
And that's all I have to say about that.

Hmmm? Wha? Ugh.... what's going on??
Tap looks over at the half-elf and repeats every part of the conversation he had missed in the respective voices, sending a mental image of a pile of gold and a general feeling of anticipation.
Ahkmenos instantly sobers up.
Oh! Well then! Where do we meet your client!
Krav nods.
"Well, I'm ready to meet this employer!" he tells Jacob, voice stentorian as ever.
"Lead on!"
Krav stands, then stops and turns to the others, sheepishly.
"That is, if you are willing?"
And that's all I have to say about that.
Ahkmenos groggily follows.
"Getting paid--Lead on!" Tap says, again using Krav's words. Tap seems to be eager to leave.
Zachariah stands as well to follow.

Krav sits down, but does not take any wine.
"I would prefer that you call me Krav," he jokes.
"Are you the one who asked us here?"
And that's all I have to say about that.
"'Whoever hates disguises himself with his lips and harbors deceit in his heart'," says Zachariah just above a whisper, staring at the mysterious person.
I'll head over to grab a glass of wine. I'd like to check to make sure it's not drugged before I take a sip.
Would it be a survival check? 15
"Please, please, everyone have a seat and I will explain why I have asked you here." The figure says in a raspy voice.

I take a seat and take a sip of wine.
Tap follows the group into the room, perching on top of one of the high back chairs.
