The figure begins to speak in a low raspy voice, “My name is Syndra Silvane. I was an adventurer years ago. A very successful one at that. During one of my adventures, I was dealt a killing blow and had died. I was fortunate that my party members survived the encounter and were able to bring me back to life."
Syndra pokes the fire with a stick lost in thought for a moment before resuming. "The death curse you’ve heard about has struck me. I don’t know how much longer I’ll last before I perish. Clerics have no help to offer. They’re stymied by what is happening. This is why I have asked you here."
Noticing they were getting to the heart of things, Tap says, "Getting paid--We'll be happy to hear her out," mixing Krav's and Zachariah's voices. It's clear that Tap isn't in the business of charity when there's money to be made.
The sound of his own voice coming from Tap is enough to pull Zachariah's attention from the woman. He glances over at the Kenku with a slight smile on his face.
A quiet pale red headed man steps forward,, most of you unaware that he’s been there the whole time. “I’m in for whatever. I have a major itch to scratch since being released from the military. My name is Thoradin, most just call me Thor.” He steps forward again, inching a little closer, with the regalia of a highly ranked military official, chin held high with confidence but never snobbery.

Greggor sniffs at the wine decanter, and pours himself a drink. "Greggor agrees wit T'or. Too long have I sat idle. Tell us more of vat you wish for us to do." Greggor quaffs the drink he poured and proceeds to pour another.
Jacob enters the room carrying a small chest that he puts on the table. He bows to Syndra before leaving.
Syndra gets up from her chair and walks over to the chest. As she opens the chest you notice her arm is rotting in places.
"Inside the chest is a coin pouch for each of you. I have given you 50 gold each for hearing me out." Syndra goes back to her chair by the fire. "There is plenty more if you agree to help me." Syndra leans closer to the fire trying to get warmer.
"My contacts in the Harpers have learned that the cause of the death curse is a necromantic artifact called the Soulmonger. According to their sources, the Soulmonger is somewhere in Chult. Chult is a peninsula ringed with mountains and choked with rainforests. Enormous reptiles, savage goblins, and an army of undead prowl its jungles and ruins. Mapping the place has always been nigh impossible, and nothing is known about the region’s current geography beyond a few miles from the coast.”
"Enormous reptiles, savage goblins, and an army of undead prowl its jungles and ruins," Tap says to Syndra in her own words as he grabs a coin pouch, "There is plenty more if you agree to help me--interested in what she has to say and offer you" Ending in Jacob's voice, Tap looks at Syndra questioningly, weighing the bag in his taloned grip as if it isn't heavy enough to warrant risking his life.
I hope Tap's speech format makes sense (as much as it can). The "--" marks means he has changed "recordings" to a different phrase or sentence he heard before, sometimes from a different person, sometimes not. In this case he is switching from Syndra's comment in the previous post to Jacob's comment back from the tavern (the NPCs all have the same color to their words).

I will always use that orange color but I'm at work on my phone so I don't have all the options when posting. You're doing great. I love it
Syndra chuckles hearing her own words coming from Taps mouth. " Prices can be negotiated, my friend. For what use is all my wealth if I am dead."
Syndra pulls off her hood and you can see first hand the wasting sickness of the death curse. Her flesh is rotted down the right side of her face and you can see her teeth and jaw where there would normally be flesh.
"I fear my time is growing short for this world if this curse is not lifted. Working from dozens of sea charts, logbooks, and explorers’ journals, I assembled everything known about the current state of Chult into one map. I’ll provide it to you if you undertake my mission. Talk it over amongst yourselves. I will answer any questions you may have."
Syndra pulls the hood back over her face. "What I'm asking is dangerous but necessary. The jungle is unforgiving but hidden within are enough riches for you all to buy your own kingdoms. I'm asking for you to find this soulmonger and destroy it if possible if not then bring it back to me and I will find someone that can."
Thor grabs his bag, feeling the weight. “This will do for now. Like I said before, I have an itch to scratch.”
On your phone you can switch to desktop view and get all of the options for text. It’s a little tedious but I find it makes everything easier for everyone. Especially dice rolls!

ooc: I did that once and couldn't figure out how to switch back to mobile mode lol I can just type in [ roll] when I want to do rolls but I don't know how to switch color in mobile mode.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
At last a chance for real adventure! Not chasing off local thugs or killing rats in cellars, but real adventure!Greggor downs his second drink and snatches up his share of the gold. Barely able to contain his excitement, he exclaims a bit loudly, "Vhen do ve leaf?!"
Zachariah hefts the bag of good, marveling at its weight. "M'lady," he says with a slight bow, "your plight is one of great import. It would be an honor to mount this crusade."
OOC: Speaking of gold, how much should we deduct for our supper?

Nothing for that. The 2 performers were able to cover the expenses of your drinks and food
Zachariah sits, still staring at the figure.
