(5+11)/2 = 10.5, which just barely beats their 9!

The bandits have a hushed discussion amongst themselves. After a long, tense moment, they break their huddle, and the leader calls out:

"Fine. Go on your way. But we may not be so amiable if our paths cross again."

As quietly as they appeared, they're gone again, disappearing behind the trees and out of sight.

Revelry's face is momentarily obscured by a cloud of fog as she lets out a disappointed huff.

"We totally could have taken them!"

"You're right, Revelry. We could probably have taken them easily enough but to what end? I can't imagine they had much valuables themselves. And who knows, this forest might just as well let our paths cross again."

(I'm not sure what happened to my roll but just after I posted it, it was a 14 without that warning. Never touched it again. Well, it's inconsequential anyhow.)

The bounty hunter relaxed. He would have liked to have gotten the exercise, but better for the bandits that they backed off.

"Well, the milk's already been spilt, might as well see what else we can get," he shrugged.

The party continues to trek across the wintery landscape. Another half hour passes uneventfully, while the cold continues to nip at any exposed skin.

You pass a cluster of trees, pale and barren of leaves. They seem at odds with the surrounding evergreens, but are otherwise totally ordinary.

Perhaps the Forest of Wonders has no wonders in store for you today.

Everyone give me another Constitution saving throw and a Perception check.

The cold isn't so bad as long as you keep moving. 

But those trees you passed... Rizo, Whistler, and Revelry, you can't shake the feeling that there was something strange about them. You could swear you left them 150 feet behind you, but with a quick glance back, they only seem to be 50 feet away. Aeron, you think it's probably fine - just a trick of the light.

In an effort to try and help with the cold, Rizo summons Moni, a small Monarch butterfly entirely made up by wild fire. „Maybe Moni can keep the chill at bay,“ he comments while glancing back the way they came from. „I would swear these trees are looking at us,“ he nervously stares into the forest to his side for a little while and rattles his shield and club as if making sure he’s prepared for a fight. „What you think?“ he directs at Whistler and infuses him with guidance.

 Aeron summons a sacred flame in his palms, using it to keep himself warm, though the cold never truly bothers him, it could still hurt him cause of his armor

 ((Not sure what's up with the hover text on those rolls - for some reason it's showing me that you rolled 7d6? - but yes, it would be Perception, so I'll take the number from the first check.))

Whistler, you look back again just in time to see one of the trees lurch to a stop, now only 40 feet behind you. A knot in the bark that looks like a mouth seems to say "Oh, crap," and then quickly snap shut. All at once, the trees begin moving again, now with an extremely focused and threatening energy.
