Thea exhales deeply, evidently happy that the group managed to retrieve the golden item. "Well done friends. Now we only need to get the last piece. I really wish we could get the white statues to help us for that too."
Liavyre begins to sift through the crumbled remains of the statues. In each of the remains there appears to be a smooth sphere of shiny black rock, about one inch in diameter. (Investigation to determine the stone)
"I feel like we wont get off this lightly again. So what are our strategies? Cut through and alet whatever is living here, or burn it down with the potential of pissing it off majorly?"
Liavyre says, "No doubt if we attempt to move through — we'll likely get stuck in a web and possibly become lunch. It doesn't cut easily either. Burning it is probably the more direct approach, but has near zero chance of us being unnoticed. It's a shame we can't blast it all away. I suppose if I had to pick one — I'd say burn it. Unless anyone has any other suggestions...?"
She is probably slightly more in favor of burning it. Not only because trying to cut through it is difficult, but she hates spiders and doesn't want to be eaten by one. Especially ones from the Underdark.
OOC: I feel as if we're overlooking a simple way through. I know she made a perception check earlier in the room, but was there any indication of a way to bypass the webs or remove them since the other room had magical chess pieces? Is there no giant Roomba that comes through and sucks it all up? Would it have been possible to order the white pieces to follow us and clear a path or are the bound to that one room?
Liavyre notes that in comparison to the other room, they are direct opposites as the room that was upstairs is pristine and looks clean, while this room looks like it has decayed and left to the ages. It may be that any traps will be non-functional with the look of it, and the cobwebs can be cut through with a bladed weapon relatively easily. As for the white pieces, they seem to have deactivated once the "puzzle" was completed, she did not attempt to reactivate them.
"I say we should cut through it. It would not be well to harm sacred ground with fire."

Fjorgin begins to gather the cobwebs with his morningstar. Within a moment it looks like some horrific bundle of spidery cotton candy.
With a few more minutes working in this manner, the group can begin to head into the room. Surprisingly there haven't been any spiders stirring from the disruption of their webs; the walls still lightly coated in the tensile natural fabrics. Up ahead, the group can see that the room leads to another passageway, which appears to be devoid of cobwebs, and at the end of it appears to be a chest, dimly lit by some magical illumination in the passage.
Finishing slashing through the webs with a short sword as she walks, she is happy to be out. "I'm still not convinced we're safe yet. Some of those webs were new when I looked before. Is that chest safe to open or even approach? Looks like some arcane forces at work here."

Not the least bit surprised by this discovery, Thea will take out the chalice again and try fitting the piece on top of it.
The piece clips into place snugly. These two pieces were obviously meant to link in place.

"I'm glad we dealt with this rather than those who dwell in the Underdark. Now we can open that blasted door. Good job everyone."
She will take a moment to see if anything of note was housed inside the statues that crumbled on the room-sized game board.

Liavyre isn't an expert on stone materials, but they appear to be polished pieces of obsidian.
Liavyre says, "Probably obsidian by the looks of it. Might be worth something the right person." She puts it in her backpack.
"I suppose it's back to the spider room?"

The group returns to the right passage to find that the room of cobwebs is still as they left it.

The group reckons it would take about ten minutes to cut down the large amount of cobwebs.
"Let us get to work then. I'm afraid i wont be of much help for now, but you can count on me if something comes crawling out."
Fjorgin attempts to tear down the webs with his morningstar.
