Sandral will aim his hands low, to attempt to keep the flames from engulfing his companion, as he chants the words he knows from within, a plume of yellowish flames bout out at the roper and the tendrils holding the two of them.
Burning Hands (2nd level): The target(s) must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw, taking 15 fire damage on a failure, or half as much on a successful one.
If the tendrils holding him in place burn away, he will attempt to move around the back of the roper to give a tactical aid to Sen'ra (flanking).
Akton will continue his cangrip fueled assualt, having a feeling that he would be far from useful due to the fact he was unsure how erll his blades would work. "Why does this pile of rocks keep bothering us? Can you please just die and allow us to continue on our way?"
Sen'ra removes the tendrils grasping him, following it with a slash of his longsword. The weapon strikes the creature but its thick skin prevents it from any damage.
Sandral releases the same fire Sen'ra used earlier at the Roper and the tendril holding him.
Roper Dexterity Saving Throws DC 15: 8
The creature succumbs to the fan of flames, making Sandral free from its grasp. He then moves behind it in an attempt to help his comrades.
Alton makes another string of insults against the Roper.
Roper Wisdom Saving Throw DC 15: 8
His words takes effect as the Roper flails from the pain.
Rinc closes to the creature and stabs it with his spear. His first strike wasn't deep enough to penetrate it. His second strike targets the same spot. He can feel it was close enough for it to pierce but it lacked just a bit more strength.
He then shoves his trusty shield against the creature.
(OOC: I couldn't remember if we were using it in this campaign. Regardless, it means that it needs to look one way or another to bite one of the people next to it.)

Alton growls as he begins to mutter a strange nelkdu, his voice soon breaking out in song as he tries to blast the creature with a more powerful dissonant whispers.

Sandral will once again create a cone of flame, now he has an open area beside him he feels more comfortable at scorching the roper and the tendril around him.

Logum interrupts the creature's feisty maw from digging in through Rinc's body, saving him from a nasty wound.
Then suddenly everyone was colored surprised when Alton breaks out on the back and made a solo concert as his cape flutters even without any wind in this abandoned mine, directing and whispering malicious words at the Roper.
Roper Wisdom Saving Throw DC 15: 5
His imposing figure scares the wits out of the Roper but at the last moment it managed to remain calm.
Logum then attempts to follow up it with another mockery of the creature's failed attempt at biting.
Roper Wisdom Saving Throw DC 14: 20
The Roper was desensitized by the constant insult thrown at it and retains its state of mind.
Sandral then creates another fan of flames to remove their bindings and attempting to burn the hideous monster trying to eat them.
Roper Dexterity Saving Throw DC 15: 8
It seems the creature learns more of their tactics as it succesfullh saves itself from burning completely by blocking it using the tendrils grappling the three of them.
However, the injuries it acquired during the battle takes its toll, slowly eating away its conciousness and drops dead to the ground with a large thud echoing through the mines before silence starts to envelope the room.
Below its body, Logum sees something amiss. A thick square steel covered with dust and rust. There is a distinct emblem of a shield in the center and four rectangular holes on each side. He tries to lift it but its weight is too much for a single person to pull.

Sandral breathes a sigh of relief, now that the roper has been defeated. "Is everyone else alright?" He asks, looking to the others who had been in the maw of the monster.
Sen'ra starts burning the dead Roper's body but from the size of fire he can produce, it would take a while to completely turn it into ashes. Whether there's any sense to it, the fire genasi only knows.
Alton will walk over to join the others, kicking at the beast's corpse. "That is what you get for attacking us." He mutters before stepping away and dusting his boot off.
Sen'ra will again evade the Roper.

Unfortunately, flanking is an optional rule (unless I agreed to implement it earlier and forgot about it).
If you guys want it, I'll make it part of the campaign on the next combat encounter.
The creature's lively appearance from the start has already disapeared as it makes less movement with its body.
(OOC: I couldn't remember if we were using it in this campaign. Regardless, it means that it needs to look one way or another to bite one of the people next to it.)
Sen'ra will take another sword slash to it.

After scrutinizing the plate, Logums discerns there are switches below located on the edges, one on each side.
After pressing the switches, the steel plate loosens and became much more easier to lift and remove.
When the plate was removed, a rope can be seen connected to the side of a narrow path leading below.
