(Were we in our waiting cells just before this? Also with said portal, can we see the area we are going g to at all before stepping in? I'm just trying to figure out Sir Spitz. Narrow hallway would probably mean dismount, but if they could see it was a hallway maybe Sir Spitz is left back with the other critters.)

 You cannot. I meant to say door, but the door is a portal of sorts. 

So Count will dismount from Sir Spitz once in the hallway, and hands the reins to Yoku to lead behind the group. Count will walk next to Nadir but let her set the pace.

As you all stand, examining your surroundings, a figure darts from the corner at the end of the hall and fires a Ray of Frost at Nadir! Attack: 19 Damage: 5 and on a hit Nadir’s walking speed is reduced by 10 ft for one round. The figure then ducks back behind the corner. 

Out of the doorway on the left side a hadrosaurus lumbers out and down the hall toward you, swinging its tail towards Count! Attack: 15 Damage: 9

Does the hadrosaurus take up the whole hallway?

I'm hunting dinosaurs! Yoku nocks an arrow and declares this dino as his mark.

That hits but doesn’t kill! Another hadrosaurus walks in and lumbers behind the first. Dolrik is up!

Toll the Dead at the injured hadrosaur.

DC 14 Wis Save or 9 necrotic damage.

The save is a nat 1 and it goes down’

Nadir’s turn, and you all now have half cover from ranged attacks from its body blocking the hall, and the area it’s in counts as difficult terrain. 

Nadir throws a spear at the second saucier and assumes a defensive position behind the corpse, trying to make it difficult for the second one to close in.

Attack:1 (bless) plus  23 Damage: 5

The spear strikes deep into its body and it groans in pain, but it doesn’t die. Count is up!

Count will ready an action to throw a Fire Bolt at the magic user if they come around from the corner again.

Attack: 18 Damage: 6

 (Brilliant!)

The spellcaster does indeed pop out, and just as the Firebolt is about to hit her in the face she throws up her arms, blocking it with Shield! She then fires the ray of frost at Count instead: Attack: 8 Damage: 5 and pops back and the corner (you have 3/4 cover now from the two dinos being in the way)

The second hadrosaur clambers over the body of the first and swings at Nadir! Attack: 14 Damage: 6
