I don’t know, I thought not meeting the strength requirements of the heavy armor reduces speed by 10 ft. Not that that really matters, we didn’t have to move much so far.
I also think we sell for half the price and pay full. Not sure if you took that into account.
Previously I thought we sold for full price so I was relying on that. I can adjust proposal based on DM call on that
Actually, I'm pretty sure that monster equipment sells for nothing given its terrible condition, and used adventurer equipment sells for half.
Would the DM be willing to change the monster equipment rule given the nature of this campaign?
Side question: Will we get loot in the form of magic items?
Well…I’m still thinking. I’m thinking that both of the former will sell for 3/4 price-I know used equipment goes for half BUT you guys are gladiators now, a lot of people would be fans, and they’d be willing to pay a little extra to get equipment used by/captured by you.
And yes, you will eventually.

Swap breastplate for chain mail for Sir Spitz (300 each)
Sell all group inventory except a back up weapon for each, javelin, spears, and the hide armor. Depending on what people keep that's about 230gp. Count will throw his light crossbow and bolts to the group loot.
Then purchase a set of Splint mail for Dolrik, Studded Leather for Peregrin, and a second healers kit, which is 255gp. Count can wait on getting the greatsword since Sir Spitz will be better armored and he has the lance/flail options at the moment.
Then we are left with the held out weapons, one set of leather armor, 2 hide and one chain mail, one shield.
Thoughts?
Also we could do ring mail for Sir Spitz to save 80gp but I prefer the AC if we like his usefulness
Nadir can contribute another light crossbow and 20 bolts if this helps. She also has 4 spears as backup and four javelins as ranged option. For me you can spent all for maximum effect. At 3/4 re-sell price we don’t lose much and can rotate equipment. Anyone has proficiency in arcane or alchemy tools? Perhaps we can harvest the more exotic beasts for spell components, or carve something out of their bones with woodcarver’s tools for nicer souvenirs from their favorite gladiators. Just some ideas for downtime activities.

For clarity’s sake, with Dolrik trading up to splint, would he keep his old chain mail as backup (so the hide backup could be sold)? Or, in your calculations, was the “retired” chain mail sold to fund the buys going on?

Keep chain and both hide armors as spares (Peregrin's leather armor would be the 4th spare after upgrading to studded)
In that case, what's the ruling for two handed weapons when mounted? As far as I can find there are no rule that says you can't use a two handed weapon in mounted combat but I could see that being questionable. If so I could get that greatsword in place of the studded leather for an extra 5gp

At 5HP, the mastiff is probably more suited to guard our gear in our holding cell!
