Zandir makes his way up to the helm. "What the hell is Captain thinkin." You all watch as Captain Flamegrabs a rope that was thrown onto the deck from the other ship He turns and says "Time to face my past." and then swings across to the other ship. Zandirsays "I suppose I am the Captain now and I say we can't leave him. What do you all think? Can you handle them?"
DM: Tex, make an investigation check. Zane, they do not seem familiar to you.
"Its worth a try. The captain is mighty decent and I rather not lose him. Perhaps we can get into the water and climb aboard the other ship stealthily" says Bellamy with a touch of excitement in his voice.
Tex describes his observations to Zandir about the combat prowess of the other ship's crew. (Investigation: 17)

Sorry, I'm beginning to enter a vacation period and while I will try to check-in at least daily, I cannot promise that I will always be able to do so. From September 1, I should be back to normal.
Tex, you can tell by the size of the ship, it has three decks as compared to the Dragonfly's two. It is much longer as well. On the top deck, besides the bearded man, you can count four other deck hands each with a scimitar at their hip. They are not heavily armored, they wear light clothing. You can see a few windows lower down on the side of the boat, they are few feet above the water line but cannot see into them from where you are so you cannot tell if there are more crew members aboard or not.
After you share this information with Zandir,"Based on the Captain's history it'd be safe to bet these are Revelry pirates. Heard he got mixed in with em by accident when he was smugglin goods. Barely escaped them he told me. Lousy circumstance to come across em in the open waters. Guessing he doesn't want to drag all of us into his mess. Well if you ask me I think you all can take em on. You took down that serpent no problem. What are a few scraggly pirates gonna do to ya?"
Zane turns his back to the other ship and says, "Do you realize that we have to murder every last one of them, sink the ship and never utter a word about it? Otherwise the whole Revelry will swear bloody vengeance on us and our families. If there is any loot to be found on that ship then it can't be sold within a thousand miles of here less it will be traced back to us. And it will definitely make us pirates."
He looks at the people present. "Not that I'm against it, mind you, but it's dangerous and has massive consequences if not done right."
"It's a shame to sink such a fine vessel," Tex objects. "If we must fight them, can't we keep the ship?" With shield in one hand, he stands ready to throw his spear at the nearest target at the first sign of hostility, judging distances. Back in Urzin, during the very few occasions that he was involved in more aggressive squabbles, the challenge was to get from one tortoise to the other without being trampled over. Is there any clear way how they could even enter the other vessel?

Rel grinds her teeth in frustration. Keeping her face neutral she speaks in a low voice to the others, including Zandir:
"There is no one that wants to take on these pirates more than I. But I am telling you what the Captain asked of us. Get Zandir on the wheel, Captain himself will most likely not be back, once the pirates are distracted with him, Zandir is to slowly steer back towards Port Damali, whatever happens make sure the lad in the box is safe. As much as I want to fight, I have to believe that with these pirates, the Captain knows best."
She tries to impress the importance of the Captain's parting words upon everone, but the wind whipping her hair into her face and the need to speak surreptitiously make her far less persuasive than she ordinarily is: Persuasion with Guidance: 10
"Please. His last words to me were 'I trust you to do as I ask.'"
Rel prays for Guidance once more should she need to make her case further.
Zandir takes all of your thoughts into account before saying, "This has always been the captains plan should there be any attempt on his boat. The damned fool wants to play the hero, sacrifice himself so his boat and crew can escape. In a few minutes I am sure we will see a sail or two from that boat go up in flames. His one bit of magic he knows, going to try and cause a distraction while we make distance towards the port. So here is the deal. It is your lives that would be at stake heading over there and since you aren't part of my crew I won't force you to follow my orders, I will let you all decide if you want me to steer back towards them, or back on course to Port Damali. I won't judge the vote one way or another, just know my vote is going to saving the captain. If you decide we want to engage we can come up with a boarding strategy."
Rel has in effect, already voted to follow the Captain's orders exactly and sail away. "I believe the Captain said what he did for a reason. All kinds of dangers to attacking as Zane has said, not to mention any fire on their vessel may spread to ours. But if we decide to fight, I'm in to the fullest."
I know I can Misty Step over to the other ship but then how to come back? Perhaps it is better to stay here and blast enemies off the decks.
She does look for another way to make it across to the other vessel, but yet again, the wind whips her hair into her eyes and mouth and she blinks and spits it out, trying to tie it up tighter as she does, cursing in Undercommon. No wind like this in the Underdark... need more practicality and less style.
If Rel can time it right, just before the fight starts, she casts and concentrates on her father's divine Blessing on the three people she trusts the most around her: Tex, the Captain and herself (assuming she is at the rail and the Captain is still within 30'). (Using a pact slot).
Tex chimes in, "A pack shouldn't be separated, we are strong together but weak when alone. The more they divide us the weaker we get. I say we get him out of there. Any of us wouldn't truly want to be left behind, now, would we?" With this he sides clearly with Zandir and Bellamy, albeit the latter's zeal for the battle worries Tex.

Zane says, "It is decided. We need to get on board and be fast while the surprise is on our side. Zandir, steer us closer."
He loosens the rapier on his hip. "There are five of them on the deck and five of us going across. Lets cut down the leader first, then at least I will jump across and disable their steering. Hopefully Zandir can keep us close so that you can continue using your ranged attacks."
Zandir smiles as he steers the ship in closer, "That's what I hoped you would say. Alright here we go. I'm going to get as close as I can. You can either jump across when I am near or grab a rope to wing across. The deck of that ship is much higher then ours so I am not sure you will have much luck hitting them from here though you can certainly try." The boat gets ever closer as you see from the other ship, smoke begin to rise into the air. "Now would be a good time to get across, the captain has got em distracted."
The Dragonfly is near the other ship. The jump across will be 5 feet and then will have to climb another 15 feet up. This will be an athletics check to do so. The ropes to swing across will also be an athletics check and would be the easier of the two ways to go across. Because of the height difference the line of sight is obscured on the rest of the crew and ranged attacks from the Dragonfly will be at disadvantage. There is a 'lookout' perch you could climb up as well to get a better view but there would only be room for one person. From that position ranged attacks would no longer be at disadvantage
Tex drops his shield and with all the agility that he can muster scrambles up the rigging to find a rope that might get him on board the other ship. Before jumping, however, he will take in the situation that has developed there and waits for his companions to be ready, too.

Bellamy pops his kitty claws out and jumps. He relatively easily scales the side of the other ship. Before cresting the top he ask Melby to fly over above the enemy ship so he can get a birds eye view of who is on deck and if any are near the railing he is about to climb onto.
If no enemy are near Bellamy will fully climb aboard the enemy ship.

Zane jumps and climbs up no problem (tabaxi actually have a climbing speed).
Seeing Thren struggle with the climb he will help him up as well (using Feline Agility to double his movement if needed).
Seeing Tex struggle with the climb as well he'll say "keep calm, climb with feet, keep close to the hull" (bardic inspiration d6 for you)
If he has an action left still then he'll stick his rapier into first available (will roll once confirmed).
