After hearing Zane idea Thren nods “we’re better off then for us at least splitting off, when we get to the port if people look for us it’s not one against many if we are attacked does anyone know of any decent place to regroup when we get paid” he pause for a second and looks at vale “look I know that use to be your brother but we need to drop him off and collect are groups payment to draw any suspicion away from us”
would Thren know if there is a temple to Korg in port demali
Meanwhile, Tex closes the crate to the best of his ability (tinker tools in log: 19+whichever ability mod) and repairs small scratches and damages by Mending what he can.
Sorry, I'm beginning to enter a vacation period and while I will try to check-in at least daily, I cannot promise that I will always be able to do so. From September 1, I should be back to normal.
You do know that because of Port Damali's size and diversity, there is worship of each of the prime deities and likely a temple to each. Where it is though you would not know, having not been there before.
Tex, using your sharp mind and steady hand, you are able to put the crate back together and there is no visible sign of tampering or anything that would give away the fact that it has been opened.
Valeshrugs and agrees "You are right, it may be best if I do not get too close, Lord Agustin may have some of his workers that may recognize me and give us away. We should find a tavern or something once we dock to set up a meeting place. I will want to be kept in the loop at all cost. Is there anything any of you can teach me to defend myself if needed? I am not very practiced in self-defense or anything of that nature."
Captain Flame begins heading up the stairs saying "Very well, lets make our way to port. Shouldn't be long so prepare yourselves for anything. Zandir, bring the Dragonfly in to port!"
Zane says to the group, "OK, so we need to get our stories straight. It's very easy - we just don't mention Vale or opening the crate. Everything else is fine."
He takes one step forward, turns around and in mock voice says, "Hi, I am here for the package you were hired to protect. Was there any trouble on the way?"
He then takes a step back to where he just stood and exclaims, "HOLY SHIT MAN! We got hit by a storm and attacked by a massive sea serpent, you can see the marks it left! I was almost killed myself! I got bit here and here," pointing to holes in his leather armor. He ends the performance. "And then I will launch into the details of the serpent and the fight and so on and so forth. They will get bored quickly."
The largest city on the western coast of Wildemount, the resplendent seaside metropolis of Port Damali is nestled against the Tyodan River where it meets the Lucidian Ocean. The city is built atop a cluster of leveled hills, and slight changes of elevation physically mark the variation between wards.
The jewel of the Menagerie Coast, the original Marquesian colony, and the unofficial capital of free trade outside the empire, Port Damali is a bustling city filled with music, color, and commerce. The massive port hosts ships from all around the world, creating a mishmash of cultures and trades that mingle to form the society of Port Damali. Trade routes splinter from all other sides of the city to ensure rapid transport of goods to destinations throughout Wildemount and beyond.
The city's architecture is varied and inconsistent; the inner wards display their own historical roots or lavish opulence, while the outer wards attempt to combat the slum-like atmosphere with cheap, colorful banners and street buskers.
After about 20 minutes, you hear the sounds of port bells as the Dragonfly is guided to a dock by one of the dockworkers. The boat is tied off to the dock as Captain Flame scans the docks for anyone to approach the ship. "Hmmm, we were told to wait aboard the ship and they would come to us to retrieve the crate. Hopefully they didn't lose patience and leave. After all we weren't delayed that long"
As you walk up on the deck you can see the massive city before you. You hear a low, rumbling hum coming from the sky above. Looking up you can see a ship with glowing blue arcane crystals flying over head. "Never get sick of seeing those"Captain Flame remarks "Might as well enjoy the view while we wait."
"I too like seeing sky ships and the arcane fueling. Alright Melby keep an eye out. I am going to take a cat nap." says Bellamy. He then goes to his cabin and curls into a ball on his cot
After the beautiful but harrowing ocean journey, Rel's grey eyes sparkle as she takes in the sights and sounds of Port Damali for the first time.
She is even more awestruck by the flying ship overhead, staggering with vertigo, an upbringing in the Underdark having left her ill prepared to see anything so large flying so high without falling. Taking a gulp of air, she lowers her eyes to gaze at the more traditional ships, and the crowds at the docks.
She leans on rail and attempts to take a short rest, continuing to watch. To the Captain and others, still awake, she wonders aloud, "I wonder if there is a chance that we were never supposed to make it here. Or if our green... friend with the sword has arrived here before us."
Captain Flame scowls at the mention of Vrakathagain, "That was a new trick of his, or perhaps never needed it before. Vanishing like that, have you ever seen any sort of magic like that?" Captain Flame clenches his fist and says "I just hope the people who are supposed to pay us show up soon. Before anything else unexpected comes our way."
You all can complete a short rest if needed.
After about an hour and a half of waiting, the sun begins to fall over the western mountains in the distance casting a bright pink light in the sky above. The Dragonfly is approached by four individuals. One of them, a human woman with a calm yet intense air about her, speaks for the group. She wears a violet vest with golden trim over her white shirt. Her grey leather gloves and pants are well-kept, and her violet boots flare out at the collars. She wears a small hat to cover her moderate length brown hair. "Greetings Dragonfly crew! We are here to inspect and unload the crate on behalf of Lord Agustin. Upon successful inspection, we will hand over your payment. Can we come aboard?"
Thecaptaincalls back. "Of course, come on up. Watch your step it can be slippery."
Melby informs Bellamy on the newcomers. He stretches and then heads to the deck. He comfortably leans against the railing as he watches. If this goes south then I can at least jump ship
Captain Flame scowls at the mention of Vrakathagain, "That was a new trick of his, or perhaps never needed it before. Vanishing like that, have you ever seen any sort of magic like that?" ...
(Earlier, in reply to Captain Flame on Water above):
"I... I have seen some powerful mages who were in service of my mother do it, sometimes to travel hundreds of feet, taking someone with them, sometimes with a loud clap of thunder." (Rel has witnessed Dimension Door and Thunder Step being cast but doesn't know much about them). "But I do not know where he could have gone that was within hundreds of feet where we would not have seen him unless it was under the water. His lesser Misty Step magic, I do know about, as I can occasionally do such myself, but that only jumps thirty feet and requires line of sight. As for even more powerful teleportation magic or travel to other planes, I know it is possible, especially if there is a designated destination already set up, but I have never seen it done to my knowledge. Perhaps the forked metal rod he used allowed him to do so." (referring to Word of Recall, Teleport etc.)
Rel manages to relax a bit, regaining a bit of her pact magic that she had used to heal Vlad. She keeps her shield donned and leans against the rail, taking in the sights, sounds and smells of the port city. When the newcomers board the ship, she watches at a distance, keeping a neutral pose.
Tex joined Zane resting in their quarters, somehow he feels that whatever Zane's hunch was, he might be right. By the time of the arrival of the group he had dozed but Lizzy woke him at the merest commotion on the upper deck. He and his defender will wait in view of the crate for the group to come down and greets them polite but brisk with a hand sign. He and, naturally, Lizzy, have every intention to stay close to the crate while they inspect the crate and observe what they're doing. Should they cast any spells, he is prepared to spend a spell slot to detect magic to learn the school but he is not prepared to answer any question they should have. Unless he had been hired by any one of them he will reply to anything directed at him in Draconic, saying "sorry" with a solemn expression on his face.

He groans and is very confused by the additional noises on the ship. He doesn't go anywhere, just starts to listen and quietly stretch while still laying down.
The woman leads the three others aboard the dragonfly. She speaks to Captain Flame "Assuming you are the captain of this....vessel, can you show me the way please." As she speaks she stands with her arms crossed behind her back. Her demeanor is proper, almost noble like. Captain Flame gestures his hand to follow, "Of course, right this way" He walks her and her companions down the stairs and to the cargo hold where he points to the crate. "There it is. Take a look. If you need help unloading..." She raises her hand to pause the captain from speaking further as she begins to look over the crate. She takes a few minutes before saying "Well, the crate appears to be intact." You then watch as she closes her eyes for a few seconds. Upon opening her eyes again you now see them glowing bright white as she looks over the crate once more. Meanwhile the other three just stand still as they watch.
"Captain!" The woman shouts, "Where are those responsible for guarding the crate, get them all out here."Captain Flame goes around the ship, notifying each of you to report to the cargo hold.
“Hello love how are you going no need to shout some of the crew are sleeping” he walks up to here “Thren nice to meet you” he has a nice smile on his face and like with Rel when he introduced himself goes and kiss the women on the hand
