“Watch …”, Tex started saying when remembering that he was silenced, and instead he puts his hand on Zane’s arm to get his attention. Then he points with two fingers on his eyes, followed by pointing to the rug inside the room.

Sorry, I'm beginning to enter a vacation period and while I will try to check-in at least daily, I cannot promise that I will always be able to do so. From September 1, I should be back to normal.
"Don't know if they drink but someone here was certainly smoking." Lana breathed in the air in the room assessing the smell. "I mean, that was definitely a smoking room. Fancy family they were, those Briarwoods."
She was about to step in, when Tex began his pantomime. "Something magical? The carpet?" Lana watched the experiment with the piece of statue. "If there is some kind of trap there, I would expect it to react to living beings. Can try to go around that thing and we will see what happens. Maybe this is "just" another treasure?"
If there were no objections, Lana would slip into the room trying to keep her distance from the suspicious rug.
Stepping inside the room, outside the zone affected by silence, Tex clarifies, "The rug is enchanted. I'm not sure that they would place a trap in their leisure room; on the doors, yes, but here? I expect it to be some magical item but we need to be wary nonetheless." He approaches slowly to one side of the rug, prepared to jump back, and carefully touches the corner. If nothing happens, he rolls the rug up and straps it onto Lizzy for later inspection, or identification.

Zane says, "Maybe.. the painting led to something behind the painting. What if the rug leads to something under the rug?"
He pulls out a grappling hook and ties a rope to it, then attempts to gently hook it to the carpet. He then heads out the door with the end of the rope and looks to others for approval.
You watch as Tex touches the rug, ready to react but nothing happens. He then positions himself to roll it up and begins to do so but as he does, the rug seemingly comes to life and wraps itself around Tex.
Rug to hit on Tex: 23 hits. Tex you are restrained , blinded , and unable to breath.
"For once I was half-expecting a friendly rug. Well its time to put you down" says Bellamy. He then moves closer to get a better sight line and chucks an orb of fire
"Would be too good to be true," sighed Lana. "The house is practically made of traps."
While talking, she moved her Mark at the aggressive floor decoration, realizing as she did so, that shooting now is not an option. Lacking an obvious option, she tried to do second best - pulling the rug off Tex. Unsuccessfully (rolled 2 with resulting 1 with modifiers).
The small kobold clearly struggles inside the vicious floorcloth as he twists and turns in an attempt to escape. unable to move sufficiently to free himself, he grabs his spear and moves it up and down, hoping to puncture the rug somewhere and weaken its structural integrity (Attack (canceled adv/dis): 20, damage 8 magical piercing).
Tex tries to wriggle free while Liz stands aside unsure about what to do in this situation (Acrobatics: 13).

Tex snakes out of the rug's grip and, as soon as he got the air to do so, he yells at Liz to strike (BA) and draws his own spear levelled menacingly at the rug to dare again.
Attack (Liz): 24 for 3 force damage

Tex
You do see an aura of enchantment magic from the rug.
“Watch …”, Tex started saying when remembering that he was silenced, and instead he puts his hand on Zane’s arm to get his attention. Then he points with two fingers on his eyes, followed by pointing to the rug inside the room.

Zane's eyebrows go up, then he nods, takes one of the rubble pieces nearby from the destroyed statue, and gently throws it onto the rug.
He also looks at the windows (what's the weather like? Would the sun shine inside should the windows be broken?)
If the curtains were pulled back the sun would shine in. It is a sunny day in Port Damali
As Zane throws a piece of rubble onto the rug, nothing happens.
"Don't know if they drink but someone here was certainly smoking." Lana breathed in the air in the room assessing the smell. "I mean, that was definitely a smoking room. Fancy family they were, those Briarwoods."

Zane goes in as well and pulls the curtains aside.
He says quietly, "I guess the light at the other door is not from sunlight as it's shining from this side right now."
"I wonder what does that magic rug, but that is more another time. Shall we check the next room." says Bellamy

Rug to hit on Tex: 23 hits. Tex you are restrained , blinded , and unable to breath.
Initiative has begun, Rel goes first.
Standing just outside the door (to the northwest of it, outside the sphere of Silence), Rel sends black eldritch energy smashing into the rug.
Rel's Eldritch Blast to hit (no longer at advantage due to Silvery Barbs but first roll still higher): 20 (dirty)
Rel's Eldritch Blast damage: 8 force
(Post edited to remove Silvery Barbs because Rel was surprised during the rug's attack and could not take reactions.)

As Rel, and Bellamy unleash their magic onto the carpet, you can hear the faintest muffled grunts of a kobold in pain as each spell strikes conencts.
Rel to hit: 20 hits for 4 force damage to the rug and 4 force damage to Terx
Bellamy to hit: 16 hits for 1 fire damage to the rug and 1 fire damage to Tex
Lana attempt to pull Tex free: 3 Fails
Tex is up (You cannot command Lizzy currently as you cannot speak being suffocated)

Zane goes for his rapier, then looks at the situation and decides against it.
He will try to yank the carpet off of Tex instead. Athletics 11 total.
IF Zane can see Tex, he will cast Healing Word for 7 health. If not, then he will try to give Tex some bardic inspiration instead.
Zane shakes his head in confusion and just notices that Tex actually slipped out of the carpet.
So instead he will attempt to unravel the monster with his rapier. And utterly fails (rolled nat 1).
He will still cast the Healing Word at Tex as it was in the previous post (re-marking the spell slot and taking back the bardic inspiration).
Tex snakes out of the rug's grip and, as soon as he got the air to do so, he yells at Liz to strike (BA) and draws his own spear levelled menacingly at the rug to dare again.
