The left most passage leads you to a dead end to the south. Hugging the left wall you guys circle the whole area until you find a ladder in the eastern passage. Two Yuan-Ti Malisons hiss at you and point their weapons in your direction. Briggs urges you guys to leave, telling you that the ladder leads to the queen's quarters. You circle around some more until you come to another ladder. This one is to the north of the original intersection. You guys climb it and find yourself in a narrow corridor. You can tell that this passage was originally a veranda but the castle sinking turned the side that would open up to a garden into an impassable wall of dirt and soil. To the east is a wall which was part of the castle with three doors lining it. One is close to you, one is to the north and another is to the south. The passage itself also stretches toward the north and the south. There are two holes in the ground, each ten feet long. One is to your south and another is to your north.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Val, seeing that they have reached the point were troubles could be there, shifts into his wolf form and smells down the corridor trying to catch any smell or if he listen something.
Gendan, on the door next to you, hear what sounds like some footsteps and chatting in draconic.
Val, you smell some snake men to your south and north.
DM: Which way is left depends on which way you're facing and which way you're willing to go. That's why I always say "East" or "North". These might not actually be "North" or "East" in the world itself but rather arbitrary directions within the dungeon that I say to avoid confusion.
As for going left, you are in a 5ft wide passage. I think it's completely up to you which direction you wish to go because you can hug the left wall regardless of whether you go north or south.
Briggs steps forward and places his head on the door. After listening for a while he says, "Beyond the door seems to be a guard post. They're talking about how their recent hunt went and how the last battle with the Kobolds went. One guy is bragging about how he heroically saved his entire party from a swarm of wooden puppets and everyone else is accusing said guy of spewing bullshit."
Elsara shakes her head. "If we just turn around and follow the right-hand wall, we'll be back at the entrance."She explains. She then seems to have another idea, and pulls a piece of chalk (1 piece) out. "We can draw arrows on the walls if you want to point back to where we came from."
( I admit that I am a little bit lost here. I've smelled snake men both north and south and we are trying to get pass out the yuan-ti zone, right? any way to discern in wich way there are less yuan-ti? like the smell is more intense in one or the other corridor... )
Val, you smell about the same amount of Yuan-ti in both directions. The south side is a bit stronger because the hole to the south leads to the intersection you just passed.
The wolf heads north, stops, look at the group and continues walking in that direction. After a few steps he repeats the gesture, waiting for them to follow him.
The wolf doesn't get very far however, since you encounter the hole to the north after about 30ft of movement. The hole itself is quite deep and it disappears into the darkness.
Elsara follows along behind Wolf-Val. "Wow... that's a big hole." She comments. She thinks for a second, then looks for a smallish stone to drop down the hole to hear how far it falls.
The tension gets Gendan excited. Her hand is near the sword, and her fingers flick with purple energy.

DM: So... which way are you guys going to go?
Same rule of thumb, the left-most direction we can!

What do you do?
I think left-most would send us to the North, but Gendan would like to check out these doors first. She listens at the left-most door.

“Hey dragonman, you seem to understand everyone down here. There are voices behind this door, can you make out what they’re saying?”

Runt growls. I dislike load boasting. Are we lost? These tunnels feel like a madman maze.

Yes, is there any way to know if we are going in circles or not?
