Devarus will give whatever room they are assigned to a cursory once over. But, he is however content to wait for lunch, staying only enough on guard as to never be far from his weapons, or doffing his armor, a simple matter though it may be.
I apologise for missing another week of posts. I kinda fell ill over that time, not the dreaded C, but been unable to really do much during that time. If you'd prefer me to bow out because of my lack of interaction, I understand and will do so.
Elsara, eager to taste some home cooking, would happily look around the room they are waiting in. If there are any intricate ornaments she will be looking over them with big shiny eyes and a childish grin.
Elsara is distracted by the very very gaudy paint used in the house. Also she notices a special magic device in the kitchen. It is a Frost Chest, a large chest with special magic runes inscribed on them that keep whatever is inside it very cool. These things are very expensive and thus, only seen aboard military ships (The Vortex did not have one since it was originally a merchant ship and was not fully geared up at the time of the mission) and inside the houses of extremely rich nobles like Kings and Council Members. The one in Aron's house is a smaller one and it is very old. This indicates that Aron's grandfather who built this place was very rich at one point in time.
After likely a half an hour at least of performing maintenance on the various weapons on the half-drow's person, curiosity gets the better of him. For at least the room they are eventually assigned to wait in, he notes any potential exits, and....
(To DM: This is very late, but what does the room we are allowed to rest in actually look like on the inside?)

To Deva: There's 5 rooms on the second floor accessible via balcony. Two of the rooms are being used by Aron and his brother. The remaining 3 rooms are for the party. The rooms are on the small side. There's a chest of drawers for clothes, though they are empty. There's a small bedside table with a lamp on it. Finally there is one bed. The walls are painted a very ugly shade of red and an equally ugly lime green carpet is on the floor. Each room can hold 2 people, where one of you have to sleep in a sleeping bag. You can choose who you want to room with. Since there's 5 of you, one of you will have to sleep alone. You can squeeze more than 2 people into a room if you really want to but then I'm going to impose penalties for uncomfortable bedding on your skill checks for a while.
Before long, Aron calls everyone over to the dinning room for lunch. He serves everyone their food. It mostly consists of mashed potatoes, some bread, a bit of meat and gravy and some boiled veggies. In all honesty, the food is not that great. You guys have definitely eaten lot better food. Still it is a step above field rations and burnt cooking. After lunch Aron offers to make you tea.
DM: Please choose who you will room with at night. Just going to get it out of the way now for sake of convenience. In terms of narrative, your characters are also deciding this... whenever. That part is up to since the exact time for deciding this in-character is not very important or time sensitive.
So what are you guys doing for the rest of the evening?
Devarus gives an at least appreciate smile, but shook his head 'no' to tea. "I'm afraid my mother spoiled me with this rather rare combination to the point that no other sits right with me. My apologies, Mr. Aron." He admits. As for sleeping arrangements, he is quick to rope Valwarin into being his sleeping buddy, hoping the elf might understand without speaking of things, a difficulty resting alone with the opposite sex. Once they are inside, he'd suggest the elf help him quietly move the chest of drawers into place to block of the door before bed time, still leery of things.
But as for the bed rrangements, he takes the sleeping bed route if given half the chance.

Valwaryn also rejects the tea but thanks Aaron for the dinner.
He nods to Dev about sharing the room but once they are inside he says
"Are you sure about moving that there? It could prevent us going into our friends aid in case they need us... If you prefer I could keep watch whileyou rest and hten you will take watch as I rest for a while.. "
"Not prevent, but certainly delay us, I will admit. And with Runt sleeping on her own..." Devarus gets this pensive look on his face. Then he sighs and rubs the back of his neck. "At the very least it should be moved a ways over in the event we have no choice but to bar the door, and wish to do it face." He compromises. "But yes, let's keep to watches just in case. The two seem fine, but we've both had our experiences with dealing with appearances." He frowns and rubs his chin. "I would normally be against this sort of idea, but...might you be up for a little night time reconnaissance, might you check out the unexplored places tonight? As something small, that is. Just to be on the safe side."

"I agree " concedes Valwaryn about moving the cabinet so they can easly bar the door in case they need it.
" And yes... I could do that. I don't like this place. I don't like it at all, and appearences use to be decieving when this accursed magic is present... this Affectus Uti is insidious. When do you think is a good moment to do it? " asks to Dev.
Gendan will take the tea and smell it for a while before taking a sip.
In the kitchen, she takes note of the Frost Chest. It is particularly intriguing as it draws some similarities to her recent purchase: the Chest of Preserving. Gendan would keep an eye out for anything else of particular value. Specifically seeing if any floor boards or walls have peculiar cracks that may contain hidden valuables (she will pay similar attention in her quarters later). Perception 7
"I'll take the floor." Gendan says to Elsara as they take the remaining bedroom.
Gendan, the tea is normal tea though it is pretty good in terms of taste. It's much better than the dinner.
DM: Minor spoilers but this is necessary for progression of the story.
Is anyone staying watch on any room? Those that are, roll perception. Not Val though. Val, is going to go on recon so I'm going to need you to tell me the exact time at which you will be going scouting. Note that this world is using actual AM/PM time so use that to tell me when you are doing it.
As for Deva and everyone else, it is still some time before night. Aron gave you lunch. He is getting to work cooking Dinner for you. Bill invites you to join him in a game of cards while dinner is being cooked.
(I expect, though Val can correct me on this, that up at least until the late hour in which he goes on recon, Val and Dev will swap off watches. Or if better, Val can while trancing, and then wake up Dev when its time to recon, so that he's on alert. Either which way, I'll get the Dev's roll out of the way)
Devarus appeared to hesitate at the offer, as games of chance weren't always his jam. But being the polite man that he was, he could acquiesce to this much after refusing tea. So, he nodded, and took his place presumably at the kitchen table, or wherever the game was to be held. "You will have to go easy on me the first few rounds, I am afraid. It's been some time since I have even looked at any play cards." He says with a bit of a chuckle.
