Well I am very confused now. After a successful roll to look for their prints Val didn't get clear directions of where they went... I will assume that the 17 wasn't high enough to beat the stealth check of that... creepy, scary, ugly thing...
Can't he regain any of the lost HP or just the necrotic ones?
He cannot know it so I will act as he would and recognize that he is in more danger that he thought...
Turning away from that thing, the scream of fear and pain of the druid turns into a loud roar as he turns into a great feline with two saber tooth protuding from its maws.
As he turns he used the wild magic to try and heal his wounds, but feels the burning pain of them instead of the calming and healing energy of the magic.
Growling in anger he throws a great claw towards the deformed humanoid trying to rip apart the hand that holds the dreaded weapon, he then jumped over it, trying to reach the place whne he hears the sound of someone banging something metallic.
Bonus Action: Wild shape into a sabertooth tiger. Spent a 2nd lvl slot trying to heal: 9
Action: Claw attack: Attack: 20 Damage: 10
Movement: get the hell out of there, yes risking an opportunity attack from.. that... AC of the tiger: 12. Atheltics in case is necessary: 24
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Val:
For clarification, the Perception check was just to see if you spotted the big bad of the dungeon. The things going on with the party has been happening while Val was still making his way back to Deva's room in spider form. The reason I didn't give you any direction is because I was waiting to see which way the party goes so sorry about that. For now, I'll say that Val notices that the west door in the upper section of the room is open (the one that leads to the humid dinning room) so he can assume the party headed that way. He's headed that way regardless based on your above post since that is where the metallic sound would have come from.
The attack prevents Val from healing any HP, necrotic or otherwise. However, there are ways to reverse it though that would require some actions to study the nature of the wound: Arcana check. The healing with the 2nd level spell slot fails but the good news is that the spell slot is not spent on the failure.
The Farm Thing uses a reaction to take half damage from Tiger Val's attack. (Uncanny Dodge)
((Athletics not necessary))
The thing seems a bit surprised to see Val still standing. It was surprised even more to see Val shape-shift into a tiger and go for it's hand. With fast speed the creature moves his wrist in a way that should not be possible without causing some kind of dislocation and brushes the brunt of the bite with the metal handle of the rusty sickles. Val makes a run for it.
(More on next post)
Legendary Action: Cause Fear on Val. DC14 WIS: 16
It gives chase (moving 40ft because that's it's speed) and attacks Val again.
Sickle (added Bleeding Strike): 22 Dmg: 2 Slashing. On hit: Val will take 1d4 Bleeding damage at the start of each of your turns until you use an action to make a Medicine check DC18 Medicine Check. However, it will also fix itself if you are put out of wildshape. Sickle 2: 19 Dmg: 4 Slashing. Sickle 3: 27 Dmg: 4 Slashing.
Forgot to add the +6 mods so total damage should be 33
Val flees the scene as that thing sends a psychic laugh directly to Val's brain. It sends a shiver down his spine but he remains courageous otherwise. As Saber-tooth Val runs, he doesn't hear the thing moving at first. Then he hears a loud CLACK as the thing uses its legs like springs to leap into the air. It falls right on top of Val and sinks both of its scythes deep into Val. Val can feel the magic eat at his wounds, preventing them from closing and sending blood gushing out of his wounds with no sign of stopping.
Val's turn (I suggest you Dash and try to hide somewhere.)
Val gets to the next room, the dining room filled with furniture that's swollen from the moisture. The two north doors have been busted down, clearly by Runt's hammer. It seems his allies had come this way... but which way did they go? (I don't know that yet because they haven't decided. Though the two teams would catch up chronologically soon so they probably haven't gotten far)
Getting things in different timelines are always confusing it's ok.
I would say that now Val knows that the magic doesn't work and he needs to make something different, but now, with that maniac over him there's no time to think. ;)
I would take your suggestion and run as fast as he could, he would need to spent an action to hide so that would have to be next round ;)
Feeling the weakining power of the sickle Val tries to shake the creature from his back and run as fast as he can looking for a place to hide and try to heal some of his wounds.
The room seems to not be very good for hiding in but out of the two rooms to the north, one is a office room with a desk and paper stacks while the other room is a work shop with a table and drawer's full of rusty tools.
DM: Not fully adhering to combat rules here so I'll let you hide as a bonus action just this encounter. Tell me where you're hiding and roll stealth. An undisclosed bonus or penalty will be applied to your stealth roll based on how good your hiding place is. If the two rooms don't sound good to you, you can wait for a bit for the other party to catch up so that both of us can see if there are more places to hide like whatever is behind the south wooden door.
"Toss a coin to your Halfling? To love a giant? When Feathers Fly on Winds of Passion? Hmm.... Curious, but that doesn't..." Dev's eyes go wide after looking at one book, and immediately drops it and starts wiping his hands against his sides pants. "Ooh, that's, ooh... no. That explains those other stains." He says, shaking his head at the books. "I'll keep looking around over here, but see if you can get that southern door open would you, Ms. Ruu. And you too, Ms. Gendan."

With two swings of the sword, Gendan cuts through the swollen, rotting wood of the south door. With the door frame being the only thing left of the old door, the party now has access to the room beyond. Beyond the swollen south door is a hall way that's 5ft wide. The hall way twists and bends like a snake, going west then north then west then north and ending west again at a 20x20 ft space. At the end of the hall way, there is a door on the west wall, leading to a room that would be positioned somewhat next to the fire place of the dinning room if it weren't for a wall separating the two. On the south wall of the 20x20 space, is a single wooden door, this one not rusted and some stairs leading up. The floor of this place is wooden and very creaky. It is also covered in dust. The party should be careful as the wood might give beneath their feet. The ceiling is cracked and holds small hanging lanterns that have long been out of fuel. The walls are green, musty and claustrophobic.
Elsara: The Constant presence of Affectus Uti that permeates this entire place is making Detect Magic irritating and painful. Make a DC10 CON check or lose concentration on the spell.
Before Runt can get too far along, Devarus "Pssts" at her, hoping to grab her attention as he pulled out some rope. As excessive as it might've been, the goal had been to tie a length about her waist, and give her ten feet of slack before following a long with rope in hand. He would pass the excess back to the others, and only really not tie more people about in case whatever abomination showed up, requiring a bit more wiggle room out of the group.
Whether he can catch her in time or not, he proceeds with caution behind Runt, give or take a few feet.

Gendan, make an acrobatics check to pass the hall without breaking the floor. Why Gendan and no one else? I decided that the floor will break under one person. By random chance, that person is Gendan. If she succeeds the acrobatics check, the floor doesn't break.
"The magic, there is so much pain..." Elsara whispers, keeping her spell up as she needs to see this through. She follows with the others, pondering if the Affectus Uti was purposely nurtured, or through some twist in the person...
