"But perhaps you're right. There's no guarantee that they even see the arrow either. But if we are to do something it must be before what ever is going to happen occurs."
Doozey holds up a hand. "Hold a moment. Seems I was a bit antsy there for a second. Looks like.. yes, looks their waiting too. But for what, even I'm not too sure. Perhaps... perhaps that is the old Lizard King, waiting for an opportunity to take the potential dragon aware. Or mayhaps-..."The stoutling grimaces, and even the mastiff let out a low noise somewhere between a plaintive whimper and growl of annoyance.
"Mn. Aye, I'm with ya brother, I am."Doozey whispered and pats Biscuit on the head, prior to then sighing and shaking his head. "Sorta kick'n myself for not keeping ahold of the ammunition from the last party we ran into, but no use crying over spilled milk. I... I think I have an idea. And since as the closest point is still a ways off, looks like we're swimming it this time. Unless the rest of you got better idea?"
(OOC: Going off @MB's recent post in the OOC chat.)
"Swimming works for me," Denae states. "And it looks like Utar here is ready for a fight too. Make the move and I'll follow."
Turning to Neya: "Maybe you can shoot an arrow at the second closest camp just as we arrive at the closest one? Then it should look like it came from one camp to the next. Can you shoot while treading water?"
Having spent a longer moment than he had meant to calculating the total number of captives, not to mention livestock being held by the various lizardfolk clans, Utar comes to the realisation that slipping in and getting them all out unseen is out of the question. Getting these folk out of the swamp will be no mean feat. Likely there are some folk back in Phlan who'd be interested in helping CRAP out, but they're all too far away to be of any real use. It's like their stoutling said; RAMBO TIME!
Snapping back to the conversation at hand, Utar offers another way to Neya and Danae, "I'm not sure that you'd have to tread water at all. Neya, do you recall when we fought the water demon before we fought that coven a while back? Well I'm fairly sure I could use the same blessing to part water, allowing us to walk to the islands from the bottom of the swamp. Would that help you out with firing off your shots, or at least approaching the islands unseen perhaps?"
"Yes, that sounds like a better idea. Pitting two forces that are already in competition against each other."
She then turns to Utar, "That would certainly make the shot easier to achieve. We would need to close in inconspicuously, regardless. I don't think an arrow from my bow could go much further than from one side of the island to the other without other factors affecting the arrow's arc."
"I could, with some difficulty, do it from here. But' I don't want to risk hitting any of the captives."
Doozey remained pensive at the suggestion; but, having grown weary of shooting down suggestions, and even more so in speaking in general, the stoutling eventually let out a light sigh and began looking antsy as he looked to the island. "We'll just have to make the most of things. And who knows, perhaps if things don't quite pan out expected, Big Mama Yondalla will see us through this another way. Either way, whenever you're read Utar. Lets be on."

(OOC: I am not entirely sure what the plan is. Will Utar be relying on repeated castings of create or destroy water?)
Denae agrees with Doozey: "Yes, Utar, please lead the way. I'll try to help as I can. If you think an animal friend would enhance your plan in any way, just let me know. With some luck, we can maybe find one of those large frogs around these waters..."
(OOC: I hope I am understanding this correctly. Feel free to correct me if I misinterpreted anything.)
Utar steps forward and parts the swampy water ahead of him. The first 100ft worth of the 140ft watery crossing become nothing more than a muddy trek below ground level... at least for the next 10 minutes, that is.
Over at the King's Island, the lizardfolk clans had been mainly focus on each other. That said, 100ft of water suddenly parting is not something that is going to go unnoticed by the dozens and dozens of eyes moving about on that central spot. On your on shore, veiled by night, you still think you are unseen. You may even remain unsees while traversing the parted waters, but the water being parted is definitely noticed.
"Very well done."Denae compliments the party's cleric. "Not that am against this plan but, what happens once we reach the end of the parted water are are still 40ft away and dozens of feet below our destination?"
Ignoring the obviousness of his magical intervention, Utar channels even more divine power into his spell and completely severs the continuity of the circular water current around the central island (using 5th level spell slot instead of 4th.)
CRAP now has a clear, albeit noticeable to all, 140ft muddy path to the central island. The path leads directly to the closest camp, that of the Dusk-Dusk clan. Although they are confused by it, the other two clans are even more suspicious. What can the weaklings of Dusk-Dusk be plotting now!?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Looks like we have eyes on the tribe we are coming up behind," Neya says as she observes the activity, "We set this powder keg. It is time for the spark."
She goes into the water trench and clandestinely makes her way to where she judged would be the optimal place to loose arrows. She estimates around 30 feet from the shore
While the others watch, Neya makes her way into the parted waters, blending with the night itself. Finding a vantage point for her lobbed arrow, the eldritch sister enacts the next step of the plan.
(@Drache: How many arrows are you letting loose? Also, please roll a deception check. Since it is linked to your bow-shooting skills, it may be a DEX-based check instead of the default CHA. Since you are proficient with your bow, you may also add your proficiency bonus.)

'At least we might have a way to get folk across... maybe' Doozey thought with a grimace while watching Utar work his magic. So was the case initially, but then in remembering their skulking third party, he tried to get eyes back on them until was time to run the trench. Biscuit, on the other hand, looked on jubilantly, and might've even followed after Neya immediately were it not for some semblance of self-discipline staying his paw. But the moment the others move to follow the shadow monk, he'd be ready to hurry along as well.
As soon as the arrows hit the Rootwater camp, a few indignant shouts respond to the affront. In Draconic, a few Rootwater clan members begin insulting Dusk-Duskers, but a few others remain quiet and attentive. Neya doesn't have eyes on the argument above as she is currently surrounded by walls of water. Doozey and Utar can see the two clans begin to boil up. Nonetheless, it would seem that a couple of stray arrows are not enough to send two clans into an open brawl. Dusk-Dusk and Rootwater continue to argue. They are both suspicious of each other but don't seem quite ready to attack based on a couple of misplaced arrows. The insults are flying, a few lizardfolk have moved menacingly closer to their rivals, and at least one of them is doing the "hold me back" routine. Things are certainly uneasy but not quite spilling over yet.
Knowing what you know now about the clans, and noticing they keep looking and pointing to the Muckmarsh clan as part of their argument, you can deduce that the lizardfolks are not willing to start a two-clan fight knowing that the better armed Muckmarsh clan would simply swoop in and defeat the remnants of the two warring clans. These three clans have been on this sort of stalemate for quite sometime. They understand this dynamic well. They are also suspicious of the water magic. If one of the Dusk-Dusk or Rootwater shamans could wield such power, surely they would have already used it to tip the unstable marsh balance to their favor.
A couple of Rootwater clan members then finally approach the two arrows stuck to the ground. They pick them up and discuss their workmanship. These aren't the usual arrows they use. Something is afoot. Denae can wait no longer. She turns to Utar and and Doozey and challenges them: "If you can't keep up, they I must go to my Sister's side. We can't leave her there alone." She makes her way into the muddy trench and begins catching up to Neya.
Meanwhile, Doozey notices the large humanoid figure in the water slowly approaching the Rootwater camp from the southeast direction (please refer to the map above).
Making his way through the parted waters at the back of the group, Utar felt grimly comforted knowing that should his concentration fail him, at least the others would be safely onto the island, or, that should they need to beat feet, there was a pathway that he could close should they be overwhelmed by angry lizardfolk.
Straining against the power of the spell and the weight of the water being held back, Utar ends up snarling a response to Danae, "Support your sister, but if this is ruse isn't working, make sure you can retreat. While I hold these waters apart, I can close them again, maybe we can catch some in the water?"
As much as he might've had a few choice words of his own, knowing Utar's warning took priority in the dwindling window of opportunity, a curt nod is all he can absently spare, as he'd refused to take his eyes off the swimming humanoid again. Not yet, at least . "... Seems our oversized rogue is on the move as well, and for the Rootwater camp at that.Still... yea, still no telling their plans, but we aughta keep that group wired up for a bit longer if we can." He adds, though towards the end his voice began to distort as bones shifted and growls came out unbidden as a familiar transformation took over took him.
"To that end, think I'm gonna join them. But if you figure you got a means get their goat yer own way, Mr. Utar. Feel free to."With that, Doozey swings himself into Biscuits saddle, and together the duo rush off for the trench, aiming to make up as much ground as possible with Neya, and perhaps a ways beyond. For at the very least, the stoutling's aim was to make it as close to the island to make good on his mentioning earlier of 'having an idea'.
"Hence why I asked for the king's angle. But if it would be somewhat out of our way, I'm open to other suggestions."
