Erbert smiles and brings the diamond forward with his mage hand and trots back to the room with the statues. He uses the mage hand to bring the diamond up to the forehead of the skull and slot it into place, pushing it.

The diamond fits easily into place and CLICKS. It begins to glow with a white light. The runes on the pedestal are backlit as well. The three statues now pulse in sequence:
Erbert searches the pile of coins. Many slip over the edge as he moves through them and plop gently into the surrounding water. He finds only gold and silver coins from many different kingdoms.
Erbert heads back to the passageway to the north, turning west. “Something doesn’t seem right….I wonder if I’m missing anything. Xagyg, where have you hidden the last one!” he says to no one.
He heads to the western wall and searches, looking high and low. Perception : 20
If he doesn’t find anything, he ritually casts detect magic and looks again, turning back down the hall if there is indeed nothing.

The search at the end of the hall reveals the outline of a 3’ x 4’ solid block in the wall. There is a seam here that is different from the other seams. This appears to e free of connection to the rest of the wall.
Erbert frowns and a frustrated look appears on his face. “Fine. Xagyg, making me exert myself. Grr!” He pulls his staff up and goes over to the wall and pushes with all of his might, directly putting his hands on the wall and shoving.

The stone is cool to the touch, Erbert pushes, hard. The stone initially doesn’t move, then, with a grating noise begins to slide backwards into the wall. After a brief distance it becomes easy to push directly backwards. The wall is two feet thick. Once the block clears the wall it pivots to the right to reveal a room beyond.
There is a whisper of air movement swirling in the room. Construction is the same as the rest of the complex. A large topaz sits on the floor across the room.
Erbert walks just to the opening of the room, looking around for anything beside the Topaz. If he sees nothing else, he backs out of the door and into the hall, using his mage hand to pick up the Topaz, saying under his breath “What next, Xagyg?”

The breezes in the room are seemingly random and swirling about faintly. You back out and bring your Mage Hand forward. Only, it cannot enter the room.
The phantasmal hand cannot move beyond the plane of the wall.
Erbert walks into the room, looking at the topaz. “Something funny about this. Guess I’ll have to do it myself.” He walks in to look around the room, looking for anything out of sorts, then if seeing nothing, he grabs the topaz and runs down the hall, as fast as his feet can carry him.

Erbert enters the room and the breezes are gently swirling, barely perceptibly. The room is empty other than the large topaz on the floor. He bends to pick up the gem then turns to run out the door and down the hall. The winds immediately become forceful and swirling about the room as the touches the topaz. He can see the air coalescing into a form to his left as he departs the room. He comes to the large hallway to the right and turns to look back. An entity has formed out of the air as a swirling mass composing a roughly bipedal creature. Deeply sunken "eyes" are visible on what would be its head. It is following you down the hallway. Looking into the room, you see that there is now a wall blocking the hallway on the opposite side of the room. It appears indistinguishable from the walls of the room.
The air creature follows Erbert and then moves to the center of the room. It floats there over the pile of silver and gold coins. You think it is "facing" you, but it is difficult to tell with features as indistinct as it has.
A new wall materializes, blocking the north hallway as well. Your Mage Hand is caught behind it and winks out.
Erbert turns and considers it, saying “Xagyg?” He turns back and looks at the last statue, puts the topaz in the slot and presses it. He turns back around to observe what happens.
