"I don't really know for exactly how long the quarantine has been in place... I've done my best to collect information but I've only been here a little more than a week. My rough guess is around a year." Ren answers before scratching the back if his next and continuing. "As for a cerfue, I don't think many folks are willing to stay out after dark. I am pretty sure the law doesn't do much here in the zone except.keep people in the zone... what people do in here I think is mostly ignored unless it is considered a threat to the city.."
When Daryos mentions introducing each other, Ren takes a seat on at a nearby pew. "I'll let you all talk first, then I'll go"
"We are definitely in need of more furnishing than broken pews. I plan to take the second bedroom for myself, though reluctant I am willing to share it with another person. We still have a bit of daylight left so we can poke around some of the abandoned buildings. As wizard I would also not fare well at the front of a confrontation." says Stasyn.
He then takes out his wand and starts weaving a pattern in the air "Continue to chat I am going to check that burning censer."
Stasyn cast detect magic as a ritual which takes 10 minutes.
Nesyax was about to speak once Daryos had finished, but then Stasyn gets up and heads over towards the censer. "Oh... well..." She hesitates a moment, before pulling the longhorn which is held by a strap along her back. "I play music," she starts before blowing through the instrument and beginning to play a brief beguiling-sounding tune. "And use a little magic here and there. I can heal a tiny bit." She then tilts her head, getting a bit of a grin. "People seem to think I'm charming too," she adds with a laugh.
She stands, heading over to where Stasyn had gone. "Hey, where's that cute little fellow that was peeking out when we first met?"
The young white-haired noble gives Nesyax a small smile as she laughs. She seemed charming indeed and that could prove quite useful to their team too depending on the challenge they were facing. There were certainly situations that would be better solved with words than blades. Also he personally had an interest in keeping morale up, and entretainment would be most welcome. He found himself hoping he would hear more of the charming blue-haired girl in time.
Daryos frowns slightly as Stasyn, and then Nesyax leaves the assembly. He had hoped they would all have the patience to listen to the others. Everyone knowing about each other could prove vital during missions, particularly now when they would soon explore an unknown area which clearly held great dangers. It was good though he felt to see this too as it showed what he would have to expect and what he had to work on to in time forge a strong and cohesive unit of people. A small polite smile returning, he then looks over at Kitaer and Vesna to continue.
Vesna nervously tucks a lock of red hair behind her ear and blows some air that shifts her fringe a bit. "I am a cleric... as you can probably see... I, uh, do healing as well. But I can also put stuff together... if it is not too complicated... ugh... like I can fix some of the broken pews later on... probably..."she starts fidgeting with her hands again, looking nervous when the attention has switched to her. Then she remembers something, and she quickly adds. "I do also have a mace and a crossbow too, and a shield!" with almost a triumphant tone, before blushing and looking down again. 'Silly Vesna, they all have their weapons. They all had their weapons from the moment they stepped foot in the Acquisition HQ back in Waterdeep. You were the only one going in unprepared.' She offers a weak smile to Daryos and Kitaer, not sure what else to say or do.

Aeran Dormaris - L2 Paladin on his way to Phandelver
Ren pipes up again once the last of you have finished your introductions. (OOC: I know Kitaer has not gone yet but I have some time now to post and since he is sick his posting may be delayed)
"Well, My name is Render Slaughterscale and I used to be a hunter. I acted as a hunter and a ranger for many years before starting my own butcher, taxidermy, and leatherworking shop. After doing that for years, I sold my shop and joined on with Acquisitions inc in the hopes of making it big. I am a skilled with leatherworking and so if you bring me bits and hides of monsters you fight I might be able to make you something nice... or at least functional."The lizardfolk says with a grin. "While you are out slaying monsters, I will be using my contacts around here to line up more work for us and to oversee any upgrades done to our headquarters."
Kitaer wonders if he is more beast or man in regards to getting this disease, but he doesn't fret over it. It is what it is, he can't just turn around and go back home...
"We'll tell the locals you're a bard? Or a fighter?" the minotaur offers to Vesna when the fate of the former holy people comes up. "At least to start with, perhaps."
"Maybe we let the man keep his office," Kitaer suggests upon that topic. "I suspect he'll be spending more time here than we do ourselves, no? Isn't it out job to be going out into the wilds and taming this damn place? Not much taming gets done from the comforts of home, what few comforts this place may provide. When I am here I am just as happy to bunk up against the front doors so as to be sure to awaken if any of the local savages decide to try to come in while we sleep. It'll still be more comfortable than I expect much of our time out and about will be..."
Kitaur walks around the building looking at everything out of curiosity and to familiarize himself with it. He will pay particular attention to doors and windows and try to figure out just how secure a building this is and could be... But he'll of course be checking out any of the boxes and stored items to try to get a bit of a mental tally of just what supplies are at their disposal. During the talk of the weeping sickness he does indeed dig through his pack and pull out a spare shirt. He tears it apart and makes himself a makeshift mask of sorts. It looks a bit ridiculous but if it keeps him healthy then so be it...
"Be hard for me not to get close to people. I hit them best up close and personal like," Kitaer says with his version of a smile which is hidden by the mask. "Though I could at least try to make them stop breathing as quickly as possible, I suppose..."
At their makeshift table Kitaer expands on that but there's not much to expand into. He's a fighter, a brawler, a killer when need be. "Not indiscriminate or nothing, mind you... But some people need killing sometimes." In truth he's been in far more barroom brawls than life or death battles but he's spent more time outside of cities than in them and sometimes in the wild you have to defend yourself.
"I'm with the opinion we should find finer digs as soon as we can," he agrees with what seems to be popular opinion. "But one must make do with what they have until they can do better. We should assess everything we have here, discard the trash, take note of anything that could be useful. We should also do what we can to discourage the locals from snooping around... As I said earlier, we'll probably be away more than here but while here it wouldn't hurt to make a reputation of this place not being one to mess with..."
Stasyn turns around after 10 minutes and says "That burning censer is enchanted with magic, but I do not sense any harmful magics from it. We can just leave it as it does much for the terrible smell outside. Shall we head outside and poke around some of the buildings for more beds or better furnishings?"
With Stasyn ignoring her (I presume, from the lack of response), Nesyax turns back to join the others, standing by the makeshift table. She joins in the conversation right after Kitaer finishes. "Sure. Let Ren keep his office. And I don't necessarily agree with finding finer accommodations. We should look at making this place finer." She then turns to Daryos, "At the least give us time to understand the situation here before deciding. Is in the city proper better than here?"
She stops, "If we've all introduced ourselves, I guess we should head out?" As she asks, she glances back over to Stasyn. "Although I guess we all sit here and wait why he does whatever it is he's doing." She just stands staring at him, waiting. (Since I can't imagine that all took 10 minutes.)
Daryos continues to listen to the others, taking in their thoughts and opinons, processing them to see where common ground may be found. He gives the insecure cleric an encouraging smile and nods to Kitaer's suggestion she should not reveal herself to be a servant of the gods to the locals. He then gives a nod of acknowledgement to the Verdan as he informs the others about his findings regarding the burning censer.
"So, thank you all for sharing a bit about yourselves, I think we've shared enough now before having our first trek outside our current base of operations. When we do head out I would like to have Kitaer up front, leaving to him to decide which way to go, followed by Vesna, Nesyax, myself and Stasyn in that order in close formation if that is okay with everyone."Daryos says, looking around at the others in hope of their consent to his suggestion.
"Now before we head out for a check of the perimeter, let me try to sum up our thoughts so far. As for sleeping arrangements I have Nesyax and Stasyn in one bedroom each, while Kitaer and myself are using the common area for now, which leaves Vesna to choose either to pair up with Nesyax or find some part of the common area." He says, finishing by glancing over at the cleric with a reassuring smile. "As for relocating I think we can agree upon that we will have to do whith what we have for now, and we'll try to improve on this place by having Ren, Hank and Dean to clean up here as best as possible while the rest of us try to find furnishings to make ourselves more comfortable, but eventually we will also look into alternatives, although not relocating before we can establish it would be better for the franchise to do so, all things considered." He says, again stopping to see if the team is with him, reasonably much at least. "Now, unless there is anything else I suggest we take that tour of the vicinity now, with the purposes of getting to know the area, find some more beds perhaps, but also see what we can find out about this Bone Collector."He says, getting up and ready to move out, but first addressing the team one final time before heading out, making an surprisingly inspirational speech about how he sees a bright future for the franchise with its current quite competent team.
(Using the Inspiring Leader feat granting everyone 4 temp hit points :-)
"Now, let us head out and explore!"He finishes with a confident and encouraging smile.
"I have Hank and Dean posted to keep any hostile locals away while I would be out collecting information or setting up our franchise location. I will try to do a better job of clearing out any remaining garbage from inside while you are out getting a feel for the area." Ren says with a grin.
When you all prepare to head out to explore, Ren stands up and looks to the group. "So before you head out... that are a more things you should know... a few more tips and a few points of interest I have noted in my short time here." He then moves to his office quickly and returns with a paper and quill. He then proceeds to quickly draw a simple and crude map. "If you go straight out the doors.. (East) You will run into the gate leading into the city proper. If you head left (south) you will eventually hit to docks. On your way south, you will pass LeadBelly's Tavern... It is a local spot where many of the uninfected hang out and were I managed to collect nearly all of my information. To the northeast (Right) is the Sparrow's nest... It is a repurposed church full of plague doctor type folks... I would steer of them unless you end up with the weeping pox and end up very desperate. Other than that... its mostly either sick folks hold up some place waiting to die... or those that are not sick trying their best to make a living here."Ren finishes as he hands the map to Daryos. He then turns and looks to Staysn. "one more thing... Folks around here don't trust arcane magic... and wizards are supposed to have a license. I would try your best to be descrete when casting your spells."He says with a nod.
"So clerics are frowned upon because there are no gods and arcane magic is untrusted and must be licensed?" Kitaer asks with a shake of his head. "Who thought this would be a good place to set up a new franchise??"
"Ah well, the old fashioned ways of killing people are still ok, yes? Blades and fists and all?"
"Personally I'd head straight for LeadBelly's if I was alone," Kitaer says after a moment or two. "But I'd be fine having a few drinks and waking up wherever I do. For the group's sake though perhaps we should take a walkaround starting east and the gates, then more northerly to at least get a look at this Sparrow's nest from a distance. We could then loop around wast and south to the docks and the tavern and perhaps get a peek of the entire neighborhood before the night ends?"
Daryos accepts the map from Ren and hands it on to Nesyax with a freindly smile. "I think you more competent with that Miss."
The young white-haired noble then nods in agreement with Kitaer's plan. "That all sounds good, let's make it happen."He says with an encouraging smile, ready to follow the massive minotaur.
Ren looks to Kitaer to clarify. "Well actually... Clerics are rare and celebrated... but if you come in here claiming to represent a God that no one has ever heard of perdorming feats thst no one has done in years... people will become suspicious or worse... that is all. The few clerics here in the zone were killed out of frustration when the quarentine zone was first established... The population in the zone has dropped a lot since the first days of the weeping pox. Instead of being angry about the lack of a cure, the people here are instead desperate for any sign of hope." The lizardfolk says as he moves to begin searching the old crates in the storage room. "There are people that blame the dissapearance of the gods on arcane magic. They know how strong it can be and so they fear it. If younahow the people how you can ise it for good, you may be able to change their minds."
Vesna glances warily at her mace and swallows hard. After some minor consideration, she decides to keep it to herself about her lack of experience in anything real - real fights, real spellcasting, real swinging with the mace, and instead just nods at Kitaer's suggestion about her claiming to be a fighter instead. Despite Ren's last words, she doesn't feel confident to stand out in any way in this strange land, whether as a cleric, fighter or even simply a human. But despite all of this, with the rest of the party having shown themselves as capable, she can't help but feel cautiously curious about exploring the city more.
As they get ready to leave, Vesna hides her crescent amulet under the cloak, just so she doesn't risk someone recognising it as a holy symbol, and nods after she hears the minotaur's plan, "I am ready to go."

"I can make a proper map later, might be useful." She makes sure her longhorn is stowed over her shoulder and is ready to go. "Alright, let's go take a look around."
Finally, we are leaving, and I hope there is some furniture worth taking. Stasyn reaches into he left sleave and gives the red snake an affectionate pat before leaving with everyone else. Ignoring Nesyax's stare. "I am ready to leave as well. Let's see what this destitute place has to offer."
"Alrighty then!" Kitaer sums up and then heads out the door. East, west, left, down, he doesn't really know... But his intention is a basic spiral pattern going out from home base and basically checking out the neighborhood. He keeps his eyes peeled for any deserted looking buildings, any diseased headed his way, any undiseased headed his way and basically for anything and everything...
